NORTH Korea-United States relations - Abstract
The article reports on the rescue mission of U.S. Navy decided by President Lyndon Johnson to recapture the U.S.S. Pueblo surveillance ship that was seized by North Korea. It highlights the hearings in which lieutenant Stephen R. Harris was called for the explanation of his failure to destroy the documents on the ship. It also stresses the claim of Captain John H. D. Williams that commander Lloyd Bucher and Harris had the equipment to destroy the documents but had no ingenuity to do the job.
