To analyze the research status and development trend of ionic liquids toxicology, VOSviewer and HistCite software were used to visually analyze the countries, institutions, authors, keywords, etc. of 1 178 ionic liquids toxicology related to literatures in the Web of Science core database from 2000 to 2021. The results show that: the number of literatures in the field of ionic liquids toxicology is increasing year by year, and China is far ahead of other countries in both the number of papers published and the total citation score. At present, the paper is mainly based on team cooperation within institutions, with strong independence. Although Chinese institutions and authors rank higher in the number of papers published, their total local citation score is not outstanding. The main focus of research in ionic liquids toxicology is imidazolium. The research focuses on the evaluation of lethality and composition changes in organisms, and the construction of structure-activity relationship models between ionic liquids and organisms. The mechanism of ionic liquids toxicity and combined pollution may be the focus of future research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The regulation of the cell cycle is essential for maintaining normal cellular function, especially in the development of diseases such as lung cancer. The cell cycle consists of four major phases (G1, S, G2 and M phases), which are characterized by a series of precise molecular events to ensure proper cell proliferation and division. In lung cancer cells, cell cycle dysregulation can lead to disordered proliferation and increased invasiveness of cancer cells. G2 and S-phase expressed 1 (GTSE1) is a regulatory protein found in the cytoplasm of the cell, which plays a key role in the cell cycle distribution of a wide range of cancer cells and is involved in life processes such as cell proliferation and apoptosis. GTSE1 affects cell cycle progression by interacting with cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1A (p21) and maintaining the stability of p21, which in turn inhibits the activity of cyclin-dependent kinase 1/2 (CDK1/2). In addition, GTSE1 is also involved in the regulation of tumor protein 53 (p53) signaling pathway. With the assistance of mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2), GTSE1 is able to transport p53 from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and promote its ubiquitination and degradation, thus affecting cell cycle and cell deathrelated signaling pathways. Anaerobic digestion is another important anaerobic catabolism pathway besides lactic acid and ethanol fermentation, which is of great significance for recycling resources, maintaining the ecological balance, optimizing the energy structure, alleviating the energy crisis, and promoting the implementation of the "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality" strategy. However, such an important metabolic process has not been involved in the current textbooks and teaching of biochemistry courses, making the teaching system incomplete. The anaerobic digestion process involves many reactions and complex metabolic pathways. In order to improve the students' understanding to this process, we created a full chart of the whole anaerobic digestion process based on systemic literature review and integrated it into the classroom teaching through the BOPPPS teaching mode. It was found that the classroom teaching assisted by this metabolic chart could help students establish the structural framework of the anaerobic digestion process and enrich the knowledge system of metabolism, achieving a good teaching effect. This paper introduces the content of the metabolic pathways of anaerobic digestion and the design of the teaching process, which would facilitate the teaching reforms and perfection of textbooks for related courses, such as Biochemistry, Environmental Engineering Microbiology and New Energy Engineering.

Marine plants and their co-epiphytic microorganisms are important compositions of marine organisms, and can produce many secondary metabolites with novel structures and unique activities and have various physiological and ecological functions. The Beibu Gulf is rich in marine plant species resources. According to statistics, there are 43 species of marine plants in three phyla. This paper reviews the research progress of the secondary metabolites of marine plants and their co-epiphytic microorganisms in the Beibu Gulf since 2002. A total of 59 new compounds and 35 known active compounds were obtained from 11 species of mangrove plants and seven species of co-epiphytic microorganisms, and three new compounds and seven known active compounds were obtained from three species of seagrass plants. A total of 25 new compounds and eight known active compounds were obtained from six species of algae plants and one species of co-epiphytic microorganism, which mainly involved terpenoids, alkaloids, flavonoids and sterols, most of which had good anti-bacterial, anti-oxidation, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory and enhancing the body immunity. Based on the above results, further research suggestions are put forward. The review provides a reference for further study and utilization of marine plants and their co-epiphytic microorganisms in the Beibu Gulf. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Folin-Wu method is one of the classic methods for blood glucose determination. It is the representative scientific research achievement of Hsien Wu, one of the most celebrated biochemists in China. This study focuses on the invention process of the Folin-Wu method by referring to the original papers of Folin and Hsien Wu and relevant second-hand historical materials. The implication of competition and cooperation in scientific community on further improvement of the Folin-Wu method is also discussed. The purpose is to evaluate the influence of the Folin-Wu method based on historical data, and to further clarify the academic contribution of Hsien Wu in the research process of this method.
