Abstract

To describe the trajectory of self-perceived health, use of hypnotic drugs, and total health care costs among patients with a reported diagnosis of anxiety disorders. Among anxiety patients exhibiting higher comorbidity scores (>11), our model predicted that using hypnotics might save total health care costs comparing patients not being prescribed when holding other variables constant.
