- Abstract
The study aimed to know the effect of electronic games on emotional disorders among school students in Oman, the descriptive analytical approach was used, and the questionnaire was a tool, applied to a random sample of 565 male and female students in the schools of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate in the Sultanate. The study found that there were statistically significant differences in the level of practicing electronic games among school students according to their gender and in favor of males, while the differences between males and females in the level of emotional disorders did not appear statistically significant. And the level of causal relationship between the variables, the results showed that practicing electronic games by school students has a positive effect with statistical significance on the level of emotional disorders among them. By using the Process technique to test the moderating role of academic level, it also showed that the higher the academic level of students, the lower the intensity of the effect of electronic games on the level of emotional disorders among them, and it is recommended that the program be customized according to each target group, giving priority to the male group in its first stage.
