The price of alloying element Bi is low, and it has a high solid solubility in magnesium, and with the decrease of temperature, its solid solubility decreases, and the Mg3 Bi2 phase is precipitated, which improves the mechanical properties of magnesium. Therefore, Mg-Bi alloys have good solution and aging hardening potential. The addition of Sn, Mn, Al, Ca, Zn and other elements to Mg-Bi alloy can modulate the alloy microstructure and further increase the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the alloy. In this paper, the research progress of Mg-Bi alloys was introduced, and on the basis of summarizing the research achievements of Mg-Bi binary alloys, the microstructure and properties of Mg-Bi-Sn alloys, Mg-Bi-Mn alloys, Mg-Bi-Al alloys, Mg-Bi-Ca alloys, and Mg-Bi-Zn alloys were systematically summarized, and the effects of alloying on the second phase, grain size, texture and dynamic recrystallization of alloys were reviewed. The effects of alloying element types, addition amounts and hot working parameters on the mechanical properties of alloys were described, and the future research is prospected. Relining and modilying A356 alloy is one ol the important ways to improve its mechanical properties. In this paper, A356 alloy melt was treated with a new Al-Ti-La refiner and Al-10Sr modifier, and the ellect ol holding time on the microstructure and mechanical properties ol as-cast A356 alloy was studied. The results show that when the holding time is 15 min and the A356 alloy is treated with Al-Ti-La reliner and Al-lOSr modifier, the secondary dendrite arm spacing ol a-Al in the as-cast A356 alloy is reduced from 31. 10 pm to 15. 56 pm, which is reduced by 49. 96%, and the eutectic Si morphology is changed Irom coarse needle Hake to line short rod and granular. With the improvement ol cr Al and eutectic Si phase morphology, the tensile strength ol as-cast A356 alloy increased Irom 169. 67 MPa to 216. 33 MPa, increased by 27. 50%, the elongation increased Irom 4. 47 % to 10. 53 %, increased by 135. 57%, and the Vickers hardness ol the alloy also increased Irom 56. 37 HV to 62. 03 HV, increased by 10. 04%. 8011 aluminum alloy is a widely used cast rolling aluminum alloy. The solid liquid ratio and Al-Ti-B addition amount in the melting process are key factors affecting its properties. In this paper, the effects of solid liquid ratio(25%,30%,35%,40%) and Al-Ti-B master alloy addition(0. 18%,0. 20%,0. 22%) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 8011 aluminum alloy were studied via optical microscope (OM), transmission electron microscope(TKM) and mechanical property tests. The results show that the higher the addition of Al-Ti-B master alloy, the finer and more uniform the grain size distribution of 8011 aluminum alloy at the same solid-liquid ratio; At the same addition amount of Al-Ti-B master alloy, the higher the solid-liquid ratio is, the smaller the grain size of 8011 aluminum alloy is, but it is easy to lead to grain agglomeration; When the solid-liquid ratio is 40% and the addition amount of Al-Ti-B master alloy is 0. 22%,8011 aluminum alloy has the best grain refinement effect and mechanical properties. So as to investigate the influence of intercritical annealing time on microstructure and mechanical properties of medium Mn steels based on the results of SEM, XRD and tensile properties, a Fe-0.21C-0.20Si-6.1Mn-0.97Al alloy was treated at different annealing times（10min,1hand 12h）in this papers. The results showed that the increase in annealing times from 10min to 1hled to the increase in mechanical properties of warm rolled medium Mn steels,as the annealing time further increased to 12h, the mechanical properties of the experimental steel decreased; the increase in annealing time led to the increase in average grain size and the equiaxed microstructure ratio; with the increase of annealing time from 10min to 12h, the retained austenite fraction and stability increased firstly, and then decreased. With the increasing improvement of industrial requirements for cutting accuracy and efficiency and the emergence of difficult-to-machine materials such as titanium alloys, the development and modification of new hard coating materials with excellent comprehensive properties has become a research hotspot. The CrAlSiN coating has attracted widespread attention from researchers due to its ultra-high hardness exhibited by its nanocomposite structure, along with its excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation and wear. In this paper, the characteristics and related mechanisms of the microstructure, mechanical properties, wear resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance, high-temperature thermal stability, corrosion resistance and cutting performance of CrAlSiN coatings were summarized. The influencing law and mechanism of Al and Si content in the coatings on microstructure and performance was described. The effects and mechanism of element doping (doping with Ti, V, O, Mo, etc.) and microstructure design (adding transition layer, multi-layer, and gradient structure) on the microstructure and properties of CrAlSiN coatings were reviewed. Finally, the development and research direction of CrAlSiN coatings were prospected.

