Orthogonal chirp division multiplexing (OCDM) offers a promising modulation technology for shallow water underwater acoustic (UWA) communication systems due to multipath fading resistance and Doppler resistance. To handle the various channel distortions and interferences, obtaining accurate channel state information is vital for robust and efficient shallow water UWA communication. In recent years, deep learning has attracted widespread attention in the communication field, providing a new way to improve the performance of physical layer communication systems. In this paper, the pilot-based channel estimation is transformed into a matrix completion problem, which is mathematically equivalent to the image super-resolution problem arising in the field of image processing. Simulation results show that the deep learning-based method can improve the channel distortion, outperforming the equalization performed by traditional estimator, the performance of Bit Error Rate is improved by 2.5 dB compared to the MMSE method in OCDM system. At the 7.5 to 20 dB region, it achieves better bit error rate performance than OFDM systems, and the bit error rate is reduced by approximately 53% compared to OFDM when the SNR value is 20, which is very useful in shallow water UWA channels with multipath extension and severe time-varying characteristics. Simultaneous transmit and receive wireless communications have been highlighted for their potential to double the spectral efficiency. However, it is necessary to mitigate self-interference (SI). Considering both the SI channel and remote transmission (RT) channel need to be estimated before equalizing the received signal, we propose two adaptive algorithms for linear and nonlinear self-interference cancellation (SIC), based on a multi-layered joint channel estimator structure. The proposed algorithms estimate the RT channel while performing SIC, and the multi-layered structure ensures improved performance across various interference-to-signal ratios. The M-estimate function enhances the robustness of the algorithm, allowing it to converge even when affected by impulsive noise. For nonlinear SIC, this paper introduces an adaptive algorithm based on generalized Hammerstein polynomial basis functions. The simulation results indicate that this approach achieves a better convergence speed and normalized mean squared difference compared to existing SIC methods, leading to a lower system bit error rate. Wireless broadband transmission channels usually have time-domain-sparse properties, and the reconstruction of these channels using a greedy search-based orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm can effectively improve channel estimation performance while decreasing the length of the reference signal. In this research, the improved OMP and SOMP algorithms for compressed-sensing (CS)-based channel estimation are proposed for single-carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) systems, which, in comparison with conventional algorithms, calculate the path gain after obtaining the path delay and updating the observation matrices. The reliability of the communication system is further enhanced because the channel path gain is calculated using longer observation vectors, which lowers the Cramér–Rao lower bound (CRLB) and results in better channel estimation performance. In wireless communication, multiple signals are utilized to receive and send information in the form of signals simultaneously. These signals consume little power and are usually inexpensive, with a high data rate during data transmission. An Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) system uses numerous antennas to enhance the functionality of the system. Moreover, system intricacy and power utilization are difficult and highly complicated tasks to achieve in an Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) at the receiver side. An infinite number of MIMO channels are used in wireless networks to improve efficiency with Cross Entropy Optimization (CEO). ADC is a serious issue because the data of the accepted signal are completely lost. ADC is used in the MIMO channels to overcome the above issues, but it is very hard to implement and design. So, an efficient way to enhance the estimation of channels in the MIMO system is proposed in this paper with the utilization of the heuristic-based optimization technique. The main task of the implemented channel prediction framework is to predict the channel coefficient of the MIMO system at the transmitter side based on the receiver side error ratio, which is obtained from feedback information using a Hybrid Serial Cascaded Network (HSCN). Then, this multi-scaled cascaded autoencoder is combined with Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) with an attention mechanism. The parameters in the developed Hybrid Serial Cascaded Multi-scale Autoencoder and Attention LSTM are optimized using the developed Hybrid Revised Position-based Wild Horse and Energy Valley Optimizer (RP-WHEVO) algorithm for minimizing the "Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Bit Error Rate (BER) and Mean Square Error (MSE)" of the estimated channel. Various experiments were carried out to analyze the accomplishment of the developed MIMO model. In this work, the impact of implementing Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) in predicting the channel parameters for user devices in a Power Domain Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access system (PD-NOMA) is investigated. In the channel prediction process, DRL based on deep Q networks (DQN) algorithm will be developed and incorporated into the NOMA system so that this developed DQN model can be employed to estimate the channel coefficients for each user device in NOMA system. The developed DQN scheme will be structured as a simplified approach to efficiently predict the channel parameters for each user in order to maximize the downlink sum rates for all users in the system. In order to approximate the channel parameters for each user device, this proposed DQN approach is first initialized using random channel statistics, and then the proposed DQN model will be dynamically updated based on the interaction with the environment. The predicted channel parameters will be utilized at the receiver side to recover the desired data. Furthermore, this work inspects how the channel estimation process based on the simplified DQN algorithm and the power allocation policy, can both be integrated for the purpose of multiuser detection in the examined NOMA system. Simulation results, based on several performance metrics, have demonstrated that the proposed simplified DQN algorithm can be a competitive algorithm for channel parameters estimation when compared to different benchmark schemes for channel estimation processes such as deep neural network (DNN) based long-short term memory (LSTM), RL based Q algorithm, and channel estimation scheme based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) procedure. This paper proposes an improved frequency domain turbo equalization (IFDTE) with iterative channel estimation and feedback to achieve both a good performance and low complexity in underwater acoustic communications (UWACs). A selective zero-attracting (SZA) improved proportionate normal least mean square (SZA-IPNLMS) algorithm is adopted by utilizing the sparsity of the UWAC channel to estimate it using a training sequence. Simultaneously, a set-membership (SM) SZA differential IPNLMS (SM SZA-DIPNLMS) with variable step size is adopted to estimate the channel status information (CSI) in the iterative channel estimation with soft feedback. In this way, the computational complexity for iterative channel estimation is reduced effectively with minimal performance loss. Different from traditional schemes in UWACs, an IFDTE with expectation propagation (EP) interference cancellation is adopted to estimate the a posteriori probability of transmitted symbols iteratively. A bidirectional IFDTE with the EP interference cancellation is proposed to further accelerate the convergence. THe simulation results show that the proposed channel estimation obtains 1.9 and 0.5 dB performance gains, when compared with those of the IPNLMS and the l 0 -IPNLMS at a bit error rate (BER) of 10 − 3 . The proposed channel estimation also effectively reduces the unnecessary updating of the coefficients of the UWAC channel. Compared with traditional time-domain turbo equalization and FDTE in UWACs, the IFDTE obtains 0.5 and 1 dB gains in the environment of SPACE'08 and it obtains 0.5 and 0.4 dB gains in the environment of MACE'04 at a BER of 10 − 3 . As a key 5G