Spin-dependent thermoelectric transport properties have been experimentally studied on a micro-structured device based on epitaxially grown 75-nm-thick Co2Ti0.6V0.4Sn0.75 Heusler film with integrated heater and thermometers. The anomalous Nernst coefficient is found to be 0.5 μV/K at 50 K. Thermoelectric power in both longitudinal and transverse directions have been measured with magnetic field rotated in-plane. Asymmetric peaks and valleys are observed at particular in-plane field angle around 25 K. These anomalous peaks show novel magnetic hysteresis due to the interplay between the magnetization and the temperature gradient. These complex behaviors of thermoelectric effect during magnetization reversal still need to be understood.

Hall effect measurements of the organic conductor (TMTSF) 2 NO 3 at low temperatures (1.8 ≤ T ≤7 K) and high magnetic fields (H ≤ 8.5 T), are reported. The large Hall coefficient R H indicates the semimetallic nature of the spin density wave (SDW) ground state, whereas its positive sign shows the dominance of the hole carriers. Both R H and resistivity increase with decreasing temperature, which suggests the possibility that the carrier concentration is reduced as the temperature is lowered. The field variation of Hall resistance R xy deviates from the linear dependence for T ≤ 4 K and H ≥ 3 T. This could be interpreted not only by the temperature induced change in the number of carriers or anisotropy of their mobilities, but also by the possibility that the SDW state might change with the applied magnetic field.

We present Hall effect measurements in the normal state of the high temperature superconducting ceramics La2−xSrxCuO4 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.08, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.25 and 0.30). The Hall constant (RH) is positive and it is a decreasing function of x.Every Sr gives not, vert, similar 1 hole to the conduction band. For x = 0 RH has semiconductor-like temperature dependence, while for the other Sr concentration RH is constant in temperature. The Hall mobility (/uH) decreases with x at high temperatures. For x = 0 d /uH/dT > 0 and with doping it changes to d/uH/dT

A set of accurate measurements of the low temperature magnetoresistivity of dilute AlMn alloys is presented. By using an AlV alloys as a baseline, the resulting negative magnetoresistivity is obtained and compared with theoretical calculations.

We have performed Hall effect measurements on YBa 2 Cu 9 O 7 and Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8 single crystals in the normal state and below the superconducting transition temperature (T c ). The Hall coefficient (R H ) in the normal state is positive and temperature dependent. In the mixed state below T c it changes sign for both compounds. The R H 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8 the flux flow Hall effect is observed even 30 K below T c , while for YBa 2 Cu 9 O 7 this region is reduced to ≅ 5 K. This difference comes probably from the different pinning strength of the vortices.

The dc electrical conductivity of a series of La 2−x Sr x CuO 4 compounds has been investigated. At room temperature the compounds exhibit a continuous change from the orthorombic to the tetragonal structure as x is increased from zero to x=0.15. Superconductivity appears in the tetragonal phase. The resistivity maximum, preceeding the superconducting transition varies in correlation with the Sr concentration. Application of hydrostatic pressure suppresses the resistivity maximum.

The temperatures of the resistivity minima (Tmin) of several AlMn, AlCr, ThU, ZnMn and ZnCr alloys are calculated by using the empirical expressions for the phonon resistivities. The comparison between the calculated and observed Tmin values seems to indicate the approximate additivity of spin and phonon resistivities in these alloys.

Dilute Pd Co and Pd Ni alloys show strong shape magnetostriction while Pd Fe shows a much weaker effect, confirming the existence of local orbital moments on Co and Ni atoms in Pd. Comparison with measurements on pure Pd indicates that in Pd metal, the forced shape magnetostriction is mainly associated with the Van Vleck susceptibility.
