Abstract

We have studied the influence of the magnetic field in the plane perpendicular to the highly conducting axis on the ohmic and non-ohmic electrical transport in the spin-density wave state of the organic conductor (TMTSF) 2 NO 3 . In particular, we report (1) the angular dependence of the magnetoresistance at different temperatures and in low electric fields and (2) magnetic field dependence of the threshold electric field for the non-ohmic conductivity. We discuss obtained results and compare them with the behaviour found in the spin-density wave state of the other (TMTSF) 2 X compounds.

Abstract

We have measured electrical resistance of the organic conductors with different anisotropy in the wide temperature range : quasi one-dimensional (TMTSF) 2 X (X=C10 4 , PF 6 and NO 3 ) and two-dimensional β-(BEDT-TTF) 2 AuI 2 . We have looked for the T 2 temperature dependence of the resistivity which is expected for the electron-electron scattering in the standard transport theory for isotropic systems. The agreements are, for all studied materials, satisfactory in the wide temperature region. We discuss and commpare electrical resistivity curves of this materials.

Abstract

We report Hall effect data (R H ) for two single crystals of the organic superconductor s-(BEDT-TTF) 2 I 3 in the low T c phase ( s L ). An unexpected temperature dependence is obtained with a broad maximum in R H near 40K. A possible interpretation in terms of electron-electron scattering is discussed.

We report the observation of the large Hall effect in the incommensurate spin-density wave (SDW) phase of (TMTSF)2NO3 and negative magnetoresistances in the semiconducting state above and below commensurate SDW phase transition of (TMTTF)2Br.

Abstract

We have studied the current-voltage characteristics of α-(BEDT-TTF) 2 KHg(SCN) 4 in the low temperature state. For the conductivity parallel to the conducting ac plane the nonlinearity appears above a well defined finite threshold electric field of 25 mV/cm at 2 K. This threshold field increases to about 200 mV/cm at 7.5 K. The nonlinearity is not detected above T = 8 K. Our data clearly show that the low temperature phase of α-(BEDT-TTF) 2 KHg(SCN) 4 is a density wave.

Abstract

It is well documented that spin density wave (SDW) in (TMTSF)2PF6 undergoes another phase transition at T*&ap;4 K, though the nature of the new low temperature phase is controversial. We have shown recently that the new phase is well described in terms of unconventional SDW (USDW) which modifies the quasi-particle spectrum dramatically. In this paper, we show that the same model describes consistently the Hall resistivity observed in (TMTSF)2PF6. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
