The article examines the impact of the use of digital signage on businesses during economic recession. A forecast from DisplaySearch suggests that unit volume for liquid crystal display (LCD) and plasma screens for digital signage and large-format commercial display applications will experience a 44% increase. Jeff Collard of Omnivex explained that digital signage creates efficiencies, improves costs, and enhances the capabilities of the business. DisplaySearch indicates that other retail growth areas are fast-food restaurants and movie theaters.
