[Objective]The present paper aimed to clarify the relationship between soil nutrients and chemical components of tobacco leaves in Kunming tobacco area, so as to provide theoretical basis for the production of high-quality flue-cured tobacco in Kunming tobacco planting area.[Method]The relationship between soil nutrient status and chemical composition of flue-cured tobacco in Kunming tobacco area was studied by descriptive statistics and canonical correlation analysis.[Result] The results showed that the pH value of tobacco planting soil in Kunming tobacco area was generally suitable, content of available nitrogen was higher, and the content of effective phosphorns was was moderate but not balanced. The content of available potassium was abundant, and chloride content was at medium low level, but the distribi and reducing sugar of tobacco leaves in Kunming tobacco growing area was high, the alkali ratio were moderate, potassium and chlorine content were relatively low, but but potassium and chlorine were relatively High. Canonical correlation analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between soil nutrients and the main chemical components of tobacco leaves in Kunming tobacco growing areas. [Conclusion] Within a certain range, the decrease of soil pH value, oiganic matter and chloride ion content was consistent with the decrease of nicotine and total nitrogen in flue-cured tobacco leaves; the content of available potassium and available phosphorus in soil was consistent with the increase of total sugar, reducing sugar, potassium content, nitrogen-alkali mtio, potassium-chloride ratio and sugar-alkali ratio in flue-cured tobacco leaves.
