Tight oil exploration in Santanghu Basin enjoys a broad prospect, and horizontal well technology is an important means for effective development of this region. This paper started with analysis of difficulties in horizontal well drilling in Santanghu tight oil formation and carried out research on key techniques such as wellbore configuration optimization and profile design, specific drilling selection, low-cost and high-efficient trajectory control, increasing the encountering rate of reservoirs by horizontal section and quality, and effective drilling fluid, etc. The paper has also developed supporting technique series suitable for optimized fast drilling of tight oil horizontal wells in Santanghu Basin, which has been successfully used in five wells like Well Lu 101 and realized remarkable increase in drilling rate. Being affected by the low price of natural gas, North America is experiencing a tight oil evolution following the previous shale gas evolution; both fracturing quantity and production have increased greatly, leading an unconventional oil/gas resource revolution in the world. The successful development of unconventional resources represented by shale gas and tight oil is closely related with the advance of technologies like horizontal wells. This paper has investigated the important role played by technical advance in the great increase of tight oil production in North America from the point of view of drilling engineering technology. The paper first introduces the distribution of tight oil in North America, the history of the development of drilling technologies and the scale of present fracturing operations, and then analyzes the future drilling technology development trend through systematically examining the principal and leading-edge drilling technologies used in tight oil basins in North America, so as to provide reference for the development of tight oil in China, which has just got started. XYHF-1 well is the first shale gas prospecting horizontal well in west Sichuan. However, there are many difficulties in its drilling process, such as the low ROP, difficulty in controlling the well body quality, difficulty in selection of drilling fluid, high risk of well control and poor stability of well wall. This paper mainly elaborates the key drilling technologies and application effects, such as optimizing well structure, controlling wellbore track, optimizing drilling tools, safely drilling and reservoir protecting technology based on the analysis of drilling difficulties. At the same time, this paper briefly introduces application of some new technologies in this well, such as rotary guide drilling, oil-based drilling fluid and sleeve cementing techniques. The drilling cycle time is 253.17d for full hole, average ROP is 1.6m/h (including the pilot hole), the enlargement rate of full hole diameter is below 12%, and the maximum well deviation of the upper part is 0.87°, the construction effect is good. The application results show that reasonable well structure and borehole trajectory design is the basic premise of smooth drilling of shallow horizontal wells; and strengthening the prediction of friction and torque and using safety measures and good performance drilling fluids are the important guarantee for the safety drilling. With large-scale application of horizontal wells, the stimulation and reform of horizontal wells has been playing a more and more important role in increasing oil/gas production. In order to ensure fully fracturing of multi-stage reservoir in well, make play the capacity of each stage in horizontal section and make the reconstruction more pertinent and more selective, the development of selective acidizing technology for horizontal wells is particularly important. This paper presents a selective acidizing process by dragging coiled tubing in horizontal wells, which conducted experimental analysis and theory study for key operation parameters, and established technical parameters and successfully implemented on DH20-4H Well. The key point of carbonates horizontal wells acidizing stimulation is how to distribute the acid uniformly in the horizontal section, and the conventional solution is to adopt multistage temporary plugging technology. The regular temporary plugging agent cannot satisfy the requirements of YuanBa Changxin group marine formation due to the ultra deep buried depth and high temperature of gas reservoir. This paper developed an organic fiber temporary plugging agent, which took high viscosity fracturing fluid as transmission medium. Laboratory test figured out that the temporary plugging agent can reduce the permeability of more than 1 000 times, and have well physical plugging effect. Besides, fiber dissolution rate is very high in high temperature and acid environment, which realize zero residues after temporary blocking. Using jet drilling fluid induced by liquid nitrogen to induce flow mud in horizontal wellbore before acidification process, and then multistage plugging alternating injection technology was conducted. The stages number of temporary plugging was determined according to reservoir distribution and liner segments. Temporary plugging fluid and gelled acid were injected by following the method of "the initial low discharge capacity, temporary plugging constant flow, later large volume" to realize the acid distributing uniformly. This technology has been applied in four wells, and the temporary plugging efficiency is up to 80% with 100% stimulation efficiency. The current level of horizontal wells fracturing is simply with single well, and the impact of water injection and well patterns are often neglected in enhancing the capacity of single fractured horizontal wells, which appears serious limitations in fracturing effect. Aiming at enhancing the whole block of the recovery, taking the whole reservoir as study object, this paper established an overall fracturing theoretical model for horizontal wells. Fully considering combined distribution of horizontal and vertical wells, a variety of well patterns containing horizontal and vertical