technology, massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) can effectively improve system capacity and reduce latency. This paper proposes a user scheduling and spectrum allocation method based on combinatorial multi-armed bandit (CMAB) for a massive MIMO system. Compared with traditional methods, the proposed CMAB-based method can avoid channel estimation for all users, significantly reduce pilot overhead, and improve spectral efficiency. Specifically, the proposed method is a two-stage method; in the first stage, we transform the user scheduling problem into a CMAB problem, with each user being referred to as a base arm and the energy of the channel being considered a reward. A linear upper confidence bound (UCB) arm selection algorithm is proposed. It is proved that the proposed user scheduling algorithm experiences logarithmic regret over time. In the second stage, by grouping the statistical channel state information (CSI), such that the statistical CSI of the users in the angular domain in different groups is approximately orthogonal, we are able to select one user in each group and allocate a subcarrier to the selected users, so that the channels of users on each subcarrier are approximately orthogonal, which can reduce the inter-user interference and improve the spectral efficiency. Cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems have the potential of providing joint services, including joint initial access, efficient clustering of access points (APs), and pilot allocation to user equipment (UEs) over large coverage areas with reduced interference. In cell-free massive MIMO, a large coverage area corresponds to the provision and maintenance of the scalable quality of service requirements for an infinitely large number of UEs. The research in cell-free massive MIMO is mostly focused on time division duplex mode due to the availability of channel reciprocity which aids in avoiding feedback overhead. However, the frequency division duplex (FDD) protocol still dominates the current wireless standards, and the provision of angle reciprocity aids in reducing this overhead. The challenge of providing a scalable cell-free massive MIMO system in an FDD setting is also prevalent, since computational complexity regarding signal processing tasks, such as channel estimation, precoding/combining, and power allocation, becomes prohibitively high with an increase in the number of UEs. In this work, we consider an FDD-based scalable cell-free network with angular reciprocity and a dynamic cooperation clustering approach. We have proposed scalability for our FDD cell-free and performed a comparative analysis with reference to channel estimation, power allocation, and precoding/combining techniques. We present expressions for scalable spectral efficiency, angle-based precoding/combining schemes and provide a comparison of overhead between conventional and scalable angle-based estimation as well as combining schemes. Simulations confirm that the proposed scalable cell-free network based on an FDD scheme outperforms the conventional matched filtering scheme based on scalable precoding/combining schemes. The angle-based LP-MMSE in the FDD cell-free network provides 14.3 % improvement in spectral efficiency and 11.11 % improvement in energy efficiency compared to the scalable MF scheme. Channel estimation of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system based on compressed sensing can effectively reduce the pilot overhead and improve the utilization rate of spectrum resources. The traditional SAMP algorithm with a fixed step size for sparse channel estimation has the disadvantages of a low estimation efficiency and limited estimation accuracy. An Improved SAMP (ImpSAMP) algorithm is proposed to estimate the channel state information of the OFDM system. In the proposed ImpSAMP algorithm, the received signal is firstly denoised based on the energy-detection method, which can reduce the interferences on channel estimation. Furthermore, the step size is adjusted dynamically according to the l2 norm of difference between two estimated sparse channel coefficients of adjacent phases to estimate the sparse channel coefficients quickly and accurately. In addition, the double threshold judgment is adopted to enhance the estimation efficiency. This paper proposes a reinforcement learning-aided channel estimator for time-varying multi-input multi-output systems. The basic concept of the proposed channel estimator is the selection of the detected data symbol in the data-aided channel estimation. To achieve the selection successfully, we first formulate an optimization problem to minimize the data-aided channel estimation error. However, in time-varying channels, the optimal solution is difficult to derive because of its computational complexity and the time-varying nature of the channel. To address these difficulties, we consider a sequential selection for the detected symbols and a refinement for the selected symbols. A Markov decision process is formulated for sequential selection, and a reinforcement learning algorithm that efficiently computes the optimal policy is proposed with state element refinement. The large number of estimated parameters in a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) makes it difficult to achieve accurate channel estimation accuracy in 6G. Therefore, we suggest a novel two-phase channel estimation framework for uplink multiuser communication. In this context, we propose an orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP)-based linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) channel estimation approach. The OMP algorithm is used in the proposed algorithm to update the support set and pick the columns of the sensing matrix that are most correlated with the residual signal, which successfully reduces pilot overhead by removing redundancy. Here, we use LMMSE's advantages for handling noise to address the problem of inadequate channel estimation accuracy when the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is low. Direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation methods are highly versatile and find extensive applications in satellite communication. DoA methods are employed across a range of orbits, from low Earth orbits (LEO) to geostationary Earth orbits (GEO). They serve multiple applications, including altitude determination, geolocation and estimation accuracy, target localization, and relative and collaborative positioning. This paper provides a framework for modeling the DoA angle in satellite communications with respect to the elevation angle. The proposed approach employs a closed-form expression that incorporates various factors, such as the antenna boresight angle, satellite and Earth station positions, and the altitude parameters of the satellite stations. By leveraging this formulation, the work accurately calculates the Earth station's elevation angle and effectively models the DoA angle. To the authors' knowledge, this contribution is unique and has not been previously addressed in the available literature. Furthermore, this paper studies the impact of spatial correlation in the channel on well-known DoA estimation techniques. As a significant part of this contribution, the authors introduce a signal model incorporating correlation in satellite communication. Although selected studies have presented spatial signal correlation models in satellite communications to analyze the performance metrics, such as the bit error or symbol error probability, outage probability, and ergodic capacity, this work stands out by presenting and adapting a correlation model in the signal specifically for studying DoA estimations. Accordingly, this paper evaluates DoA estimation performance using root mean square error (RMSE) measurements for different satellite communication link conditions (uplink and downlink) through extensive Monte Carlo simulations. The simulation's performance is evaluated by comparing it with the Cramer–Rao lower bound (CRLB) performance metric under additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) conditions, i.e., thermal noise. A radio is adaptive if it can autonomously analyze the communications environment and instantly modify its settings to achieve the best possible efficiency. In orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmissions, identifying the space frequency block coding (SFBC) category utilized is one of the most important tasks of an adaptive receiver. Previous approaches to this problem did not take into consideration the fact that real systems typically suffer from transmission defects. This study offers a novel maximum likelihood recognizer capable of distinguishing between