Anita Desai's Clear Light of Day (1980) is a partition novel which depicts the influence of the Partition between India and Pakistan on the unity of the Indian family. In 1947, India witnessed a civil war which led to partitioning it into two countries along religious lines. These events coincided with the end of the British rule in India. As a result of that, the Indian individual started questioning his real identity. During the period (1947-1970), India witnessed dramatic social, political, economic changes and transformations In her sixth novel Clear Light of Day, Anita Desai studies the impact of the Partition on the country and on the personal lives of the Indian individuals. The novel is precisely a depiction of family disintegration which parallels the disintegration of India under the Partition circumstances. The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of the Partition on the Indian families which survive the civil wars between the Hindus and the Muslims. Also the study tackles the role of women in the Indian society and the influence of the western principles on them.

Islam is recognized as a moral and rational way of life. It is a Natural Religion. Its universal teachings attract everyone and this is the concrete reason of its rapid extension in the whole world. However, in subcontinent it is widely propagated by orientalists and prejudiced Hindus that Islam is promulgated with the power of sword. For a realistic historic approach it is necessary to study the religion, values and traditions of Hindus if that time. In this article the Arabs-Hindus relations, the role of Prophet's (PBUH) companions, scholars, saints; Islamic equality, humanity; practice against discrimination of casteism etc. have been declared the basic elements of advent and promotion of Islam in Subcontinent. Under the British Rule Persian was replaced with Urdu and other local languages were maginalised in India. The traditional Muslim educational system produced the native Alam teacher through Dars-e- Nizami. Among them some were good Punjabi Poets. It is the matter of fact that some Hindus were also well-versed in Muslim religious books. The Muslim students recite and learn it by heart. Some of these books were written in Punjabi such as Pakki Rotti, Mithi Roti, Nijatul- Momineen, Bohl Namaz and Akhbar-ul-Akhrat, Bara Anwa. Punjabi was not taught for itself but facilitated the learning of Persian. It was the means of an educational and the learning of Persian. Most of the books mentioned in this article were the standard text in Pujabi that were taught in the houses and local masjid-makteb. There is no proper educational system existed except Madrasas, which were established in the Mosques of villages. Most of the literature is in poetry which was learnt by heart by the children of the villages. Normally, Paish Imam was a poet, calligrapher and also a preacher. It was due to this literature, mother sing this literature all the time and shift the same to another generation. Iqbal's recognition as well as Iqbal's rivalry has also become a permanent subject. In beginning a lot of contradictions were started on Iqbal's literary statement in which connoisseurs were prominent after that when Iqbal introduced the concept of Khudi (Ego). In mysticism and Sufism, Existential mysticism and Hafiz Sherazi was criticized than typical followers, supporters of delighting eras Poetry old mystics fans and Greek ancient followers of eastern philosophy have become the enemies but when he suggested the separate state at the basics of Muslim socialism the Hindu nation and all the Muslim followers not only become his enemy but also started the Character assassination and nothing left behind specially Hindus, congress leaders, atheist, Socialist and Qadiani were against that.
