A newlanthanummetal organic framework, formulated as [La(DPA)(HDPA)]n(1), (H2DPA = 3-(4-hydroxypyridinium-1-yl) phthalic acid) has been synthesized and structurally characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, thermogravimetry, and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The polymer features a three-dimensional (3D) networks containing La(III)-carboxylate ribbon double chains. The bulk purity of the materials of 1 was confirmed through the powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) patterns. The photoluminescence property of polymer 1 has also been investigated. A new binuclear zinc complex, namely [Zn(Salpn)4(1,3-btp)]n(1, H2salpn = N,N′- bis(salicylidene)-1,3-diaminopropane, while 1,3- btp = 1,3-bis (triazole) propane) has been synthesized under one-pot reaction conditions in high yield, and has been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group ofC2/cwitha= 18.2270(17),b= 10.7435(10),c= 20.2896(19) Å,β= 92.9780(10)°. The two adjacent zinc-Salpn moieties were connected through the flexible 1,3-btp ligand into a binuclear unit. Two novel complexes [Zn(hfac)2(NIT-1’-MeBzIm) ] 1 and [Cu(hfac)2(NIT-1’-MeBzIm)] 2 (hfac = hexafluoroacetylacetonate; NIT-1’-MeBzIm = 2-{2’-[(l’-methyl)benzimidazolyl]}-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide) have been prepared and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction methods. Two new coordination polymers, {[Co(CH3C6H4-ip)(btp)]· 2H2O}n, (1) and {[Ni(CH3C6H4-ip)(bpe)]}n(2) (CH3C6H4-H2ip = 5-(4′-methylphenyl)isophthalic acid, btp = 1,3-bi(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane, bpe = 1,2-bi(4-pyridyl) ethene), have been obtained under hydrothermal conditions. Complexes 1 and 2 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and further characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. Complexes 1 and 2 exhibit different two-dimensional (2D) → three-dimensional (3D) polythreaded networks based on 2D corrugated layers that are connected by CH3C6H4-ip and N-donor coligands. A new complex, [Ni2(H2O)(5-Br-ip)2(dps)2]n(1) (5-Br-H2ip = 5-bromoisophthalate, dps = 4,4′-dipyridylsulfide) has been hydrothermally synthesized byin situgeneration of 4,4′-dipyridylsulfide ligand from a 4,4′-dipyridyldisulfide (dpds) precursor and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray analysis. Complex 1 belongs to the orthorhombic system,Fdd2space group,a= 28.789(16) Å,b= 13.903(8) Å,c= 27.693(15) Å,F(000) = 3984,R1= 0.0799,wR2= 0.1957. Complex 1 contains [Ni2(H2O)]4+dimers bridged by pairs of ligands into a single 3D diamond network with alternately left-handed and right-handed helical channels. A new complex, [Ni(Htbip)2(btb)]n, (H2tbip = 5-tert-butylisophthalic acid; btb = 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butane, has been synthesized by hydrothermal reaction of Ni(II) salt, H2tbip, and btb ligands. The complex was characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, thermogravimetry, single-crystal X-ray crystallography, and powder X-ray diffraction. The complex belongs to the monoclinic system,P21/nspace group, witha= 9.687 (8) Å,b= 14.432(12) Å,c= 11.943(10) Å, andβ= 102.021(10)°. Each Ni(II) ion is linked by Htbip anions to form a 1D linear chain and further are interconnected through bridging btb ligand to yield a 2D layer. An organic compound 5,5’dithio-bis-2-nitrobenzoic formate, formulated as C16H12N2O8S2 (1) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV, transmission Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray single crystal diffraction. It crystallizes in a monoclinic system, space group P–1 , with a = 8.041(2), b = 10.036(3), c = 11.340(3) Å, V = 876.8 Å3. The π-π stacking interactions propagate the compound unit into a trimer structure, and these trimers are further linked by intermolecular π-π stacking interactions into the two-dimensional supramolecular network. A novel molecular cubic perovskite (C6H14N2)(NH4)[BF4]3, space group Pa-3 (number 205), has been hydrothermally