SFBC OFDM waveforms in the context of inphase and quadrature phase differences (IQDs). The theoretical findings show that IQDs arising from the transmitter and recipient can be combined with channel paths to generate so-called effective channel paths. The conceptual examination demonstrates that the outlined maximum likelihood strategy of the SFBC recognition and effective channel estimation processes is implemented by an expectation maximization tool utilizing the error control decoders' soft outputs. The simulations results reveal that the suggested strategy delivers a much greater recognition accuracy than the typical approaches outlined in the comparable literature. At a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 14 dB, for example, the proposed approach achieves a bit error rate (BER) of 0.00002, which is very close to the case of perfect estimation and compensation for IQDs, outperforming the previous reported works which achieved BERs of 0.01 and 0.02. This paper proposes a novel multi-parameter estimation algorithm for the k-µ fading channel model to analyze wireless transmission performance in complex time-varying and non-line-of-sight communication scenarios involving moving targets. The proposed estimator offers a mathematically tractable theoretical framework for the application of the k-µ fading channel model in realistic scenarios. Specifically, the algorithm obtains expressions for the moment-generating function of the k-µ fading distribution and eliminates the gamma function using the even-order moment value comparison method. It then obtains two sets of solution models for the moment-generating function at different orders, which enable the estimation of the k and µ parameters using three sets of closed-form solutions. The k and µ parameters are estimated based on received channel data samples generated using the Monte Carlo method to restore the distribution envelope of the received signal. Simulation results show strong agreement between theoretical and estimated values for the closed-form estimated solutions. Additionally, the differences in complexity, accuracy exhibited under different parameter settings, and robustness under decreasing SNR may make the estimators suitable for different practical application scenarios. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) employed as airborne base stations (BSs) are considered the essential components in future sixth-generation wireless networks due to their mobility and line-of-sight communication links. For a UAV-assisted ad hoc network, its total channel capacity is greatly influenced by the deployment of UAV-BSs and the corresponding coverage layouts, where square and hexagonal cells are partitioned to divide the zones individual UAVs should serve. In this paper, the total channel capacities of these two kinds of coverage layouts are evaluated using our proposed novel computationally efficient channel capacity estimation scheme. The mean distance (MD) between a UAV-BS in the network and its served users as well as the MD from these users to the neighboring UAV-BSs are incorporated into the estimation of the achievable total channel capacity. We can significantly reduce the computational complexity by using a new polygon division strategy. The simulation results demonstrate that the square cell coverage layout can always lead to a superior channel capacity (with an average increase of  7.67 %  to be precise) to the hexagonal cell coverage layout for UAV-assisted ad hoc networks. Relay-assisted wireless communications, where both the relay and the final destiny employ diversity-combining techniques, represent a compelling strategy for improving the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for mobile terminals, mainly at millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency bands. In this sense, this work considers a wireless network that employs a dual-hop decode-and-forward (DF) relaying protocol, in which the receivers at the relay and at the base station (BS) use an antenna array. Moreover, it is considered that the received signals are combined at reception using equal-gain-combining (EGC). Recent works have enthusiastically employed the Weibull distribution so as to emulate the small-scale fading behavior in mmWave frequencies, which also motivates its use in the present work. For this scenario, exact and asymptotic expressions for the system's outage probability (OP) and average bit error probability (ABEP) are derived in closed form. Useful insights are gained from these expressions. More precisely, they illustrate how the system and fading parameters affect the performance of the DF-EGC system. Monte Carlo simulations corroborate the accuracy and validity of the derived expressions. Furthermore, the mean achievable rate of the considered system is also evaluated via simulations. Although Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology is still the key transmission waveform technology in 5G, traditional channel estimation algorithms are no longer sufficient for the high-speed multipath time-varying channels faced by both existing 5G and future 6G. In addition, the existing Deep Learning (DL) based OFDM channel estimators are only applicable to Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs) in a small range, and the estimation performance of the existing algorithms is greatly limited when the channel model or the mobile speed at the receiver does not match. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a novel network model NDR-Net that can be used for channel estimation under unknown noise levels. NDR-Net consists of a Noise Level Estimate subnet (NLE), a Denoising Convolutional Neural Network subnet (DnCNN), and a Residual Learning cascade. Firstly, a rough channel estimation matrix value is obtained using the conventional channel estimation algorithm. Then it is modeled as an image and input to the NLE subnet for noise level estimation to obtain the noise interval. Then it is input to the DnCNN subnet together with the initial noisy channel image for noise reduction to obtain the pure noisy image. Finally, the residual learning is added to obtain the noiseless channel image. The simulation results show that NDR-Net can obtain better estimation results than traditional channel estimation, and it can be well adapted when the SNR, channel model, and movement speed do not match, which indicates its superior engineering practicability. Aiming at the problem of low estimation accuracy under a low signal-to-noise ratio due to the failure to consider the "beam squint" effect in millimeter-wave broadband systems, this paper proposes a model-driven channel estimation method for millimeter-wave massive MIMO broadband systems. This method considers the "beam squint" effect and applies the iterative shrinkage threshold algorithm to the deep iterative network. First, the millimeter-wave channel matrix is transformed into a transform domain with sparse features through training data learning to obtain a sparse matrix. Secondly, a contraction threshold network based on an attention mechanism is proposed in the phase of beam domain denoising. The network selects a set of optimal thresholds according to feature adaptation, which can be applied to different signal-to-noise ratios to achieve a better denoising effect. Finally, the residual network and the shrinkage threshold network are jointly optimized to accelerate the convergence speed of the network. The simulation results show that the convergence speed is increased by 10% and the channel estimation accuracy is increased by 17.28% on average under different signal-to-noise ratios. We present a position and attitude estimation algorithm of moving platforms based on the tightly coupled sensor fusion of low-cost multi baseline GNSS, inertial, magnetic and barometric observations obtained by low-cost sensors and affordable dual-frequency GNSS receivers. The sensor fusion algorithm is realized by an Extended Kalman Filter and estimates the states including GNSS receiver inter-channel biases, integer ambiguities and non-GNSS receiver biases. Tightly coupled sensor fusion increases the reliability of the position and attitude solution in challenging environments such as urban canyons by utilizing the inertial observations in case of GNSS outage. Moreover, GNSS observations can be efficiently used to mitigate IMU sensor drifts. Standard GNSS cycle slips detection methods, such as the application of triple differences or linear combinations such as Melbourne–Wübbena combination and the phase ionospheric residual extended TurboEdit method. However, these techniques are not well suited for the localization in quickly changing