Different amounts of PTFE were doped in the process of Cr3+ electroplating to form Cr3+ composite coating. The effects of PTFE particles with different concentrations on the micro-structure and mechanical properties of Cr3+ composite coating were studied in this paper. The micro-structure and mechanical properties of Cr3+ coating were characterized and tested by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), nano-indenter and friction wear testing machine, respectively. The results show that different concentrations of PTFE had significant effects on the micro-structures and mechanical properties of Cr3+ composite coatings. When the concentration of PTFE in the plating solution was 12.5 mL/L, the current density was 35 A/dm², the pH was about 2.0, the temperature was 45 °C, and the deposition time was 20 min, the obtained Cr3+ composite coating had the best comprehensive performance, with the hardness of 6.8 GPa and the lowest friction coefficient value of 0.28. In this paper, the effects of several addictives, such as citric acid, sodium silicate, phosphoric acid, alum and polypropylene fiber, on the mechanical properties and water resistance of magnesium oxysulfate cement were studied. The phase composition and microstructure of the hydration products were analyzed by XRD, FT-IR, and SEM. The results show that a large number of needle-shaped 5Mg(OH)2⋅MgSO4⋅7H2O(517 phase) crystals were formed in the modified magnesium oxysulfate cement. In the absence of fiber reinforcement, using citric acid and alum as compound additives had the best modification effect, and their flexural strength, compressive strength and water resistance were greatly improved, meanwhile, the modification mechanism of alum was discussed for the first time. In addition, it has been found that magnesium oxysulfate cement and polypropylene fiber had good binding ability, which provided a new idea for strengthening and modifying magnesium oxysulfatecement. Coral concrete with coral crumbs as coarse aggregate and coral sand as fine aggregates plays a huge role in solving the shortage of materials in the construction of distant island reefs. In this paper, Ag-15Cu-10Au-2Ni alloy has been fabricated by vacuum induction melting, and the plastic deformation and microstructure, mechanical and electrical properties after heat treatment were investigated. The results show that the Ag-15Cu-10Au-2Ni alloy was mainly composed of silver-rich phase and copper-rich phase, as well as Ni mostly existed in copper-rich phase. The significant strengthening effect could be observed obviously, while the hardness was 201 Hv (90 Hv as cast condition) and the tensile strength was 744 MPa for the 95% deformed alloy. For the specimen annealed at 650 °C for 1 h, the elongation reached 31.8% and the hardness was close to that of the cast condition. The resistivity of the alloy decreased at first and then increased with the increase of annealing temperature. The alloy annealed at 350 °C for 1 h had minimum resistivity (3.98 Ωµ ⋅ cm) due to the emerge of order phase transition after annealing at low temperature region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effects of Cu addition on the microstructure, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of Ni-P-PTFE composite coatings were studied in this paper. The microstructure, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of the coatings were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), electrochemical workstation, nano-indenter, and friction wear testing machine, respectively. The results show that Cu addition has great influence on the composition, microstructure, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of Ni-P-PTFE composite coating. With the increase of Cu2+ concentration in the plating solution, Cu content in the coating first increased and then decreased, while the content of Ni, P, and PTFE first decreased and then increased. With the increase of Cu content in the coating, the corrosion resistance and hardness of Ni-Cu-P-PTFE composite coatings improved, while the friction performance decreased. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

High entropy alloy is defined as an alloy containing four or more main elements. The atomic fraction of the main elements is greater than 5% and not more than 35%, which has excellent properties such as high strength, high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Refractory high-entropy alloy is a new type of superalloy designed and developed based on high-entropy alloy of refractory elements, which has broad application prospects in aerospace, petrochemical and other fields, and is expected to replace traditional superalloys. This paper reviews the composition design of refractory high-entropy alloys from the aspects of element selection and addition of trace elements, and its phase composition has single-phase structure and duplex structure, and the preparation method and performance characteristics of refractory high-entropy alloys are studied, and finally gives the problems and challenges faced by refractory high entropy alloys. This review provides a valuable reference for researchers in the component design, microstructure regulation and performance development of refractory high entropy alloys.

CoCrAlYSi-hBN coating was fabricated using the high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) process under several processing conditions， and the effects of process parameters, gas flow and spray distance, on the microstructure and properties of the coating were investigated in the present paper. The microstructure, hardness, bonding strength and chemical composition of the coating was researched by using scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM), microhardness tester, adhesive strength measuring and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The results show that with the increasing gas flow, the porosity and h-BN content of the coating are reduced, and the hardness is improved; However, the bonding strength increases first and then decreases due to excessive energy leading serious oxidation. With the increase of spraying distance, the oxide inclusions are increased, which causes the hardness of coatings increase and the bonding strength decrease. In addition, when the spraying distance is 225 mm, the hardness and bonding strength of the coating are the highest due to the low porosity and boron nitride content.