synthesized and further characterized by x-ray diffraction studies, elemental analysis, infrared spectrum, and thermogravimetric analysis. This is the Gfirst molecular cubic perovskite based on the three-dimensional (3-D) array of complex C6H14N2 2+ (C6H14N2 = doubly protonated 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane), NH4 +, and BF4 − modular groups that are held together largely by the extensive hydrogen bonding. This work demonstrates that the perovskite-type structure is highly flexible to diverse chemical components and can be stabilized by a wide range of chemical interactions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new coordination polymer, {[Cu(Brip)(1,4-btb)1.5]·2H2O}n, (H2Brip = 5-bromoisophthalic acid, 1,4-btb = 1,4-bis(triazol) butane) was prepared under hydrothermal condition by the reactions of Cu(II) acetate with H2Brip and 1,4-btb. The title complex was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and further characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. Complex 1 has a 3D network extended by both H2Brip and 1,4-btb ligands that employ the same bis-monodentate bridging coordination modes. From the view of topology, the structure of 1 could be described as a 5-connected (44·66)-nov net. Two of such nets penetrate with each other to generate a 2-fold interpenetrating 3D network. Two complexes, [Cu2(mip)2(bpa)]n (1) and [Cu2(mip)2(dpe)]n (2) [H2mip [image omitted] 5-methylisophthalic acid; bpa [image omitted] 1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)-ethane; dpe [image omitted] 1,2-Di(4-pyridyl)-ethylene], have been prepared by hydrothermal reactions of Cu(II) salt and 5-methylisophthalic acid system with structurally similar dipyridyl ligands and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray analysis. Their X-ray crystal structures show that both of the two complexes belong to the monoclinic system, P21/n space group, [image omitted] [image omitted] 7.9615(8) Å, [image omitted] [image omitted] 15.7148(17) Å, [image omitted] [image omitted] 11.7437(12) Å, [image omitted] [image omitted] 101.8880(10)○ and [image omitted] [image omitted] 7.9000(10) Å, [image omitted] [image omitted] 15.600(2) Å, [image omitted] [image omitted] 11.8063(15) Å, [image omitted] = 100.859(2)° for 1 and 2, respectively. The two complexes have 8-membered rings resulting from dimeric Cu(II) units bridged by tridentate H2mip ligands and further form two-dimensional layered structures, which are then extended into a 2-fold interpenetrating three-dimensional network through bpa and dpe co-ligands, respectively. Two lanthanide complexes, [Ln(HCAM)2(OH-Py)·3H2O]· 2H2O (HCAM = 4-hydroxypyridine-2, 6-dicarboxylate, OH-Py = 4-hydroxypyridine; Ln = Ce(1), Tb(2), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. X-ray diffraction reveals that the two complexes are isostructural, crystallizing in monoclinic system, space group of P2(1)/c, and each forms monomeric structure. The complexes exhibits one dimensional (1-D) zigzag chain array, and these 1-D chains are further linked into 3D supramolecular frameworks by extensive intra and intermolecular hydrogen-bonding and the π-π stacking interactions. Two new coordination polymers, [Mn(Bript)(2,2'-bipy)] (1) and [Mn(Bript)(phen)(H2O)](H2O) (2), were prepared through hydrothermal reactions of Mn(II) acetate with H2Bript (H2Bript = 4-bromoisophthalic acid), and the N-donor ligands 2,2'-bipy and phen (2,2'-bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline). Both complexes were structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Their X-ray crystal structures show that the two complexes belong to triclinic and monoclinic systems, P-1 space group for 1 and a = 9.389 (3) Å, b = 11.170 (3) Å, c = 16.629 (5) Å, α = 90.759 (3)°, β = 95.061(3)°, γ = 93.214(3)°, P2(1)/c space group for 2 and a = 12.980(14) Å, b = 11.120 (12) Å, c = 13.079(14) Å, β = 92.868(10)°, respectively. Complex 1 exhibits a 1D ladderlike chain, and then the neighboring 1D chains are further linked by