(1) Background--Fujian and Taiwan are the main areas of wood forest products trade, and they also have a sequential difference in the development of wood forest products industry, with similar trade structure and facing similar international trade situation. The domestic scholars' researches on the international competitiveness of China's wood forest products industry mainly focus on the comparative study of the international competitive-ness of China's wood forest products and the world's main wood forest products exporting countries, and the comparative study on the international competitiveness of wood forest products industry in Fujian and Taiwan is relatively few. At present, the export market of wood forest products in Fujian and Taiwan has a high coincidence degree, and there is a certain trade competition. Based on the generalized double diamond model, the relevant factors affecting the international competitiveness of wood forest products industry in Fujian and Taiwan are dis-cussed, and the decision reference is provided for Fujian's wood forest products industry to improve its international competitiveness. (2) Methods--Firstly, the characteristics of wood forest products trade between Fujian and Taiwan were compared from the aspects of export trade scale, import and export trade structure and main trade markets. Secondly, international market share, trade competitiveness index and relative trade advantage index were selected to measure the international competitiveness of wood forest products industry in Fujian and Taiwan. Finally, the paper analyzed the factors affecting the international competitiveness of the wood forest products industry in Fujian and Taiwan by using the generalized double diamond model, and put forward some policy suggestions to improve the international competitiveness of the wood forest products industry in Fujian. (3) Results--From 2002 to 2008, the gap of international competitiveness of wood forest products between Fujian and Taiwan was small. From 2008 to 2009, both Fujian and Taiwan were affected by the global financial crisis to varying degrees. With the help of its own economic strength and forestry policy reform, the international competitiveness of wood forest products in Fujian surpassed that of Taiwan after 2009, and steadily improved. Compared with the wood forest products industry in Taiwan, the development of wood forest products industry in Fujian had the following four influencing factors; First, the input structure of primary production factors was reasonable, but the input structure of advanced factors such as capital and talents needed to be optimized. Second, there was a vast space for local demand, but the structure of the international demand market needed to be adjusted. Third, the related industries developed rapidly, but the basic supporting industries needed to be upgraded. Fourth, the strategy, structure and competitive environment of domestic and foreign entities needed to be improved. (4) Conclusions and Discussions--Based on the above research conclusions, the following policy recommendations are put forward: First, optimize the input structure of production factors to improve the efficiency of wood forest products industry. Second, adjust the export trade structure to stabilize the wood forest products market. Third, develop relevant and supporting industries to enable the wood forest products industry Chain. Newspapers and periodicals have become an important carrier of Fu creation activities in the Re- public of China (1912–1949), reflecting the self-adjustment and transformation of Fu in the context of literary modernization. Among them, the Fu works of teachers and students in the cultural and educational newspapers and periodicals during the period of the Republic of China (1912 - 1949), to a large extent, retained the writing theme and style characteristics of the traditional Fu style, highlighted their solid and profound classical literary literacy under the background of new literary education, and showed their unique national feelings and life interests with the characteristics of the times. In this paper, the authors try to sort out the general picture of teachers and students' Fu in cultural and educational newspapers and periodicals during the Republic of China (1912-1949) from the perspective of the inheritance and evolution of Fu. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on society, especially in densely populated areas. Schools have implemented distance learning, which has spawned many related problems. This paper focuses on the difficulties arising from the epidemic in indigenous communities and how appropriate information strategies may be used to solve these. Digital development has been vigorously promoted in China to drive a comprehensive and indepth change in production, life and governance through the construction of digital economy, digital society and digital government. It has put forward new and higher requirements for basic surveying and mapping products and services. Recently, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People􀆳s Republic of China issued a notice to promote the construction of 3D realistic geospatial scene of China, aiming to develop new 3D geo-spatial information products which can describe and represent the real 3D spaces of industrial production, living environment and ecological development. The construction of such 3D realistic geospatial scene of China will lead to a 3D digital space which can be well connected with the real geo-spatial space through real-time inter-connection, and will provide a new generation of spatiotemporal information framework for the development of digital China. It is not only a major task for national and local basic surveying and map‐ ping agencies in the next few decades, but also a challenging scientific and technological initiative where several complex factors and technical problems remain to be solved. Professional nursing organizations represent an important channel for the nursing profession to influence health policy, represent and protect the interests of nurses, and advocate for the further development of the profession. Facing the rapidly increasing aging population and emerging needs of long-term care in Taiwan, the Taiwan Nurses Association launched an integrated project to propose policy advice on the development of nursing in long-term care. In this paper, the relevant findings in the domestic and foreign literature are summarized to better define the role function and core competence of long-term care nurses. In addition, the current tasks, perceived competence, and training needs of nurses working in long term care settings