This research aims to determine how to develop a Halal Tourism Area in Ngebel Lake Ponorogo in terms of DSN MUI Fatwa Number 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016. There are two discussions, namely: 1) How to implement halal tourism development in Ngebel Lake Ponorogo based on DSN-MUI Fatwa Number 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016 Guidelines for Organizing Tourism Based on Sharia Principles. 2) What is the inhibiting and supporting factors in the development of the Ngebel Lake Ponorogo tourism area based on the DSN-MUI Fatwa Number 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016 Guidelines for Organizing Tourism Based on Sharia Principles? The type of research carried out by the researchers is field research using qualitative methods. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis method used by researchers is inductive. The research results show that, first, the implementation of development based on DSN-MUI Fatwa Number 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016 has not been fully carried out in accordance with the guidelines for implementing halal tourism, even though it has fulfilled several development aspects as stated in the fatwa, namely, related to the provision of tourist-friendly Muslim facilities and services. Second, the fulfillment of implementation factors in accordance with DSN-MUI Fatwa Number 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016 influenced the success factors in supporting halal tourism activities at Ngebel Lake Ponorogo. However, the non-implementation of some of the supporting factors has created an obstacle in developing halal tourism in the Ngebel Lake Ponorogo area because it has not been implemented, as stated in the implementation guidelines according to Fatwa.

This study aims to look at the implementation of sharia compliance and Minangkabau custom in the halal tourism industry in West Sumatra, as the leading province in the halal tourism industry in Indonesia. The research methodology used in this study is a qualitative descriptive methodology with in-depth interviews as a data collection instrument. The Indonesian Ulema Council, the Provincial Tourism Office and the halal tourism managers in the provinces of West Sumatra are the main sources of data for this study and purposive sampling strategies are used in this study to pick informants based on criteria. The findings of this study indicate that the halal tourism industry in West Sumatra has substantively complied with the sharia rules contained in the fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council No. 108 of 2016 due to the implementation of sharia compliance in halal tourism in this province through the Minangkabau custom adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi kitabullah by combining religious and cultural values that are deeply rooted in society, this saying is ingrained in the life of the Minang people. This is what distinguishes West Sumatra from other provinces in maintaining sharia compliance with halal tourism. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat aktualisasi kepatuhan syariah dan budaya adat Minangkabau pada industri wisata halal di Sumatera Barat, sebagai provinsi terdepan dalam sektor wisata halal di Indonesia. Metodologi penelitian yang diaplikasikan pada riset ini adalah metodologi deskriptif kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam sebagai instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data riset. Sumber data primer penelitian ini adalah Majelis Ulama Indonesia, Dinas Pariwisata Propinsi dan para pengelola pariwisata halal yang ada di Propinsi Sumatera Barat. Kriteria pemilihan informan pada penelitian ini berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling. Temuan riset ini menunjukkan bahwa di Sumatera Barat industri wisata halalnya secara substantif sudah mematuhi aturan syariah sebagaimana yang sudah ditetapkan Majelis Ulama Indonesia melalui fatwa No. 108 Tahun 2016, hal ini karena implementasi nilai-nilai syariah pada industri halal tourism di provinsi ini seiring dengan pepatah budaya Minang yang berbunyi adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi kitabullah. Pepatah ini adalah wujud harmonisasi nilai-nilai agamis dan budaya yang sudah kuat berakar dalam sendi kehidupan masyarakat, pepatah ini juga sudah dikenal turun-temurun oleh anak kemenakan di Minang. Hal inilah yang membedakan Sumatera Barat dengan provinsi lain dalam menjaga kepatuhan syariah wisata halal.

This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of tourism management that upholds halal values and meets maqāṣid al-sharī’ah indicators, without necessarily using a halal label. Specifically, it aimed to understand the community's social, economic, and religious dynamics where a tourist destination grows and is managed. Using an ethnographic approach, the study was conducted in 2022. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with twenty informants, document analysis and observation. The Spradley model was employed to analyze the data. The findings of this study indicate that the management of Pantai Indah destination in Kerinci Regency emerged in a social context where religion and culture were closely intertwined through acculturation processes. Therefore, tourism in this area is a religious-cultural expression, rather than solely an economic pursuit. This background has allowed tourism to meet the elements of halal without requiring a halal label or special assistance, while still being able to initiate community-based tourism. Moreover, tourism can be measured using maqāṣid al-sharī’ah indicators. However, the study has certain limitations, such as the concentration of data in one community and the lack of comparison with other communities using different typologies, approaches, and characteristics. Nevertheless, this study recommends that the halal tourism program advocated by the government cannot be implemented in a top-down and uniform manner for all regions. This is because, in several areas, the local community has rejected such a program. In fact, halal tourism can be successfully implemented by ensuring its substance without the need for a halal label.

