Researchers at the University of Georgia have developed a new intranasal vaccine for influenza using the Computationally Optimized Broadly Reactive Antigen (COBRA) methodology. The vaccine, formulated with the Mastoparan 7 (M7-NH2) adjuvant, was found to induce strong immune responses and provide effective protection against drifted H1N1 and H3N2 viruses in mice. The study suggests that intranasal vaccination may be a more convenient and effective method of immunization compared to injectable vaccines.
