Common I RHD i variants and zygosity were assessed by sequence-specific primer PCR (PCR-SSP), as previously reported.4 DNA sequencing of I RHD i exons 1-10 and flanking intron regions was performed using in-house primers. Moreover, the I c.1228-1G>C i mutation from the proband was then passed to the daughter, who typed an I RHD c.1228-1G>C i allele and a normal I RHD i gene.