This study aims to analyze the need for a digital guide to halal tourism in Arabic language based on Indonesian culture in Kabupaten Aceh Besar, Lombok Barat, and Gorontalo. The primary objectives are to provide practical and quick information about halal tourism, enhance domestic and international visits, and promote the unique cultural heritage of these three regions. The research adopts the Borg and Gall development model. The identification of the guide's needs utilizes data from documentation and questionnaires filled out by tourists, hotel managers, village administrators, tourism department officials, and travel companies. The study concludes that a digital Arabic-language halal tourism guide needs to be developed in terms of content (halal facilities, recreational activities, types of tourism), culture (information on local culture and permissible practices), and technology (application-based design for convenient access to tourism information).

This research is motivated by the DSN-MUI Fatwa Number 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016 as the basis for the concept of halal tourism in the trend of sharia tourism management models, sharia tourism development in Baturraden Banyumas. The research method used in this study is the constructivist paradigm used to see the phenomenon of community behavior around tourist sites. The results showed that the tourism potential in Baturraden Banyumas to be developed into sharia tourism. First, the public can understand the meaning of sharia tourism, tourism is carried out for recreational purposes in accordance with the concept of halal tourism in the DSN - MUI fatwa. Second, tourism activities and tourist sites are sufficiently protected from immoral activities, only a few things need to be improved, namely the application of the rules of no dating and the implementation of a stricter curfew. Third, tourist sites are quite comfortable and safe. Fourth, in tourist sites there are many facilities for places of worship, restaurants, souvenir shops.

Halal tourism, a rapidly growing sector constituting 10% of global travel, is the focus of this study. The research examines halal travel services pre- and post- COVID-19 by analyzing the global Islamic tourism index from 2015 to 2022. Key components like accessibility, connectivity, environment, and service enablement indexes are studied. Using an analytical descriptive approach, the study compares various countries. Marketers are trying their best to find tactics and means of communication to gain the trust of consumers by attracting them and keeping their needs and interests in view, like halal tourism in the domain of the hospitability industry. The main purpose of this study is to analyze and explain whether the trust is developed by Social Media influencers and Halal Tourism and hence impacts the travel decision of travelers or not, in the context of Pakistan. In this regard, the data is collected from university students of the University of Punjab Gujranwala Campus and GIFT University. After collection different tests of normality, correlation, regression, and mediations were run on the data for analysis by using statistical software SPSS 20. After analysis, it was found that all hypotheses are accepted and interpreted that Social Media Influencers and Halal Tourism significantly impact the decisions of travelers. The study also revealed that trust mediates the relationship between Social Media influencers and Travel decisions; as well as the relation between Halal Tourism and Travel decisions. Organizations and managers must use these findings and knowledge to attract consumers and enhance their profits. These findings contribute to theory as it is the first study of its type and paves way for future research.

Malaysia is far advanced in introducing the Muslim friendly hotel segment as an Islamic tourism product. Malaysian hoteliers refer to three standards when offering Muslim friendly hotel services, which are namely the MS 2610: 2015 Muslim Friendly Hospitality Services Requirements, Crescent Rating Standard and Salam Standard. Moreover, CrescentRating Standard and Salam Standard have become standards for assessing Muslim friendly hotels at the international level. This study evaluated these standards in terms of their adherence to the Maqasid Syariah principle. Criteria for fulfilling these standards were presented and analyzed according to the five kulliyyat found in the Maqasid Syariah, such as protection of religion, life, intelect, lineage and wealth. Findings show that these standards strongly emphasize criteria related to safeguarding religion, such as performing prayers and fasting; safeguarding lives, such as consuming halal food; safeguarding the mind, such as abstaining from consuming alcohol beverages as well as safeguarding familial lineage, such as separating individuals according to their gender in swimming pools and spas. However, safeguarding lives, from the self-security aspect, and safeguarding property were not part of the criteria that determines the standards even though both these criteria are the fundamental needs of hotel guests. The failure to include these criteria has made these standards lose their holistic nature as well as become incapable of becoming evaluating standards that are completely detached from contemporary conventional standards.