environments such as urban canyons. We present a new method of tightly coupled sensor fusion supported by a prediction based cycle slip detection technique, applied to a GNSS setup using three antennas leading to multiple moving baselines on the platform. Thus, not only the GNSS signal properties but also the dynamics of the moving platform are considered in the cycle slip detection. The developed algorithm is tested in an open-sky validation measurement and two sets of measurement in an urban canyon area. The sensor fusion algorithm processes the data sets using the proposed prediction-based cycle slip method, the loss-of-lock indicator-based, and for comparison, the Melbourne–Wübbena and the TurboEdit cycle slip detection methods are also included. The obtained position and attitude estimation results are compared to the internal solution of raw data source GNSS receivers and to the observations of a high-accuracy GNSS/INS unit including a fiber optic gyro. The validation test confirms the proper cycle slip detection in an ideal environment. The more challenging urban canyon test results show the reliability and the accuracy of the proposed method. In the case of the second urban canyon test, the proposed method improved the integer ambiguity resolution success rate by 19% and these results show the lowest horizontal and vertical coordinate distortion in comparison of the linear combination and the loss-of-lock-based cycle slip methods. This paper discusses the results of simulations relating to the performances of turbo codes, low density parity check (LDPC) codes, and polar codes over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel in the presence of inter symbol interference, denoting the disturbances that altered the original signal. To eliminate the negative effects of inter symbol interference (ISI), an equalizer was used at the level of the receiver. Practically, two types of equalizers were used: zero forcing (ZF) and minimum mean square error (MMSE), considering the case of perfect channel estimation and the case of estimation using the least square algorithm. The performance measure used was the modification of the bit error rate compared to a given signal to noise ratio; in this sense, the MMSE equalizer offered a higher performance than the ZF equalizer. The aspect of channel equalization considered here is not novel, but there have been very few works that dealt with equalization in the context of the use of turbo codes, especially LDPC codes and polar codes for channel coding. In this study, the influence of adopting Reinforcement Learning (RL) to predict the channel parameters for user devices in a Power Domain Multi-Input Single-Output Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (MISO-NOMA) system is inspected. In the channel prediction-based RL approach, the Q-learning algorithm is developed and incorporated into the NOMA system so that the developed Q-model can be employed to predict the channel coefficients for every user device. The purpose of adopting the developed Q-learning procedure is to maximize the received downlink sum-rate and decrease the estimation loss. To satisfy this aim, the developed Q-algorithm is initialized using different channel statistics and then the algorithm is updated based on the interaction with the environment in order to approximate the channel coefficients for each device. The predicted parameters are utilized at the receiver side to recover the desired data. Furthermore, based on maximizing the sum-rate of the examined user devices, the power factors for each user can be deduced analytically to allocate the optimal power factor for every user device in the system. In addition, this work inspects how the channel prediction based on the developed Q-learning model, and the power allocation policy, can both be incorporated for the purpose of multiuser recognition in the examined MISO-NOMA system. Advances in machine learning have widened the range of its applications in many fields. In particular, deep learning has attracted much interest for its ability to provide solutions where the derivation of a rigorous mathematical model of the problem is troublesome. Our interest was drawn to the application of deep learning for channel state information feedback reporting, a crucial problem in frequency division duplexing (FDD) 5G networks, where knowledge of the channel characteristics is fundamental to exploiting the full potential of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. We designed a framework adopting a 5G New Radio convolutional neural network, called NR-CsiNet, with the aim of compressing the channel matrix experienced by the user at the receiver side and then reconstructing it at the transmitter side. In contrast to similar solutions, our framework is based on a 5G New Radio fully compliant simulator, thus implementing a channel generator based on the latest 3GPP 3-D channel model. Moreover, realistic 5G scenarios are considered by including multi-receiving antenna schemes and noisy downlink channel estimation. Simulations were carried out to analyze and compare the performance with current feedback reporting schemes, showing promising results for this approach from the point of view of the block error rate and throughput of the 5G data channel. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an efficient multicarrier scheme that uses different types of guard intervals such as cyclic prefix (CP) and known symbol padding (KSP) (zero padding (ZP), unique word (UW), etc.) in block formation. Among these guard intervals, CP varies for each block, while other guard intervals remain fixed from block to block. These guard intervals efficiently perform channel estimation, synchronization and remove inter-block interference (IBI); nevertheless, none of the existing schemes develop any relationship between the guard interval (sequence) and the data symbols on different subcarriers of the OFDM block. We present a new idea of selecting the guard interval based on the data symbols of a subset of subcarriers in the block and exploit the high auto-correlation of the selected guard sequence to improve the bit error rate (BER) performance of the system. The results based on a fair comparison show that our enhanced orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (eOFDM) scheme inherits significant improvements in BER and the capacity of a multicarrier system as compared to the existing techniques. In this paper, we address the design of multi-user multiple-input single-output (MU-MISO) precoders for indoor visible light communication (VLC) systems. The goal is to minimize the transmitted optical power per light emitting diode (LED) under imperfect channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter side. Robust precoders for imperfect CSI available in the literature include noisy and outdated channel estimation cases. However, to the best of our knowledge, no work has considered adding robustness against channel quantization. In this paper, we fill this gap by addressing the case of imperfect CSI due to the quantization of VLC channels. We model the quantization errors in the CSI through polyhedric uncertainty regions. For polyhedric uncertainty regions and positive real channels, as is the case of VLC channels, we show that the robust precoder against channel quantization errors that minimizes the transmitted optical power while guaranteeing a target signal to noise plus interference ratio (SNIR) per user is the solution of a second order cone programming (SOCP) problem. With the standardization and commercialization of 5G, research on 6G technology has begun. In this paper, a new low-complexity soft-input–soft-output (SISO) adaptive detection algorithm for short CPM bursts is proposed for low-power, massive Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity in 6G. First, a time-invariant trellis is constructed on the basis of truncation in order to reduce the number of states. Then, adaptive channel estimators, recursive least squares (RLS), or least mean squares (LMS), are assigned to each hypothetical sequence by using the recursive structure of the trellis, and per-survivor processing (PSP) is used to improve the quality of channel estimation and reduce the number of searching paths. Then, the RLS adaptive symbol detector (RLS-ASD) and LMS adaptive symbol detector (LMS-ASD) could be acquired. Compared to using a least-squares estimator, the RLS-ASD avoids matrix inversion for the computation of branch metrics, while the LMS-ASD further reduces the steps in the RLS-ASD at the cost of performance. Lastly, a soft information iteration process is used to further improve performance via turbo