The NMR spectroscopy of xenon sorbed in pentasil zeolites of the MFI (ZSM-5) and MEL (ZSM-11) structures is different from that of xenon adsorbed in the faujasite structure. The dependence of the xenon NMR chemical shift and spin-lattice relaxation rate on Si/Al ratio at 298 K points out a discontinuity in the surface properties at around 2 Al/unit cell and then a nonrandom distribution of aluminum atoms in the lattice
