Two taxa, R. raphanistrum L. subsp. rostratus(DC.) Thell. and Campanula hierosolymitana Boiss., collected from southern Anatolia are described as a second records for the Flora of Turkey. Different taxonomists had collected these taxa from Turkey, but these collected samples were not identified correctly. These samples were not recorded in the first or sixth volume or the other 2 supplements of the Flora of Turkey in spite of these misidentifications having been published in different papers. In this paper, these taxa that are added to the Flora of Turkey are presented for the interest of Turkish taxonomists. The descriptions and photograph of the fruit shape of the taxa are given and an identification key for their closely related taxa is supplied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper describes a floristic study of Bozburun Mountain and its environs. The study was conducted between 1998 and 2002, during which time 2419 vascular plant samples were collected. After the identification of the specimens, the total flora was determined to consist of 645 taxa belonging to 341 genera and 86 families. The endemism rate of the 645 taxa was 16.1% (n = 104 taxa). The phytogeographical spectrum of the species was as follows: Mediterranean 207 (32.1%), Irano-Turanian 51 (7.9%) and Euro-Siberian elements 33 (5.1%). This paper describes a floristic study on Kirmir valley, between Güdül and Yesilöz district, in Ankara province. The study was carried out during 2000-2003 and 1040 vascular plant specimens were collected. Four hundred and forty-eight wild taxa belonging to 266 genera and 74 families were determined. Furthermore, as for cultivated plants, 45 taxa were determined. The total number of wild and cultivated plant species is 493. Thirty-two of the wild taxa are endemic to Turkey and the rate of endemism is 7.1%. The 3 largest families are Asteraceae (43 taxa), Brassicaceae (40 taxa), and Fabaceae (37 taxa). The largest 3 genera are Alyssum L. with 10 taxa, Veronica L. with 7 taxa and Salvia L., Astragalus L. and Vicia L. with 6 taxa. The phytogeographical distribution of the wild species is as follows: Irano-Turanian elements 73 (16.3%), Mediterranean elements 46 (10.3%) and Euro-Siberian elements 43 (9.6%). Similarities between the taxa and ratio of phytogeographical elements of Kirmir valley and those of 10 other studies performed near our study area were compared using clustering analysis. This paper describes a floristic study of Bitlis river basin. The research was carried out from 2001 and 2003 to 2150 vascular plant specimens were collected. After the identification of the specimens, the flora was determined to include 925 taxa (at specific and infraspecific ranks) belonging to 770 species, 386 genera and 85 families. One hundred and seventy-nine taxa were defined as new records for the B9 square. The endemism rate of the area is 6.8% based on 63 taxa. The largest families are Asteraceae (109 taxa), Fabaceae (101 taxa) and Poaceae (77 taxa). The largest genera are Trifolium L. (27), Astragalus L. (22) and Silene L. (18). The phytogeographic elements are represented in the study area as follows: Irano-Turanian 292 (31.8%), Mediterranean 81 (8.7%) and Euro-Siberian 46 (4.9%). When the flora of the area is analysed by Raunkiaer’s life form system, the results are as follows: hemicryptophytes 345 (37.3%), therophytes 308 (33.3%), chamaephytes 103 (11.1%), cryptophytes 101 (10.9%) and phanerophytes 68 (7.35%). The descriptions of 29 species in our study were different in terms of some characteristics from the descriptions in the Flora of Turkey and in some cases from the flora of neighbouring countries. In this paper, 66 taxa belonging to 37 genera were determined from the alpine region of Uluda&gcaron; (Bursa). Buellia leptocline (Plot.) A.Massal. and Lecanora rupicola (L.) Zahlbr. ssp. subplanata (Nyl.) Leuckert & Poelt are new records for Turkey. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Paracaryum bingoelianum Behçet & İlçim is described as a new species. It is confined to Bingöl in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. Paracaryum bingoelianum is closely similar to P. cristatum subsp. cristatum and P. kurdistanicum. It mainly differs from them in that it has a shrub-like woody base and numerous stems with sterile shoots, longer corolla, and bigger nutlets. The diagnostic characters are discussed and taxonomic comments are presented. Seed and pollen characteristics were investigated using light and scanning electron microscopy. Campanula aktascii Aytaç & H.Duman (Campanulaceae) has been described as a new species. The diagnostic characters of C. aktascii were compared and discussed with its resembling species and the ecology and phenology of the new species were presented. Onopordum rhodense Boiss. ex Rech.f. (Asteraceae) and Daucus conchitae W.Greuter (Apiaceae) have been reported as a new records from Antalya (South Anatolia) for Turkey. One hundred and six lichen taxa are reported from the city of Giresun and Giresun Island, Turkey. One of these, Phaeographis dendritica (Ach.) Müll.Arg., is new to Turkey. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research details the flora of Erciyes Daðý, situated in the province of Kayseri in Central Anatolia, entirely within the Irano-Turanian phytogeographic region. A total of 2554 plant specimens were collected from the research area between 1996 and 2002. An evaluation of these specimens revealed 89 families, 433 genera and 1170 taxa (1116 species, 31 subspecies and 23 varieties). Of the 1170 taxa, 11 are pteridophytes, 12 gymnosperms and 1147 angiosperms (979 dicotyledons and 168 monocotyledons). Of these taxa, 36 are cultivars. According to the number of taxa, Asteraceae, Fabaceae and Poaceae are the largest families (137 Asteraceae, 116 Fabaceae, 88 Poaceae). The largest genera are Astragalus L. (40 taxa), Silene L. (22 taxa) and Veronica L. (19 taxa). The distribution of phytogeographic elements is as follows: Irano-Turanian 347 (29.7%), Mediterranean 79 (6.8%), Euro-Siberian 69 (5.9%) and others 675 (57.6%). Of the 194 (17.2%) endemic taxa in this area, 10 are peculiar to Erciyes Daðý. Known only from their types, Hieracium argaeum (Zahn) Sell & West and Asyneuma trichostegium (Boiss.) This study serves as a checklist of the myxomycetes of Trabzon and Giresun provinces, Turkey. Sixty-one myxomycete were identified, 20 of which were collected in the field and 41 grown in moist chamber culture. In addition, we report all taxa new for Giresun and Trabzon, including the following 15 taxa new to Turkey: Licea biforis Morgan, Cribraria intricata Schrad., C. macrocarpaSchrad., Lycogala exiguumMorgan, Arcyria globosaSchw., A. nigellaEmoto, A. magnaRex, Trichia erectaRex, Dianema corticatum A. Lister, Craterium concinnum Rex, Didymium anellus Morgan, Comatricha acanthodes Alexop., C. pulchella (C.Bab.) Rost., C. tenerrima (M.A.Curt.) G.Lister and Lamproderma scintillans (Berk. & Br.) The flora of the Elmali Cedar Research Forest (Antalya) was investigated. From the research area, 1296 samples were collected between September 2000 and September 2002. Of the 1296 samples, 83 represent families, 320 represent genera and 689 represent species that have been identified. The total number of species, subspecies and varieties of taxa was 708. In the analysed samples, 3 species were new to the scientific world. Twenty-eight of the taxa were collected for the first time from square C2. The number of endemic species in the research area is 141 (20.46%). Among the analysed species, 195 (28.30%) are Mediterranean elements, 87 (12.62%) are Irano­Turanian elements, 18 (2.61%) are Euro-Siberian elements, and 389 (56.45%) are multi-regional or species whose phytogeographical regions are unknown. In the investigated area, Asteraceae is the richest family, with 73 species and Astragalus L. is the richest genus, with 17 species. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