are presented, and the consensus on various advocacy strategies are summarized. The findings presented in this study may be referenced when developing evidence-based policy recommendations related to education, practice, legal / regulatory amendments, and professional organizations. The Ministry of Education launched the University Social Responsibility (USR) Program in 2018. Since then, universities have actively promoted inter-disciplinary cooperation and implemented highend knowledge to meet community needs. Universities are using social responsibility to enhance the level of social participation engaged in by their students to achieve the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations. The aim of this paper was to share the experience of the Taipei Medical University (TMU) system in practicing social responsibility by integrating TMU resources with those of TMU-affiliated hospitals. The USR program at Taipei Medical University promotes the reform of school governance through encouraging university faculties to collaborate with hospital physicians to develop a specific curriculum that implements an innovative social-prescribing model. This curriculum is designed to provide opportunities for students to step out the classroom and into the community. Through clinical observations, home visits, and community service, students gain a deep understanding of community health issues from residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Medical humanities education is achieved through students' involvement in both patient individual care and community health issues. In addition, faculties guide students in reflective learning from holistic healthcare perspectives. Students are encouraged to use evidence-based methods to develop innovative models of care in the community. Medical staff participation in this program helps ensure that social prescribing to community residents accurately reflects professional assessments. These prescriptions refer patients to local health promotion units involved in community collaboration. The medical university students build a bridge between the medical system and the community to implement the goals of health education. The impact of social prescribing on the social determinants of health is known to be significantly greater than that of medicine prescriptions. The expected outcomes of this project are to reduce the health inequalities experienced by vulnerable groups in the community and to share Taiwan's experiences with the academic community worldwide. Introduction: This study used artificial intelligence and strategic management to predict sports industry development in Taiwan. Through public government information, we aimed to determine the dynamics of the sports industry and analyze the current situation of domestic sports industries and sports industry sectors. We also explored national sports policies and development issues to construct a Taiwan Sports Industry Gross Domestic Product Forecasting Model that aligns with the requirements of government agencies and the sports industry. Methods: This study explored time series data for 12 sports industries and 40 sports industry sectors from 2009 to 2018. We used artificial neural networks to predict future gross domestic product (GDP). We also used the moving average method to calculate the trend direction and used strategic management and brand positioning analysis to analyze industry positioning and trend development. Results: Only one sports industry, Sports Venue or Facility Construction, had an optimistic forecast for growth, while the GDP of the remaining 11 sports industries was predicted to decline. The average GDP forecasting accuracy for the sports industry was 94% in 2017 and 97.2% in 2018. Among the 40 sports industry sectors, eight had growth forecasts, while the GDP of the other 32 sectors was predicted to decline. The average GDP forecasting accuracy for sports industry sectors was 99.5% in 2017 and 99.4% in 2018. In the strategic matrix analysis, all 12 sports industries showed a growth trend. All sports industries showed a consistent upward trend in the GDP time series, indicating overall continuous growth in the sports industry. Similarly, among the 40 sports industry sectors, the Star and Cash Cow sectors showed growth trends and trend lines in the strategic positioning matrix and GDP time series. In contrast, the Question Marks and Dogs sectors showed declining trends and trend lines. Conclusion: This study makes six specific recommendations: (1) Seek solutions for the sports industry through prediction and estimation, (2) use strategic management to chart the course for developing the sports industry, (3) explore and propose future trends in the sports industry, (4) explore and propose future trends in the various sports industry sectors, (5) define the scope of the sports industry and address significant data management and its implications, and (6) foster research and development in technology management and its academic applications. From the 1950s to the 1960s, a survey team organized by the Institute of Ethnology of Academia Sinica visited nine ethnic groups of Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples, as well as the living areas of several Taiwanese Plains Indigenous peoples. During the field investigation process, their cameras recorded various activities and objects in the field. The survey work spanned about 10 years, and by 1965, a large number of field record images had been accumulated. The contents of this batch of field photos include: photo images of the villages visited (far, medium, and close), the natural environment around the tribe, local plants, people, rituals, material culture, buildings, statues, weaving looms and utensils, etc. If the contents of the images are viewed in accordance with the sequence in which the photos were taken, it is possible to grasp the movement traces and routes of the investigators at that time to a considerable extent. Although the black and white photos are old, they can still show the people, things and details that are brought into focus by the lens. These field photos have also been widely used in research papers and ethnographic publications, and have survived to this day. These photographs of field investigations spanning 10 years enrich and illustrate three-dimensionally the research results written in each text, assist the presentation of early studies of Indigenous peoples in Taiwan, and support research hypotheses and concepts. These field photos not only “recorded” the social and cultural outlook of Taiwan’s Indigenous people at that time, but also left field footprints and genealogical knowledge