The results of clinical trial conducted by comparing rosuvastatin with placebo in elderly patients with systolic, ischemic heart failure are reported. Rosuvastatin was not effective as a therapy for heart failure, but was found to play significant role in reducing levels of both low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein.