This study aims to measure and analyze the application of the halal concept in tourism attractions of the Tsunami Aceh Museum and the PLTD Floating Ship (Kapal Apung PLTD) sites in the Banda City, Indonesia. It also attempts to assess the contributions of halal tourism to the economy, measured by income multiplier effects. Of 1,243 halal tourism visitors, entrepreneurs surrounding the halal objects, and employees in the halal tourism sites, 93 of them were selected as the sample of the study using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Observation, interviews, and questionnaires were used to gather the primary data. Majority of the respondents perceived that the tourist attractions of the Tsunami Aceh Museum and the PLTD Floating Ship had implemented the halal tourism concept. The study also found that those halal tourism objects have contributed to the enhancement of the community's economic development, indicated by the Keynesian Local Income Multiplier and Ratio Income Multiplier of greater than one. To further enhance the community income surrounding the halal tourism objects, the halal tourism facilities should be well-equipped and ensured a conducive surrounding environment. ======================================================================================================== Bagaimana Kontribusi Pariwisata Halal terhadap Perekonomian Masyarakat? Kajian pada Museum Tsunami dan PLTD Apung Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur dan menganalisis penerapan konsep halal pada objek wisata Museum Tsunami Aceh dan situs Kapal Apung PLTD (Kapal Apung PLTD) di Kota Banda, Indonesia. Penelitian ini juga mencoba untuk menilai kontribusi pariwisata halal bagi perekonomian, diukur dengan efek pengganda pendapatan. Dari 1.243 pengunjung wisata halal, pengusaha di sekitar objek wisata halal, dan tenaga kerja di lokasi wisata halal tersebut, 93 orang di antaranya dipilih sebagai sampel penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik proportate stratified random sampling. Pengamatan, wawancara, dan kuesioner digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data primer. Mayoritas responden menilai tempat wisata Museum Tsunami Aceh dan Kapal Apung PLTD sudah menerapkan konsep wisata halal. Hasil penelitian juga menemukan bahwa obyek wisata halal tersebut telah memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan pembangunan ekonomi masyarakat yang ditunjukkan dengan Keynesian Local Income Multiplier dan Ratio Income Multiplier lebih besar dari satu. Untuk lebih meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat sekitar obyek wisata halal, maka sarana wisata halal harus dilengkapi dengan baik dan terjaminnya lingkungan sekitar yang kondusif.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors that influence the intention to choose halal tourism in Indonesia using the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) model. Data samples used in this study were 265 respondents and processed with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences to test the significance of the regression model. The independent variables are attitude, subjective norm, and halal certification and its impact on behavioral intention. The results show that attitude, subjective norm, and halal certification have a positive and significant effect on behavioral intention to visit halal tourism. Halal tourism practitioners can estimate the behavior of prospective millennial visitors through this paper. As for academics, this paper is used for further research by integrating halal certification in TRA as a predictor of behavioral intention in millennial Moslems. Empirically this research is useful to increase understanding of halal tourism and visitor behavior. Halal tourism is a relatively new phenomenon for practitioners and academics. This study is an initial study investigating the determinants of millennial Moslems' visits through the TRA model. Therefore, this paper will be useful as an academics contributions about millennial Moslems to visit halal tourism in Indonesia and the world.

This research found that implementation of da’wah in Halal tourism in Special Economic Zones (KEK) in multicultural on the application of Islamic cultural values through social construction and approach of education Sunnah can improve progress and contribution to society and quality of facilitation of educational development to increase understanding source of human power. This research is a field research with qualitative method used with history and sociological approach. Data collection techniques are done by interviews, observations, and documents. A source of data in this study is the community of tourism actors in the Special Economic Zone of Lombok. This research produces and enhances the application of Islamic cultural values to the improvement of Human Resources and preservation of existing local wisdom, in the Special Economic Zones (KEK) is a pro-business policy from the government in order to accelerate the achievement of national economic development, which aims to accelerate regional development.

The background of this research is the increasingly halal phenomenon of halal tourism development. This study aims to determine and criticize the nature of halal tourism and know the indicators that can be used to measure the happiness of a kosher tourist destination. The research method used in this research is qualitative method. This study concludes that there has been a change in the nomenclature of sharia tourism into halal tourism. The concept of halal tourism has principles derived from the Qur’an and Sunnah. At the beginning of its development in 2013, the Ministry of Tourism with DSN-MUI has determined the criteria of halal tourism that includes nine principles, namely the benefit of the ummah; enlightenment, refreshment and tranquility; avoid idolatry, khurafat and immoral; maintaining the behavior, ethics and noble values of humanity; maintaining trust, safety and comfort; universal and inclusive; preserving the environment; and respect for sociocultural values and local wisdom.