equalization. Simulation results and analysis show that the RLS-ASD improves performance by about 1 dB compared to the state-of-the-art approach in time-variant environments while keeping a similar complexity. In addition, the LMS-ASD could further significantly reduce complexity with a power loss of approximately 1 dB. Methods to prevent collisions between people to avoid traffic accidents are receiving significant attention. To measure the position in the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) area, which cannot be directly visually recognized, position-measuring methods use wireless-communication-type GPS and propagation characteristics of radio signals, such as received signal strength indication (RSSI). However, conventional position estimation methods using RSSI require multiple receivers, which decreases the position estimation accuracy, owing to the presence of surrounding buildings. This study proposes a system to solve this challenge using a receiver and position estimation method based on RSSI MAP simulation and particle filter. Moreover, this study utilizes BLE peripheral/central functions capable of advertising as the transmitter/receiver. By using the advertising radio waves, our method provides a framework for estimating the position of unspecified transmitters. The effectiveness of the proposed system is evaluated in this study through simulations and experiments in actual environments. We obtained an error average of the distance to be 1.6 m from the simulations, which shows the precision of the proposed method. In the actual environment, the proposed method showed an error average of the distance to be 3.3 m. Furthermore, we evaluated the accuracy of the proposed method when both the transmitter and receiver are in motion, which can be considered as a moving person in the outdoor NLOS area. The result shows an error of 4.5 m. Consequently, we concluded that the accuracy was comparable when the transmitter is stationary and when it is moving. Compared with conventional path loss, the model can measure distances of 3 m to 10 m, whereas the proposed method can estimate the "position" with the same accuracy in an outdoor environment. To achieve fast and accurate channel estimation of reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted multiple-input single-output (MISO) systems, we propose an accelerated bilinear alternating least squares algorithm (ABALS) based on parallel factor decomposition. Firstly, we build a tensor model of the received signal, and expand it to obtain the unfolded forms of the model. Secondly, we derive the expression of the estimation problem of two channels based on the unfolded forms to transform the problem into a cost function problem. Furthermore, we solve the cost function problem by introducing a simpler iterative optimization constraint and linear interpolation. Finally, we provide a strategy on the receiver design based on the feasibility conditions discussed in this paper, which can guarantee the uniqueness of the channel estimation problem. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain a faster estimation speed and less iteration steps than the alternating least squares (ALS) algorithm, and the accuracy of the two algorithms is very close. In this article, a superposition-based covert channel and its demodulator were proposed and examined. As a covert waveform, an 8FSK modulation was selected. The impact of the channel estimation error and resulting imperfect SIC operation (successive interference cancelation) on the covert information demodulation process was considered. Especially for this imperfection, an NN-based demodulator was proposed. The superiority of this solution over the traditional 8FSK correlator-based receiver was examined for various cases, including the hard- and soft-decision detectors. It was proven that, although NN does not provide BER values equal to zero, even for the perfect SIC, it generally overcomes the traditional correlator-based 8FSK demodulator. Simulation results showed that the NN-base demodulator, in the case of additional covert channel coding, provides error-free demodulation, even for four-times greater channel gain error. To solve the problem that the traditional ambiguity function cannot well reflect the time-frequency distribution characteristics of linear frequency modulated (LFM) signals due to the presence of impulsive noise, two robust ambiguity functions: correntropy-based ambiguity function (CRAF) and fractional lower order correntropy-based ambiguity function (FLOCRAF) are defined based on the feature that correntropy kernel function can effectively suppress impulsive noise. Then these two robust ambiguity functions are used to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of narrowband LFM signal under an impulsive noise environment. Instead of the covariance matrix used in the ESPRIT algorithm by the spatial CRAF matrix and FLOCRAF matrix, the CRAF-ESPRIT and FLOCRAF-ESPRIT algorithms are proposed. Computer simulation results show that compared with the algorithms only using ambiguity function and the algorithms only using the correntropy kernel function-based correlation, the proposed algorithms using ambiguity function based on correntropy kernel function have good performance in terms of probability of resolution and estimation accuracy under various circumstances. Especially, the performance of the FLOCRAF-ESPRIT algorithm is better than the CRAF-ESPRIT algorithm in the environment of low generalized signal-to-noise ratio and strong impulsive noise. Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has great potential to implement the fifth-generation (5G) requirements of wireless communication. For a NOMA traditional detection method, successive interference cancellation (SIC) plays a vital role at the receiver side for both uplink and downlink transmission. Due to the complex multipath channel environment and prorogation of error problems, the traditional SIC method has a limited performance. To overcome the limitation of traditional detection methods, the deep-learning method has an advantage for the highly efficient tool. In this paper, a deep neural network which has bi-directional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) for multiuser uplink channel estimation (CE) and signal detection of the originally transmitted signal is proposed. Unlike the traditional CE schemes, the proposed Bi-LSTM model can directly recover multiuser transmission signals suffering from channel distortion. In the offline training stage, the Bi-LTSM model is trained using simulation data based on channel statistics. Then, the trained model is used to recover the transmitted symbols in the online deployment stage. In the simulation results, the performance of the proposed model is compared with the convolutional neural network model and traditional CE schemes such as MMSE and LS. It is shown that the proposed method provides feasible improvements in performance in terms of symbol-error rate and signal-to-noise ratio, making it suitable for 5G wireless communication and beyond. The purpose of this work is to present a flexible system that supports the study of wideband underwater acoustic communications (UAC). It has been developed both to measure channels and to test transmission techniques under realistic conditions in the ultrasonic band. This platform consists of a hardware (HW) part that includes multiple hydrophones, projectors, analog front-ends, acquisition boards, and computers, and a software (SW) part for the generation, reception, and management of acoustic sounding signals and noise. UAC channels are among the most hostile ones and exhibit an important attenuation and distortion, essentially due to both multipath propagation, which results in a very long channel impulse response, and time-varying behavior, which produces a notable Doppler spread. To cope with this challenging medium, sophisticated transmission techniques must be employed. In this sense, adequate signal processing algorithms have been designed aiming not only at the analysis and characterization of underwater communication channels but also at the evaluation of diverse modulation, detection, and coding schemes, from Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) to single-carrier digital modulations with a single-input multiple-output (SIMO) configuration that takes advantage of diversity techniques. Wideband sounding signals, to be injected into the sea from the transmitter side, are created with patterns that allow multiple tests on a batch. With offline processing of the captured data at the receiver side, different trials can be carried out in a very flexible manner. The different