The article examines whether public concerns over infrastructure problems in the United States will result in more federal funding. The article explains that an explosion of a steam pipe line in New York City in July 2007, and the August 2007 collapse of the Interstate 25W bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has resulted in Americans beginning to raise concerns over the United States infrastructure. The article focuses on water and wastewater infrastructure needs. It is suggested that advocates for water and wastewater infrastructure needs may have a difficult time getting funding, because roads, bridges, and mass transit may get more attention.
