- Abstract
The abstract in the conference brochure promised that the workshop would explore the attitudes toward die resistance to, and the benefits of, risktaking, and why risktaking is imperative to individuals and work groups. Risktaking was seen as imperative at a time when librarianship and libraries are threatened by maintaining the status quo. Attendees were asked to participate in risktaking exercises and discussions in a confidential (safe) environment. At the end of the session each person was asked to develop a Risk Action Plan in the context of a greater understanding of the potential for productive risktaking and the benefits of risktaking for themselves and their workplace.
