French Abstract: La Chine a recemment decide d’investir 15 milliards de FCFA en Republique Centrafricaine pour developper la filiere cotonniere, depuis la recolte jusqu’a l’egrenage et la filiere textile. Nous tentons de capter les consequences economiques d’un tel investissement sur la croissance economique centrafricaine dans un contexte ou le pays subit le contre coup de la depreciation de l’euro par rapport au dollar (le FCFA etant en parite fixe avec l’Euro). Pour ce faire, nous construisons une matrice de comptabilite sociale 2012 en tenant compte de la rehabilitation du secteur textile et nous developpons un modele d’equilibre general calculable nomme CARCHINA base sur le modele PEP 1.1. Nous observons une augmentation de la production sectorielle, une amelioration des conditions de vie des menages et une hausse du niveau du PIB reel. Tous ces effets sont amplifies par la depreciation de l’Euro. English Abstract: China recently decided to invest CFAF 15 billion in the Central African Republic to develop the cotton sector, from harvesting to ginning and the textile sector. We are trying to capture the economic consequences of such an investment on Central African economic growth in a context where the country is suffering the contraction of the depreciation of the euro against the dollar (the FCFA is in fixed parity with the Euro) . To do this, we build a 2012 social accounting matrix taking into account the rehabilitation of the textile sector and we develop a computable general equilibrium model called CARCHINA based on the PEP 1.1 model. We observe an increase in sectoral production, an improvement in the living conditions of households and a rise in the level of real GDP. All these effects are amplified by the depreciation of the Euro.