wells were designed, and an optimizing design software for horizontal well fracturing was developed. Based on optimizing the well pattern of horizontal wells overall fracturing, considering different length of horizontal sections, the parameters including numbers of fractures, fracture length, conductivity, crack spacing, crack asymmetric distribution and so on were designed, and then the optimal crack parameters have been obtained to forecast the production performance of fractured horizontal wells (daily production, cumulative production, rate of water content, recovery percent of reserves and so on). The ranges of permeability among low permeability, extra-low permeability and ultra-low permeability reservoirs are redefined, and the tight oil reservoir and low permeability reservoir are distinguished. The tight oil formation forming mechanism and development features are discussed, and the difference between Bakken tight oil reservoir and the common low permeability reservoir is pointed out. Also, the paper presents the key technologies and new knowledge of developing tight oil reservoirs in the Bakken play. In view of the fact that the prestressed solid anchor for cementing now available in domestic market is mainly used in vertical wells and can not be used in horizontal wells, a hollow ground anchor has been developed for horizontal well, used to address the problems such as wellhead lift and oil/gas escaping from wellhead, during steam injection in horizontal wells for heavy oil thermal recovery. This hollow ground anchor for horizontal well is connected onto the completion string in horizontal wells for heavy oil thermal recovery, which combines with the technology of cement displacement technology on the top of screen tube to carry out lifting and prestressed operation. This will not affect the drilling and cementing and subsequent oil production sequence, and also will not affect the cementing quality in large deviated sections. This paper presents the structure, working principle, performance characteristics and technical specifications of this ground anchor; and stress analysis and indoor tensile test were conducted to the ground anchor flukes, which were all up to the designed indicators. Reservoir is easily damaged by mud as the drilling cycle for fishbone horizontal wells is very long, and it is very difficult to solve the problem completely through acidization, so the paper presented this staged acidizing technology. 5-stage acidizing can be achieved by using a one-trip string containing a single-stage packer and 5 sand blasters which contain 4 sliding sleeves sand blasters. Through laboratory core corrosion test, the retarded mud acid and clean self-diverting acid were selected to form an acid system; by increasing the amount of acid and injection of liquid nitrogen, the stimulation effect is improved. This technology was used in Well Jing 52-H1Z and resulted in remarkable acid stimulation effect. Generally speaking, the horizontal section length of Dual horizontal SAGD wells is longer than that of conventional thermal recovery wells. During the production process of SAGD section, it is prone to steam channeling between production horizontal wells and injection horizontal wells and reserves non-uniform used in the horizontal section, which affect the development performance of SAGD well groups and increase the controlling difficulty. In order to improve the uniformity of producing degree in horizontal section, a uniform steam injection theoretical model was established and corresponding pipes were design in this paper. The horizontal wells in low permeability tight sandstone gas reservoirs of Sugeli were featured by multiple layers, long gas-bearing section and poor physical properties, so open hole packer staged fracturing is an effectively measure to enhance single well gas production. Optimization model of ICD in horizontal wells coupled with the reservoir and different types ICD computation model of pressure difference were built in this paper on the basis of analyzing the flow process of fluid from layers to wellbore under the condition of well completion design with ICD in horizontal wells. And then, static simulation parameters design method and dynamic simulation parameters design methods of ICD in horizontal wells were studied, and then the characteristics, differences and operation of these two types design methods were elaborated respectively. On this basis, optimal design about ICD in horizontal wells was figured out by combining both the static and dynamic stimulated parameter design methods. The feasibility and applicability of model and optimal design method of well completion with ICD in horizontal wells were verified by example calculation and analysis. Inflow Control Devices(ICD) represents a new well completion technology for controlling bottom water which provides uniformity of the inflow profile by restricting high specific inflow segments while increasing inflow from low productivity segments. This paper studys with numerical simulation the effects of the proportion of high permeability zone, permeability grading, the length of control section and the flow rate of control section on the water breakthrough performace of a reservoir with bottom water using ICD,and determines the optimum placement of inflow control device, the flow resistance rating and the length of control section. The results show that the smaller the proportion of high permeability zone is and the larger permeability grading is, the better the water breakthrough performace of a reservoir with bottom water is in heterogeneous reservoirs, and ICD mounting location, length and limit flow rate have an importantment of water breakthrough performace of a reservoir with bottom water. In order to make the water control and oil increment effect maximization, ICD should be installed in horizontal well section of high permeable zone, and the length must be equal to or slightly higher than the high permeable zone length. Honghe oilfield has the characteristics of low porosity, ultra-low permeability and natural