for early research on the Austronesian peoples in Taiwan.This article adopts the analysis framework of the photographic ecosystem to sort out the field photography archives of the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica, from 1950 to 1960, and annotates three important nodes of the photos’ biography: (1) From the 1950s to the 1960s, photographic images were included in the monographs published by the Institute of Ethnology as research results, highlighting the social biographies of this batch of photo files. Here, photography has witnessed fieldwork on the ground, describing the interactions within fieldwork and the production process of scientific knowledge. The developed photos and images assist in the presentation of encyclopedic knowledge of subjects. (2) Archiving of physical photos taken in the 1950s and 1960s and subsequent digital files points out the material biographies of the photo files. The conversion from analog to digital material/interface makes the images more “freely” released from the photographs. These photo files that survive in the binary material world of 0 and 1 have more diversified possibilities for application and knowledge extension paths. (3) This batch of photographic images from 60 years ago, through the multiple possibilities of materials/interfaces, has moved into the field and ecosystem of academic publication in response to changing academic thinking, social actions or events. As photo archives move from one ecosystem to another, their use, value, and meaning, including the value of their biographies, have also changed. The scope or boundary of the aforementioned important identifiable nodes is distinguished, described and explained through specific examples and activities. I also discuss the fieldwork conception, knowledge production methods, researcher--subject relationships, and the evolution of the power interactions of the Taiwan Indigenous peoples research at the Institute of Ethnology of Academia Sinica based on this, as well as the important figures in its development and institutionalization. The changeable situation from the late 19th century to the 20th century makes the world's politics, societies and ideologies into a great change. In this epoch, a lot of new problem, new phenomenon and modern ideology appeared. The publication of periodicals, establishment of publishing houses and new writers coming out that promoted modern literature and translated literature growth. Firstly, modern fiction imitated Western model emerged in the South of Vietnamese society, written by romanization language. Secondly, Chinese classical fictions translated into romanization, then published on periodicals; at the same period, with the popularization of romanization words, French classical fictions translated too. Beside that, Chinese people in Sai Gon Cho Ló'n read many of from Hong Kong, Taiwan popular fictions, especially Qiong Yao and Louis Cha's works. These Chinese people whom translated their works into Vietnamese language, which in the first time as a new phenomenon of receiving popular Taiwan fiction in South of Vietnam. Due to Taiwan's political and economic situation after World War II, technological and vocational education has always corresponded to national economic planning and manpower development. It was not until the education reform in 1994 that the people's educational needs began to be gradually taken into account by official policies. The civil sector's call for the reform was for "the expansion of senior high schools and universities," while the government's response was to "increase the Second National Freeway capacity." However, after the regime changed in 2000, the new government did not alter the original direction. This study employed documentary analysis to examine official historical documents and academic commentaries to understand the role played by educational reform. This study points out that the social power gathered by the education reform movement led the public to seriously contemplate "whether education should serve the development of the nation." Educational issues are embedded in the social context. This article recommends that we no longer strictly adhere to uniform equality, moderately open market competition, and establish high market value professional certificates/licenses to create a new path for technological and vocational education. Higher education in Taiwan has undergone major changes since 1994. Both the appeals of civil society groups and the content of official reports and subsequent policies are full of neoliberalism discourses. This article conducted document analysis and philosophizing methods, and adopted critical pedagogy as a theoretical framework to achieve the following four research purposes. The first is to analyze the neoliberal discourse within globalization, focusing on academic capitalism and new public management, which have significantly impacted higher education; the second is to review and reflect on Taiwan's 30 years of development of higher education reform through official reports and higher education-related policies; the third is to explore the impact of neoliberalism on higher education, especially the important aspects of governance, curriculum, teaching, learning and teachers in universities; and the fourth is to rethink how future higher education institutions, along with their teachers and students, can break through neoliberalism's influences. Ultimately, this article proposed that universities must re-establish themselves as democratic public spheres in the face of the destruction of democratic values by neoliberal discourse, with university teachers and students as transformative public intellectuals to jointly defend the publicity and social responsibility of higher education. Achieving enhanced healthcare quality by participating in cross-disciplinary medical teams and providing specialized, precision nursing are core professional values of clinical nurse specialists (CNSs). Although CNSs are crucial in the healthcare field, the development of CNSs in Taiwan remains in its infancy. The Taiwan Nurses Association has already announced regulations related to professional frameworks and scope of practice for advanced practice nurses and has reached a preliminary consensus and plans on the definition, qualifications, and indicators of care for CNSs. The clinical application, job titles, and certification of the professional core values of CNSs require continuous and joint deliberation and development by professional nurse organizations. In this study, the results of empirical research into professional organizational frameworks and certification of CNSs in Europe, the United States, and Australia were used to derive a reference model for CNS education and training development for advanced practice nurse specialties in Taiwan. Background: The application of palliative care is limited and challenging in intensive care units (ICUs) because of complex factors such as time constraints and unpredictable disease progression. Although research results and international consensus stress the early use of palliative care, utilization remains low, resulting in increased risks of ineffective medical care and poor quality of death. Improving this situation requires a comprehensive understanding of the palliative condition in ICUs. Purpose: This study was designed to investigate the utilization of hospice resources in adult ICUs and to compare this utilization between users and non-users. Methods: This retrospective correlation study recruited cases from the adult ICU database of a medical center in northern Taiwan between June and July 2022. