The article presents a study on gene expression of dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons using a cDNA microarray in Sprague-Dawley rats with nerve root constriction. Distinct gene expression profiles were found using the cluster analysis method while upregulated gene categories were revealed through functional categorization. Other methods used include RNA preparation and labeling, hybridization to cDNA microarrays and data analysis, and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
