Abstract

Innovation is necessary for organization development. Due to the importance of innovation in management development efforts, this study examines the main reasons and factors that limit innovation in Saudi public organizations. The study uses data collected from 439 employees. The results indicate that there are six factors limiting innovation in Saudi public organizations. These factors are: lack of incentives, lack of time for innovative thinking, administrative inflexibility, employee relation in work place, ineffective leaders, and lack of personal and psychological traits.
