The research progress on simulation and optimization of pressure swing adsorption purification technology for low concentration coal is reviewed. The adsorbent and pressure swing adsorption process are briefly and clearly introduced. From the perspective of the development trend of adsorbents, simulation and optimization can improve the performance of adsorbents and the ratio of raw materials, and improve the effectiveness of adsorbents. From the perspective of the development trend of pressure swing adsorption, simulation and optimization of pressure swing adsorption equipment can make its automation effect better and economic benefit higher. This paper summarizes and points out that simulation and optimization play an important role in this technology from both perspectives, which improves the efficiency and productivity. While bringing a lot of convenience to the technology, there are also areas for further improvement from both perspectives. From the perspective of adsorbent, the simulation and optimization of multicomponent mixtures still need to be improved; from the perspective of pressure swing adsorption, there are still limitations in the dynamic change simulation in the actual operation, and the safety optimization in the operation of the device should be considered more.