the π⋅⋅⋅π stacking interactions to form a 2D supramolecular network. While complex 2 possesses a 2D layer structure, there also exists extensive intra- and intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions. A dicyanamido-bridged polymeric complex formulated as [NaCu2(dca)2(salpn)2]n (1) (dca = dicyanamide anion, H2salpn = N, N'-bis (salicylaldehyde)propylenediimine Schiff base) has been synthesized and characterized systematically. The complex 1 forms the single end-to-end ([image omitted]-) dicyanamido-bridged one dimensional (1D) infinite chain, and the sodium cations ligated by the dca ion ligands display a 1D zigzag chain array, where the diverse coordination fashions of salpn ligand have been observed. The cyclic voltammogram of 1 demonstrates the Cu(II)/Cu(I) and Cu(I)/ Cu(0) reduction couples. A three dimensional holmium(III) coordination polymer formulated as [Ho4(pydc)2(μ4-C2O4)4·8H2O]·6H2On (H2pydc = 2, 6-pyridine-dicarboxylic acid) has been synthesized via the reaction of 2,6-pyridine-dicarboxylic acid and ammonium oxalate with holmium nitrate, and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and X-ray single crystal diffraction. The complex presents 1D zigzag alternate chain array, and these 1D chains are further linked by oxalate ligand into 3D frameworks. Preliminary magnetic studies reveal the complex having weak but significant ferromagnetic couplings within the two adjacent magnetic centers bridged through oxalato, and the complex displays characteristic metal-centered fluorescence in solid state. First tetrahydrofuran-2,3,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid-bridged manganese(II) coordination polymer [Mn2L]n(L = tetrahy- drofuran-2,3,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid tetraanion) has been synthesized and characterized structurally. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c. a = 14.9418(15)Å, b = 7.7340(8) Å, c = 10.7222(11) Å, β = 102.59(10)•. Both of the Mn (II) ions in the complex are six-coordinated with a distorted octahedral geometry, but the coordination environments for them are different. A 3-D sodium (I) complex driven by the coordination bonds with empirical formula [Na(Bs-gluH)]n (Bs-gluH=N-benzesulfonyl-l-glutamic acid monoanion) has been synthesized and characterized. Its X-ray crystal structure shows that the complex belongs to a monoclinic system, P21 space group, a=5.3141(12) Å, b=15.786(3) Å, c=7.8390(17) Å, β=104.021(3)°. The sodium atoms are 5-coordinated NaO5. Each BsgluH ligand links five sodium atoms and each sodium centre interacts with five Bsglu ligands. Two new 4-sulfobenzoate coordination polymers based on the Zn2+/Cd2+/4-sulfobenzoate/4,4'-bipyridine system, [Zn(4,4'-bipy) (H2O)4] (sb) (1), [Cd2(4,4'-bipy)4(sb)2(H2O)3] · 3H2O (2) [4,4'-bipy=4,4'-bipyridine; sb=4-sulfobenzoate dianion], have been prepared and characterized by IR, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray analysis. Their X-ray crystal structures show that the two complexes belong to a orthorhombic system, Pca21 space group, a=12.1794(8) Å, b=11.3422(8) Å, c=14.7572(10) Å and a monoclinic system, C/c space group, β=101.161(2)°, a=12.4916(16)) Å, b=19.023(2) Å, c=23.501(3) Å for 1 and 2, respectively. Both of the complexes form 1-D chains, while the arrangement of the 1-D chains are different. In contrast to monodentate 4,4'-bipy-containing complexes reported in the literature, the bisdentate function for 4,4'-bipy in 4-sulfobenzoate transition metal system has not been reported up to now. The synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of a novel diamagnetic metal complex with thiazole-substituted nitronyl nitroxide radicals, [Ag (NIT2-thz)2](NO3) (NIT2-thz=2-(2'-thiazole)-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide), is reported. The structure of the complex consists of tetracoordinated [Ag (NIT2-thz)2]+ cations and uncoordinated nitrate anions. The radical behaves as a bidentate chelating ligand through one nitronyl nitroxide oxygen and the thiazole nitrogen.
