In recent years, some scholarly journals have indicated that they accept rewritten or extended version of a conference paper as long as new content are added to the journal article manuscript and that the original conference paper is included in the references. The extended publishing of conference papers now becomes topic worthy of investigation. This study analyzed the extended works of the conference papers from three major conferences in the fields of information management, i.e., Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)’s ACM Conference on Electronic Commerce (ACM EC), ACM Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (ACM KDD), and ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (ACM CIKM). Papers from the 2011 meetings were used as the sample to understand to what extent conference papers have been extended into journal articles and other forms and the lag between conference and journal publishing. It also examined the differences between the conference papers and their extended versions (i.e., journal papers) by comparing the changes in authorship, references, article length, tables, and figures. It reveals the current practices of extending conference papers for journal publishing in the information management fields and may help us understand the contemporary scholarly publishing behavior. In order to improve the cargo owner’s satisfaction and obtain better economic benefits for shipping companies, the ship deployment along routes and speed optimization of tramp ships are studied, considering the influencing factors of ship scheduling with the configuration and speed of self-owned ships and chartered ships. A goal is developed by minimizing sailing cost, fuel, and waiting cost at ports, penalty cost for late arrival at ports, time cost, and voyage ship chartering cost by applying fuzzy time window to characterize the cargo owner’s satisfaction. The model of scheduling and speed optimization with fuzzy time window for heterogeneous tramp ships is established. A variable neighborhood genetic simulated annealing (VNGSA) algorithm is presented to solve the problem. First, the ship type is matched with the cargo. Then the route is generated according to the time constraint. Finally, the neighborhood search strategy is adopted to improve the solution quality. Computational results indicate that integrated planning for ship scheduling and speed can reduce sailing cost; considering time requirement of cargo owners can increase their satisfaction. This paper can enrich tramp ship routing and speed optimization problems and provide a theoretical tool for shipping companies to make related decisions.

[Purposes/significance] Integrative development of data publication and sci-tech journals is a win-win solution. However, nowadays the publication of data related to journal articles is few and the awareness and initiative of authors about data publication have not been activated yet in China. Therefore, this paper investigated practical experience for data policies of international publishers, on this basis, the operation mechanism and data policies which suitable for sci-tech journals in China were put forward, as to provide strong support for data publication and world-class journal construction in China. [Methods/process] The data policy and operation mechanism of five international publishers (i.e., Elsevier, Springer Nature, Wiley, SAGE publishing, Taylor & Francis and so on) and the current situation of the publication of data related to journal articles in China were obtained through literature research, case research, and network information collection. [Result/conclusion] The implementation mode on data policies of five international publishers is basically same: general policy introduction + free choice of individual journals. Results showed that 68%, 99.9%, 92.2%, 47.0% and 69.3% of journals under Elsevier, Springer nature, Wiley, SAGE publishing, and Taylor & Francis clearly put forward the data policies, respectively. However, most of them adopted the “encouragement” policy. Their practical experience for data policies is worth learning for Chinese journals. Based on characteristics of Chinese journals, we should formulate the journal data policy standards and implementation mode, gradually promoting the breadth and depth of the integrative development of data publication and sci-tech journals.

[Purpose/significance] Exploring the hidden themes that affect the interactive effect of movie microblogging can explore the hot issues of users' attention and provide effective marketing strategies for enterprises. [Method/process] This paper crawled the popular microblog of 123 movies released in 2017 from Sina Weibo, used the topic modeling method to mine the hidden themes in the movie microblog text, and used the regression method to analyze the impact of hidden themes on the interactive effect of movie microblogging.[Results/conclusions] It turns out that there are 6 interpretable themes: movie characters, movie promotion, interactive marketing, movie content, movie evaluation and offline activities, of which 4 themes of movie promotion, interactive marketing, movie content and movie evaluation have a positive impact on the interactive effect of movie Weibo; at the same time, it is found that the number of user fans and the popularity of topic discussion positively affect the interactive effect of movie Weibo.