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test and chi-square were used to analyze the data. Results: A total of 1,181 records were analyzed, including 458 (38.8%) females and 723 (61.2%) males. Two hundred and seventeen cases (18.4%) used hospice resources. Although 124 (10.4%) of the 1181 cases were identified as "in urgent need of hospice resources" (i.e., died within 30 days of ICU admission), 25 (20.2%) did not use these resources. Significant differences between the urgent-need cases who did and did not use hospice resources were found in terms of age, disease type, degree of frailty, cardiac arrest, infection, state of consciousness, intubation and tracheostomy status, inotropic and vasopressor medication, renal replacement, ECMO placement, delirium, and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation III and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment Scores. Conclusions/ Implications for Practice: The roughly 20% of ICU patients in urgent needs of palliative care who did not utilize palliative care resources highlight the needs for continued discussion to better assist patients on palliative care decision-making. The findings show multifaceted differences between those who did and did not access palliative care. Future studies should design and test strategies to facilitate the identification of palliative care needs and ensure the effective allocation of palliative care resources in ICUs. Background: Staff caregivers of day care centers provide many activities for older people. However, there is a lack of a systematic curriculum based on Taiwanese culture to improve cognitive function, self-care ability, and depressive mood status in these individuals. Purpose: This study was designed to test the effectiveness of a series of localized cognitive stimulation training courses implemented by direct caregivers and aimed at improving cognitive function, self-care ability, and depressive mood in older people at day care centers. Methods: This cluster-randomized controlled trial research was conducted over a four-month period. The participants were randomly assigned to the experimental, comparison, or control groups based on their day care center affiliation. The experimental group received a series of localized cognitive stimulation training sessions with musical rhythm courses from day care center direct caregivers. The cognitive function, self-care ability, and depression mood state of the three groups were then tested. Results: The experimental group reported statistically significant changes in average scores for attention, feeding, and depressive mood. After controlling for time and degree of participation in activities, the comparison group reported a lower average score for cognitive function at timepoint 3. Conclusions/Implications for Practice: The results of this study support caregivers at day care centers implementing a series of localized cognitive stimulation training course interventions to prevent declines in activities of daily living and cognitive function and ameliorate depressive mood in older adults. Based on the result of Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) 2018, this study tries to obtain deep insight of teacher professional development in elementary schools by comparing data between Taiwan and international average. Elementary-school teachers in Taiwan spend less time on teaching, lesson planning, and teaching preparation than TALIS international average. However, they spend more time on general administrative work (including communication, paperwork and other clerical duties), marking/correcting of student work, and counselling students (including student supervision, mentoring, virtual counselling, career guidance and behaviour guidance). Adapted to qualitative research, it reveals that teachers' profession development is by students' family and administrative duties. As to teacher professional development activities, carrying out teaching plans, applying reflective teaching, joining professional learning communities and online professional learning communities, cooperating with other teachers play key roles in supporting and encouraging teacher professional development. Classroom assessment is vital to the effectiveness of the competency-based curriculum in Taiwan's 12-Year Basic Education. The present study investigated how policies, schools, and teacher communities influence the practice of classroom assessment by teachers. The study addresses the following three research questions: (1) How do assessment policies affect teachers' classroom assessment practices? (2) How do school culture and teacher communities influence teachers' implementation of classroom assessment? (3) What challenges and opportunities do teachers face in the practice of classroom assessment? This study employed qualitative, in-depth interviews with seven junior and senior high school teachers selected for their expertise in classroom assessment and with one scholar specializing in classroom assessment. The study revealed that entrance exams, education policies, school culture, and teacher communities significantly influence teachers' practice of classroom assessment. Teachers' primary challenges in implementing classroom assessment include a lack of motivation to conduct them appropriately and a lack of guidance on how to administer assessment properly. On the basis of these findings, this study proposes that guidelines be developed for assisting instructional assessment; fostering a positive classroom environment that nurtures a love of learning; establishing collaborative mechanisms for assessment; and aligning policies to connect curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