aspects of the platform are described in detail: the HW equipment used, the SW interface to control acquisition boards, and the signal processing algorithms to estimate the UAC channel response. Accurate channel state information (CSI) is important for MIMO systems, especially in a high-speed scenario, fast time-varying CSI tends to be out of date, and a change in CSI shows complex nonlinearities. The kernel recursive least-squares (KRLS) algorithm, which offers an attractive framework to deal with nonlinear problems, can be used in predicting nonlinear time-varying CSI. However, the network structure of the traditional KRLS algorithm grows as the training sample size increases, resulting in insufficient storage space and increasing computation when dealing with incoming data, which limits the online prediction of the KRLS algorithm. This paper proposed a new sparse sliding-window KRLS (SSW-KRLS) algorithm where a candidate discard set is selected through correlation analysis between the mapping vectors in the kernel Hilbert spaces of the new input sample and the existing samples in the kernel dictionary; then, the discarded sample is determined in combination with its corresponding output to achieve dynamic sample updates. Specifically, the proposed SSW-KRLS algorithm maintains the size of the kernel dictionary within the sample budget requires a fixed amount of memory and computation per time step, incorporates regularization, and achieves online prediction. Moreover, in order to sufficiently track the strongly changeable dynamic characteristics, a forgetting factor is considered in the proposed algorithm. Numerical simulations demonstrate that, under a realistic channel model of 3GPP in a rich scattering environment, our proposed algorithm achieved superior performance in terms of both predictive accuracy and kernel dictionary size than that of the ALD-KRLS algorithm. Our proposed SSW-KRLS algorithm with M = 90 achieved 2 dB NMSE less than that of the ALD-KRLS algorithm with v = 0.001 , while the kernel dictionary was about 17% smaller when the speed of the mobile user was 120 km/h. Automatic modulation recognition (AMR) is an essential component in the design of smart radios that can intelligently communicate with their surroundings in order to make the most efficient use of available resources. Throughout the last few decades, this issue has been subjected to in-depth examination in the published research literature. To the best of the authors' knowledge, there have only been a few studies that have been specifically devoted to the task of performing AMR across cooperative wireless transmissions. In this contribution, we examine the AMR problem in the context of amplify-and-forward (AAF) two-path consecutive relaying systems (TCRS) for the first time in the literature. We leverage the property of data redundancy associated with AAF-TCRS signals to design a decision feedback iterative modulation recognizer via an expectation-maximization procedure. The proposed recognizer incorporates the soft information produced by the data detection process as a priori knowledge to generate the a posteriori expectations of the information symbols, which are employed as training symbols. The proposed algorithm additionally involves the development of an estimate of the channel coefficients as a secondary activity. The simulation outcomes have validated the feasibility of the proposed design by demonstrating its capacity to achieve an excellent recognition performance under a wide range of running conditions. According to the findings, the suggested technique converges within six rounds, achieving perfect recognition performance at a signal-to-noise ratio of 14 dB. Furthermore, the minimal pilot-to-frame-size ratio necessary to successfully execute the iterative procedure is 0.07. In addition, the proposed method is essentially immune to time offset and performs well throughout a broad range of frequency offset. In a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) assisted millimeter Wave (mmWave) communication system, the channel coefficient increases exponentially with the number of RIS elements which results in expensive pilot overhead. Most previous works have proposed some channel estimation algorithms for the estimation accuracy of cascaded channels, which have improved the estimation accuracy, but the pilot overhead is discouraging in the estimation process. To improve the channel estimation accuracy with reduced pilot overhead, we propose a two-stage channel estimation protocol by exploiting semi-passive elements and the coherent time difference of the channel, where the quasi-static channel between the base stations (BS) and RIS is estimated at the RIS, and the user (UE)-RIS time-varying channel is estimated at the BS. In the first stage, we formulate the BS-RIS channel estimation as a mathematical optimization problem by an iterative weighting method and then propose a gradient descent (GD)-based algorithm to solve it. In the second stage, we first transform the received the UE-RIS signal model into an equivalent parallel factor (PARAFAC) tensor model and estimate the UE-RIS channel by the least-squares (LS) algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed method has better estimation accuracy than the LS, compression sensing (CS) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) methods with less pilot overhead, and the spectral efficiency is improved by at least 10.5% compared to the other three methods. In classical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, inserting the cyclic prefix (CP) is necessary before each symbol to overcome the multi-path effect, which, however, occupies numerous time-frequency radio resources, resulting in hampered spectrum efficiency. To address this issue, in this paper, symbol repetition aware OFDM (SR-OFDM) is developed to lower the overhead of CP. In the proposed SR-OFDM, multiple symbols share the same CP with which we examine that the multi-path channels can also be overcome by a simple single-tap equalization without causing any interference. Moreover, after the discrete Fourier transform at the receiver, different symbols are proved to be separated in the time domain, which is beneficial for lowering the demodulation complexity. Furthermore, it is revealed that the above conclusions still hold even under timing synchronization errors, which makes the proposed SR-OFDM favorable in real systems. Display crosstalk defect detection is an important link in the display quality inspection process. We propose a crosstalk defect detection method based on salient color channel frequency domain filtering. Firstly, the salient color channel in RGBY is selected by the maximum relative entropy criterion, and the color quaternion matrix of the displayed image is formed with the Lab color space. Secondly, the image color quaternion matrix is converted into the logarithmic spectrum in the frequency domain through the hyper-complex Fourier transform. Finally, Gaussian threshold band-pass filtering and hyper-complex inverse Fourier transform are used to separate the low-contrast defects and background of the display image. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed algorithm reaches 96% for a variety of crosstalk defect detection. An intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is a programmable device that can be used to control electromagnetic waves propagation by changing the electric and magnetic properties of its surface. Therefore, IRS is considered a smart technology for the sixth generation (6G) of communication networks. In addition, machine learning (ML) techniques are now widely adopted in wireless communication as the computation power of devices has increased. As it is an emerging topic, we provide a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art on ML, especially on deep learning (DL)-based IRS-enhanced communication. We focus on their operating principles, channel estimation (CE), and the applications of machine learning to IRS-enhanced wireless networks. In addition, we systematically survey existing designs for IRS-enhanced wireless networks. Furthermore, we identify major issues and research opportunities associated with the integration of IRS and other emerging technologies for applications to next-generation wireless communication. For the receiver of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, linear detectors are an interesting option due to their good performance and low complexity. Nevertheless, MIMO systems lose diversity in exchange for eliminating interference when linear detectors are used. Aiming to maintain the system diversity while mitigating interference between