Adrenal incidentalomas are associated with unfavorable cardiometabolic prognosis, irrespective of their hormonal status. Although metabolic syndrome is most often associated with functioning adrenal adenomas, it seems that non-functioning incidentalomas and subclinical Cushing’s syndrome are also associated with increased frequency of certain cardiometabolic risk factors such as impaired glucose tolerance, hypertension, atherogenic dyslipidemia, diffuse and visceral obesity, hyperuricemia, increased thrombogenicity, systemic inflammation and subclinical atherosclerosis. The majority of these factors are components of metabolic syndrome. The aim of the present study was to explore the change in lipid markers in patients with inactive adrenal adenomas.
