The authors examined the influence of cortisol during the first eight hours after its intraperitoneal administration in rats on the spleen and its polyribosomes. It was found that the weight of the spleen, referred to the body weight, diminished statisticaly significantly six hour after hormone application. The translirating activity of the polyribosomes of the spleen at the same time and this was not due to the presence of an inhibitor or to a deficit of the information RNA, but to changes in the ribosomes themselves.

The study of the interrelationship between the chemical structure of the drug molecule and their biologic activity is one of the most modern aspects of current pharmacology and pharmacochemistry. The information, obtained by these studies, contributes for more precise and detailed understanding of the mechanisms of drug molecule interaction with some biologic structures, and this helps to clarify a series of biologic and physiological phenomena. The authors describe in this paper some methods, which are used, when the dependences between structure and action are search for as well as the basic physiocochemical and quantum -- chemical values, which determine the pharmacological effect of drugs.

The authors examined the metabolic number of the enzyme (Na+, K+)-dependent adenosintriphosphatase (EK 3.6.1.3) in adrenalectomized, intact and chronically treated with aldosterone adrenalectomized animals. They accepted the amount of hydrolized ATF/one combining site for an unit of time as a metabolic number. They found that adrenalectomy lowered the specific enzymic activity in renal tissue and did not alter in the brain tissue. Aldosterone, administered intraperitoneally, in a dose of 10 mg per 100 mg of body weight daily for a period of 5 days, increased the specific enzymic activity in the examined both tissues. The metabolic number of the enzyme diminished after adrenalectomy in the brain and kidney and increased over the level of the control animals after administration of aldosterone.