users, this work proposes a scheduling scheme for the uplink of multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) systems that employ A antennas and the zero-forcing (ZF) detector at the receiver in the base station (BS). The channel model includes Rician fading and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) in an imperfect channel estimation scenario. The proposed scheme selects U users from a group of U t users to transmit simultaneously, so that the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is maximized. For this, an exact expression to evaluate the SNR of the users is obtained. With this result, the scheduling strategy is proposed. Results show that as U t increases, the outage probability (OP), and the bit error rate (BER) decrease as the system diversity increases, even when the system is completely loaded, i.e., when U = A . Moreover, it is shown that the scheduling scheme counteracts the imperfect channel estimation effects as U t increases. Finally, the proposed scheme is tested in presence of an external eavesdropper trying to decode the information sent by the users. With the increasing demand for wireless location services, it is of great interest to reduce the deployment cost of positioning systems. For this reason, indoor positioning based on WiFi has attracted great attention. Compared with the received signal strength indicator (RSSI), channel state information (CSI) captures the radio propagation environment more accurately. However, it is necessary to take signal bandwidth, interferences, noises, and other factors into account for accurate CSI-based positioning. In this paper, we propose a novel dictionary filtering method that uses the direct weight determination method of a neural network to denoise the dictionary and uses compressive sensing (CS) to extract the channel impulse response (CIR). A high-precision time-of-arrival (TOA) is then estimated by peak search. A median value filtering algorithm is used to locate target devices based on the time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) technique. We demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed scheme experimentally, using data collected with a WiFi positioning testbed. This paper studies the secrecy coding analysis achieved by the self-jamming technique in the presence of an eavesdropper by considering a short-packet Full-Duplex (FD) transmission developed based on iterative blind or semi-blind channel estimation and advanced decoding algorithms. Indeed, the legitimate receiver and eavesdropper can simultaneously receive the intended signal from the transmitter and broadcast a self-jamming or jamming signal to the others. Unlike other conventional techniques without feedback, the blind or semi-blind algorithm applied at the legitimate receiver can simultaneously estimate, firstly, the Self-Interference (SI) channel to cancel the SI component and, secondly, estimate the propagation channel, then decode the intended messages by using 5G Quasi-Cyclic Low-Density Parity Check (QC-LDPC) codes. Taking into account the passive eavesdropper case, the blind channel estimation with a feedback scheme is applied, where the temporary estimation of the intended channel and the decoded message are fed back to improve both the channel estimation and the decoding processes. Only the blind algorithm needs to be implemented in the case of a passive eavesdropper because it achieves sufficient performances and does not require adding pilot symbols as the semi-blind algorithm. In the case of an active eavesdropper, based on its robustness in the low region of the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), the semi-blind algorithm is considered by trading four pilot symbols and only requiring the feedback for channel estimation processes in order to overcome the increase in noise in the legitimate receiver. The results show that the blind or semi-blind algorithms outperform the conventional algorithm in terms of Mean Square Error (MSE), Bit Error Rate (BER) and security gap ( S g ). In addition, it has been shown that the blind or semi-blind algorithms are less sensitive to high SI and self-jamming interference power levels imposed by secured FD transmission than the conventional algorithms without feedback. The millimeter wave (mmWave) channel is dominated by line-of-sight propagation. Therefore, the acquisition of angle-of-arrival (AoA) and polarization state of the wave is of great significance to the receiver. In this paper, we investigate AoA and polarization estimation in a mmWave system employing dual-polarized antenna arrays. We propose an enhanced AoA estimation method using a localized hybrid dual-polarized array for a polarized mmWave signal. The use of dual-polarized arrays greatly improves the calibration of differential signals and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the phase offset estimation between adjacent subarrays. Given the estimated phase offset, an initial AoA estimate can be obtained, and is then used to update the phase offset estimation. This leads to a recursive estimation with improved accuracy. We further propose an enhanced polarization estimation method, which uses the power of total received signals at dual-polarized antennas to compute the cross-correlation-to-power ratio instead of using only one axis dipole. Thus the accuracy of polarization parameter estimation is improved. We also derive a closed-form expression for mean square error lower bounds of AoA estimation and present an average SNR analysis for polarization estimation performance. Most terahertz (THz) radar systems can only work in the near-field region, because the THz source power is limited and the size of the target scattered near field is up to tens of kilometers. Such conditions will result in the conventional radar range equation being unsuitable. Therefore, the near-field radar cross section (RCS) formula is given according to the numerical simulation on different targets. By modifying the parameters in the near field, including the gain of radar antennas and the RCS of targets, the generalized radar range equation is proposed. The THz radar working efficiency in the whole range and the simulation of the near-field RCS simulation model were employed to validate its effectiveness. Through comparison with the radar range equation, it can be concluded that the calculation results of the proposed equation are smaller in the near field, and the outcomes in the far field are identical. The proposed generalized radar range equation can be applied to the whole radiation area including the near field and the far field. Furthermore, more complicated real targets are calculated according to the generalized radar range equation and it can be extended from the submillimeter wave band to a much wider band range. Finally, the near-field radar theory is established, which shows its potential application to the radar cross section estimation in the extremely high frequency and fine design of THz radar systems. The deployment of heterogeneous networks (HetNets) is a way to increase the network capacity and release part of the traffic generated by users inside a cell to small-scale wireless networks for service. In this context, the main problem is managing the interference due to the coexistence of small cells and macro cells. In this paper, a QoS-aware Resource Allocation (RA) algorithm jointly working with admission control (AC) over a two-tier HetNet scenario is investigated in the presence of both the pilot-symbols for channel estimation and the channel estimation error. The RA algorithm allows two users, the macro cell user (CU) and small cell user (SU), to simultaneously share the same resource block. Moreover, system performance and fairness are improved by including adaptive power allocation to users over resource blocks. In the framework of RA with proportional rate constraints, a novel algorithm is designed by including the effects of pilot-aided channel estimation. The algorithm is able to distribute the same proportional rate to all CUs and SUs, even in the presence of channel estimation error. Relevant numerical results for the downlink of a two-tier HetNet with pilot-aided channel estimation show that the rate dispersion is driven to zero while the sum-rate is maximized, and the average user rate penalty with respect to a perfect-CSI scenario may rise to 20%. This paper proposes a low-complexity algorithm for a reinforcement learning-based channel estimator for multiple-input multiple-output systems. The proposed channel estimator utilizes detected symbols to reduce the channel estimation error. However, the detected data symbols may include errors at