It was reprinted in the February number of the London Magazine, I755, with acknowledgment ("From the CONNOISSEUR, Feb. 13."), but without the prefatory verse of the original publication. Although he did not acknowledge his source, internal evidence indicates, beyond question, that the Boston editor prepared his copy from the London Magazine. It is very probable that he intended it as a rather broad hint to the women of Boston. In setting it up for local consumption, he supplied it with a heading of his own invention

A brief contemporary account is given by Dr. Aaron Wight, of Medway, who attended the wounded at Cambridge, on April 20. His notes appear in an unpublished diary for the year I775, an interleaved almanac in the library of the Massachusetts Historical Society: I9. Then the Reglers went to Conkord, had a fite, about 40 of our men, and 3 or 4 hundred of them killed. 20. Clear. Then went Down to Cambridge to the wounded.
