Abstract

The article evaluates fractional moving blood volume (FMBV) estimated in different cerebral regions of fetuses with severe intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). The authors discuss the regional blood perfusion patterns at different stages of fetal hemodynamic deterioration. They explain that FMBV was increased in all growth-restricted fetuses. They add that a trend for increasing FMBV values was observed in the cerebellum, whereas a decreasing trend was noted in the complete mid-sagittal area.