the receiver owing to the characteristics of the wireless channels. Thus, the detected data symbols are selectively used as additional pilot symbols. To this end, a Markov decision process (MDP) problem is defined to optimize the selection of the detected data symbols. Subsequently, a reinforcement learning algorithm is developed to solve the MDP problem with computational efficiency. The developed algorithm derives the optimal policy in a closed form by introducing backup samples and data subblocks, to reduce latency and complexity. Simulations are conducted, and the results show that the proposed channel estimator significantly reduces the minimum-mean square error of the channel estimates, thus improving the block error rate compared to the conventional channel estimation. In MIMO-OFDM systems, pilot design and estimation algorithm jointly determine the reliability and effectiveness of pilot-based channel estimation methods. In order to improve the channel estimation accuracy with less pilot overhead, a deep learning scheme for joint pilot design and channel estimation is proposed. This new hybrid network structure is named CAGAN, which is composed of a concrete autoencoder (concrete AE) and a conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN). We first use concrete AE to find and select the most informative position in the time-frequency grid to achieve pilot optimization design and then input the optimized pilots to cGAN to complete channel estimation. Simulation experiments show that the CAGAN scheme outperforms the traditional LS and MMSE estimation methods with fewer pilots, and has good robustness to environmental noise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The proliferation of low-cost Internet of Things (IoT) devices has led to a race between wireless security and channel attacks. Traditional cryptography requires high computational power and is not suitable for low-power IoT scenarios. Whilst recently developed physical layer security (PLS) can exploit common wireless channel state information (CSI), its sensitivity to channel estimation makes them vulnerable to attacks. In this work, we exploit an alternative common physics shared between IoT transceivers: the monitored channel-irrelevant physical networked dynamics (e.g., water/oil/gas/electrical signal-flows). Leveraging this, we propose, for the first time, graph layer security (GLS), by exploiting the dependency in physical dynamics among network nodes for information encryption and decryption. A graph Fourier transform (GFT) operator is used to characterise such dependency into a graph-bandlimited subspace, which allows the generation of channel-irrelevant cipher keys by maximising the secrecy rate. We evaluate our GLS against designed active and passive attackers, using IEEE 39-Bus system. Results demonstrate that GLS is not reliant on wireless CSI, and can combat attackers that have partial networked dynamic knowledge (realistic access to full dynamic and critical nodes remains challenging). Millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems can significantly reduce the number of radio frequency (RF) chains by using lens antenna arrays, because it is usually the case that the number of RF chains is often much smaller than the number of antennas, so channel estimation becomes very challenging in practical wireless communication. In this paper, we investigated channel estimation for mmWave massive MIMO system with lens antenna array, in which we use a mixed (low/high) resolution analog-to-digital converter (ADC) architecture to trade-off the power consumption and performance of the system. Specifically, most antennas are equipped with low-resolution ADC and the rest of the antennas use high-resolution ADC. By utilizing the sparsity of the mmWave channel, the beamspace channel estimation can be expressed as a sparse signal recovery problem, and the channel can be recovered by the algorithm based on compressed sensing. We compare the traditional channel estimation scheme with the deep learning channel-estimation scheme, which has a better advantage, such as that the estimation scheme based on deep neural network is significantly better than the traditional channel-estimation algorithm. In a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system, the successive interference cancellation (SIC) procedure is typically employed at the receiver side, where several user's signals are decoded in a subsequent manner. Fading channels may disperse the transmitted signal and originate dependencies among its samples, which may affect the channel estimation procedure and consequently affect the SIC process and signal detection accuracy. In this work, the impact of Deep Neural Network (DNN) in explicitly estimating the channel coefficients for each user in NOMA cell is investigated in both Rayleigh and Rician fading channels. The proposed approach integrates the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network into the NOMA system where this LSTM network is utilized to predict the channel coefficients. DNN is trained using different channel statistics and then utilized to predict the desired channel parameters that will be exploited by the receiver to retrieve the original data. Furthermore, this work examines how the channel estimation based on Deep Learning (DL) and power optimization scheme are jointly utilized for multiuser (MU) recognition in downlink Power Domain Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (PD-NOMA) system. Power factors are optimized with a view to maximize the sum rate of the users on the basis of entire power transmitted and Quality of service (QoS) constraints. An investigation for the optimization problem is given where Lagrange function and Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) optimality conditions are applied to deduce the optimum power coefficients. Simulation results for different metrics, such as bit error rate (BER), sum rate, outage probability and individual user capacity, have proved the superiority of the proposed DL-based channel estimation over conventional NOMA approach. Quantum sensing and quantum metrology propose schemes for the estimation of physical properties, such as lengths, time intervals, and temperatures, achieving enhanced levels of precision beyond the possibilities of classical strategies. However, such an enhanced sensitivity usually comes at a price: the use of probes in highly fragile states, the need to adaptively optimise the estimation schemes to the value of the unknown property we want to estimate, and the limited working range, are some examples of challenges which prevent quantum sensing protocols to be practical for applications. This work reviews two feasible estimation schemes which address these challenges, employing easily realisable resources, i.e., squeezed light, and achieve the desired quantum enhancement of the precision, namely the Heisenberg-scaling sensitivity. In more detail, it is here shown how to overcome, in the estimation of any parameter affecting in a distributed manner multiple components of an arbitrary M-channel linear optical network, the need to iteratively optimise the network. In particular, we show that this is possible with a single-step adaptation of the network based only on a prior knowledge of the parameter achievable through a "classical" shot-noise limited estimation strategy. Furthermore, homodyne measurements with only one detector allow us to achieve Heisenberg-limited estimation of the parameter. In this paper, we investigate a downlink cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network with decode-and-forward relaying, where two scenarios of user relaying with direct link and user relaying without direct link are discussed in detail. More particularly, the performance of cooperative NOMA system under the assumption of imperfect channel state information (ipCSI) is studied over Nakagami-m fading channels. To evaluate the outage performance of the above discussed two scenarios, the closed-form expressions of outage probability for a pair of users are derived carefully. The diversity orders of users are achieved in the high signal-to-noise region. An error floor appears in the outage probability owing to the existence of channel estimation errors under ipCSI conditions. Simulation results verify the validity of our analysis and show that: (1) NOMA is superior to conventional orthogonal multiple access; (2) The best user relaying location for cooperative NOMA networks should be near to the base station; and (3) The outage performance of distant user with direct link significantly outperforms distant user without direct link by comparing the two scenarios.
