The paper presents a multi-objective optimization model and its solution algorithm for optimal signal phase sequence at pedestrian two-stage crossing intersections with mixed traffic flow characteristics. The signal sequence optimization objectives are the minimum total signal loss time, the minimum average motor vehicle delay, the minimum average non-motor vehicle delay and the minimum average pedestrian delay. A case study is given and the optimal signal phase sequence considering the comprehensive traffic benefits is obtained by using proposed model. Comparing with original phase sequence schemes, the total loss time, average motor vehicle delay, and average pedestrian delay are reduced by 1.86%,1.43% and 10.43%,respectively.
