The current status and distribution of the Jungle cat, Felis chaus, in Jordan is reviewed based on recent field observations and specimen collections. In 1998, two specimens were found poisoned in the upper reaches of Jordan River. Skull illustrations and cranial morphometric data are given on the basis of these specimens.

The status of the Marbled Polecat, Vormela peregusna (Guldenstaedt, 1770), in Jordan is reviewed based on recent collections and observations.

The diet composition of the Barn Owl, Tyto alba, was studied in the area of Al-Sareeh in northern Jordan. With over 55% of all food items, Merlones tristrami was the predominant prey. A comparison with other diet analyses in the Middle East showed that the Barn Owl is an extremely opportunistic feeder, foraging on a wide spectrum of animals as they become available.

The status of the Stone Marten, Martes foina syriaca (Nehring, 1902), in Jordan is reviewed based on recent collections and observations.

Analysis of Little Owl (Athene noctua) pellets collected from Safawi area, Jordan, has revealed the presence of at least six species of reptiles belonging to three families (Gekkonidae, Lacertidae and Agamidae), four mammalian species representing three families (Cricetidae, Muridae and Dipodidae), two unidentified bird species, one scorpion, one solifugid, five beetles belonging to two families (Tenebrionidae and Buprestidae), and one species of the order Orthoptera. These findings suggest that A. noctua is a diurnal hunter in the Safawi area.

A total of 17 pellets from the Eagle Owl, Bubo bubo, from Azraq Nature Reserve, Jordan, was analyzed. The remains of two insectivores (Paraechinus aethiopicus, Crocidura suaveolens), three rodents (Jaculus jaculus vocator, Meriones crassus, and Mus musculus), and one bird (Passer domesticus) were identified.

The Naked-bellied Tomb Bat, Taphozous nudiventris Cretzschmar, 1830, was recorded for the first time in Jordan in April 1997.
