This article wants to show how, through art, values are transmitted, either consciously, implicitly or unconsciously. In its different manifestations: painting, sculpture, literature, cinema, architecture, etc. art transmits the dominant values, typical of each era, through symbols. Important and significant ideas, such as the idea of Spain, have been transformed throughout history, in different stories, which have been reflected in art in different ways. In classical international law, the value of freedom and legal certainty were developed, understood as the freedom of States and of knowing what to expect, a proper value of Law. But in the Law of the contemporary international Community, new values have been developed, particularly those of peace, human dignity and solidarity that find their reflection in works of art.
