The article focuses on a draft paper related to the current temporary European Union ban on the import of captive wild bird. The draft paper stressed the need of increased vigilance at borders to pick up any illegal trade and pre-export holding facilities, veterinary health certification and post-import quarantine. Daniel Parker, president of British Veterinary Poultry Association, thought the paper in general was excellent, but he urged that poultry should be excluded from it.
