The aim of this study was to determine the difference in some serum enzymes of Kankrej cattle in different pregnant and non pregnant cows. Animals were divided in three groups as non-pregnant, mid-pregnant (4-6 months pregnancy) and late pregnant (6-8 months pregnancy) animal. The present study occurs on serum enzymes AST, ALT ALP and GGT. In following study serum ALT activity significantly lower in last stage of pregnancy in comparison to mid pregnancy. Serum ALP activity significantly (P<0.05) was higher during last stage of pregnancy as compared to non pregnant animal. Serum cholesterol concentration was significantly (P<0.05) lower in pregnant animals. Serum AST and GGT all parameters have non significant (P<0.05) changes during pregnancy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present investigation was carried out to determine the effect of ketosis on complete serum lipid profile in buffaloes. The blood samples were collected from Murrah buffaloes of 4-8 years of age belonging to Kuchaman city, Nagaur (RAJ.). In present study, total cholesterol and serum triglycerides showed significant (Pd"0.05) decrease in ketotic buffaloes, HDL showed highly significant (Pd"0.01) decrease in ketotic buffaloes and LDL showed nonsignificant (P>0.05) difference in ketotic buffaloes as compared to healthy buffaloes while serum NEFA showed significant (Pd"0.05) increase in ketotic buffaloes as compared to healthy buffaloes. The aim of present investigation was to determine the variations in concentration of plasma metabolites (viz. glucose, creatinine, urea and BUN) in ketotic buffaloes as compared to healthy buffaloes. The animals were divided into two groups: in the first group included ketotic buffaloes (n=18) and the second group included clinically healthy buffaloes (n=10). Biochemical examination of blood serum showed a highly significant (P< 0.01)reduction in blood glucose whereas serum creatinine, blood urea and BUN remains unaltered in ketotic buffaloes as compared to healthy buffaloes.
