A layered metal‐organic framework Zn‐TPN was designed and fabricated by solvothermal reaction. The crystal structure was a lamellar structure, and the unique coordination pattern provided Lewis acid sites that could be employed as efficient catalytic sites. Zn‐TPN displayed a satisfactory catalytic effect for Knoevenagel condensation of malononitrile and benzaldehyde. At 75 °C, the conversion rate reached 96.96 % basing on the acidic sites after 1 hour, and it showed ideal catalytic activities for Knoevenagel condensation containing various aldehydes. The abuse of antibiotics has led to serious environmental and health problems in the modern society. The detection on antibiotics with high selectivity and sensitivity is urgently needed. In this work, we synthesized a new zinc‐based metal‐organic frameworks, {[Zn3(TCPPDA)4] ⋅ 8DMF ⋅ 2H2O}n, namely ZJU‐126. The as‐obtained ZJU‐126 has demonstrated its usage as a platform of luminescent sensor for nitrofurazone (NZF) and nitrofurantoin (NFT) with strong quenching constants and low detection limits of 5.8×104 M−1 and 0.56 μM for NZF as well as 4×104 M−1 and 0.82 μM for NFT, respectively. A metal‐organic framework ZJU‐136‐Ce with ideal water stability was synthesized. It was adopted to load Mn2+ and DOX for chemo/chemodynamic therapy of tumor, the loading capacity of Mn2+ and DOX was 0.87 wt % and 10.19 wt % in ZJU‐136‐Ce, respectively. DOX&Mn@ZJU‐136‐Ce exhibited significant effects of inhibition of Hela cell growth, which confirmed it had a potential application prospect in the multimodal cancer therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A Zr‐based metal‐organic framework was synthesized by solvothermal method. It was designated as UiO‐67(bpy) since its structure matched well with UiO‐67 according to the X‐ray diffraction results. The cytotoxicity assay of UiO‐67(bpy) was measured and it revealed that UiO‐67(bpy) had excellent biocompatibility. UiO‐67(bpy) was used to load anti‐inflammatory drugs, and the loading capacity of diclofenac sodium (DS) of UiO‐67(bpy) reached 30.08 wt %. Furthermore, the DS@UiO‐67(bpy) exhibited a pH‐controlled drug deliver behavior. The DS released in simulated intestinal environment (pH 7.4) was about 20 times of that in simulated gastric environment (pH 2.0) after 12 h. A new highly selective fluorescent probe, (E)‐4‐(4‐([2,2′:6′,2′′‐terpyridin]‐4′‐yl)styryl)‐1‐octadecylpyridin‐1‐ium bromide (ZC‐F8), was designed and synthesized for cadmium detection and cell imaging. The fluorescence spectra of ZC‐F8 exhibited its excellent response towards Cd2+ via intramolecular charge transfer effect and aggregation induced emission effect. The cell‐imaging experiment was carried out to estimate the actual biological application of ZC‐F8. The probe displayed ideal membrane permeable and labeled property for cadmium, indicating its promising application for metal ions detection and tracing in living cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