fracture growth. Open-hole packer staged fracturing technology was mainly conducted in the early development stage, which is subjected to complex process of drilling sweep ball seat and difficult construction of secondary reformation. Through salvage sliding sleeve fracturing process test, the shaft diameter can be realized in whole wellbore, which provides technical support for the secondary transformation and interference factors analysis. The tube-string structure, technique characteristics and operation process of salvage tools were introduced in this paper, and pilot test was carried out in Well HH37P32. Field application shows that this fracturing technology can effectively implement stimulation for horizontal wells, and improve the fracturing effect of low permeability reservoir. Acid-cleaning technology of screen completion horizontal well is an effective measurement for cleaning the drilling fluid pollution in bore hole, and the acid-cleaning effect directly affects the well productivity. The early stage of acid-cleaning strings in Shengli oilfield has some deficiencies such as incompletely sealed well-washing valve, poor sealing effect of well washing packer and no drainage channels. Such problems directly caused poor acid-cleaning effect on horizontal wells. The acid-cleaning strings were specific modified and the sealing structure of washing valve was improved in this paper. And then well-cleaning packer equipped with flow path was developed. The low permeability difficult-to-produce reserves and unconventional oil and gas reserve in Dagang oilfield is rich, and horizontal wells with staged fracturing completion technology is probably the mainly mean to economically and efficiently develop these reserves. In order to analyze the applicability of staged fracturing in horizontal well completion technology in Dagang oilfield, application trials of openhole packer staged fracturing completion, casing cementing sliding sleeve staged fracturing completion technology and hydraulic jet perforation completion with immovable string were conducted to form a new well completion technique, which take the casing cementing and sliding sleeve subsection fracturing as the main technology. The newly process has the advantages of integrated pipe column for well cementing, completion and staged fracturing, full size and fracturing operation continuous, which can shorten the working period and sliding sleeve can be closed for water blocking point in late water-producing layer. Meantime, there also presents some problems with this technique such as wellbore production plug caused by ball dropping, poor cementing quality because of rubber plug no pressure and adjacent wells connection. Aiming at the existing problems, analysis and evaluation were conducted, and solutions were proposed in this paper. Considering the practical production figures and block mechanism analysis of Well WAA-1, the coiled tubing acid washing measure for removing pollution is proposed, and then the operation background, project design, operation process as well as effect evaluation of coiled tubing acid washing treatment are illustrated in this paper. By adopting the way of tripping the coiled tubing and controlling the lift speed and injecting rate, the acidizing fluid can be distributed equally in the horizontal interval. The conventional design method is no longer applicable to the segmented reconstruction and optimization of horizontal well due to the strong carbonate heterogeneity. The characteristics of Tazhong area such as high temperature, deep layer and seam/cave development bring more challenges for reservoir fluid reconstruction and segmented reconstruction process. This article is based on the analysis of the data about heterogeneous reservoir characteristics, determines the pre-fracturing reservoir description model designed for reconstruction and reflects the important guiding function of the seismic data about distant-well reservoir characteristics in the reconstruction design. On the basis of this recognition and the fine seam/cave carving, the design method for segmented reconstruction and optimization of heterogeneous carbonate horizontal well is developed. And a cross-linked acid system with the heat resistance of 140°C is established through thickener optimization and R&D of cross-linking agent, and its characteristics of low leak-off and excellent reducing rate of acid-rock reaction provide the basis for deep penetration of acid corrosion seam. On the basis of development characteristics of carbonate seam/cave, the open hole packer, a horizontal-well segmented fracturing tool with multi-stage sliding sleeve, is recommended, so as to form a systematic horizontal-well segmented reconstruction technique. The field application indicates that this technique has a good applicability and increases the yield significantly. Chang-8 oil reservoir of Jinghe Oilfield belongs to low-porosity and super-low permeability reservoir. In earlier stage, the sectional fracturing treatment with open hole packer gained a good effect, but the facture starting position of this technique is ambiguous and full opening of wellbore cannot be achieved. In order to improve oil recovery, the author puts forward "sectional fracturing technique with coiled tubing and bottom packer". In this technique, the coiled tubing, tools of sandblasting and perforating, and the bottom packer are connected, sandblasting and perforating are realized by injection through tubing, sand fracturing is achieved by injection from annular space, the layers being fractured are isolated by using bottom packers, to realize stepwise staged fracturing from bottom to top. This technique is characterized by significant fracturing fracture significant, well-directed formation reformation and fast operation speed. Application testing for JH2P20 well shows that by this technique, the transition layer fracturing could be finished in 30 min. Under normal condition, 9-interval fracturing can be completed within one day. After fracturing, the wellbore full opening will be performed.
