Bridge deck pavement damage has a significant effect on the driving safety and long-term durability of bridges. To achieve the damage detection and localization of bridge deck pavement, a three-stage detection method based on the you-only-look-once version 7 (YOLOv7) network and the revised LaneNet was proposed in this study. In stage 1, the Road Damage Dataset 202 (RDD2022) is preprocessed and adopted to train the YOLOv7 model, and five classes of damage were obtained. In stage 2, the LaneNet network was pruned to retain the semantic segmentation part, with the VGG16 network as an encoder to generate lane line binary images. In stage 3, the lane line binary images were post-processed by a proposed image processing algorithm to obtain the lane area. Based on the damage coordinates from stage 1, the final pavement damage classes and lane localization were obtained. The proposed method was compared and analyzed in the RDD2022 dataset, and was applied on the Fourth Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge in China. The results shows that the mean average precision (mAP) of YOLOv7 on the preprocessed RDD2022 dataset reaches 0.663, higher than that of other models in the YOLO series. The accuracy of the lane localization of the revised LaneNet is 0.933, higher than that of instance segmentation, 0.856. Meanwhile, the inference speed of the revised LaneNet is 12.3 frames per second (FPS) on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, higher than that of instance segmentation 6.53 FPS. In China, traditional techniques for measuring structural subsidence cannot keep pace with the rapid development of critical national infrastructure such as the growing network of highspeed railways. Traditional monitoring methods using leveling instruments are inefficient and time consuming when monitoring structures like bridges and tunnels. Thus, a fast, economical, and more accurate and precise way to survey building subsidence is urgently needed to address this problem. This paper introduces a new close-range photogrammetry technique that deploys a fixed camera with tilt compensator to measure changes in height over small areas. A barcode subsidence mark that can be identified automatically during digital image processing replaces the leveling points used in traditional methods. Four experiments at different locations verified that results from the new method were stable and consistent with total station measurements. This paper presents a solution for the license plate recognition problem in residential community administrations in China. License plate images are pre-processed through gradation, middle value filters and edge detection. In the license plate localization module the number of edge points, the length of license plate area and the number of each line of edge points are used for localization. In the recognition module, the paper applies a statistical character method combined with a structure character method to obtain the characters. In addition, more models and template library for the characters which have less difference between each other are built. A character classifier is designed and a fuzzy recognition method is proposed based on the fuzzy decision-making method. Experiments show that the recognition accuracy rate is up to 92%. The Three Gorges is a region with a very high landslide distribution density and a concentrated population. In Three Gorges there are often landslide disasters, and the potential risk of landslides is tremendous. In this paper, focusing on Three Gorges, which has a complicated landform, spatial forecasting of landslides is studied by establishing 20 forecast factors (spectra, texture, vegetation coverage, water level of reservoir, slope structure, engineering rock group, elevation, slope, aspect, etc). China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite (Cbers) images were adopted based on C4.5 decision tree to mine spatial forecast landslide criteria in Guojiaba Town (Zhigui County) in Three Gorges and based on this knowledge, perform intelligent spatial landslide forecasts for Guojiaba Town. All landslides lie in the dangerous and unstable regions, so the forecast result is good. The method proposed in the paper is compared with seven other methods: IsoData, K-Means, Mahalanobis Distance, Maximum Likelihood, Minimum Distance, Parallelepiped and Information Content Model. Image classification is a fundamental task in remote sensing image processing. In recent years, deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) have experienced significant breakthroughs in natural image recognition. The remote sensing field, however, is still lacking a large-scale benchmark similar to ImageNet. In this paper, we propose a remote sensing image classification benchmark (RSI-CB) based on massive, scalable, and diverse crowdsourced data. Using crowdsourced data, such as Open Street Map (OSM) data, ground objects in remote sensing images can be annotated effectively using points of interest, vector data from OSM, or other crowdsourced data. These annotated images can, then, be used in remote sensing image classification tasks. Based on this method, we construct a worldwide large-scale benchmark for remote sensing image classification. This benchmark has large-scale geographical distribution and large total image number. It contains six categories with 35 sub-classes of more than 24,000 images of size 256 × 256 pixels. This classification system of ground objects is defined according to the national standard of land-use classification in China and is inspired by the hierarchy mechanism of ImageNet. Finally, we conduct numerous experiments to compare RSI-CB with the SAT-4, SAT-6, and UC-Merced data sets. The experiments show that RSI-CB is more suitable as a benchmark for remote sensing image classification tasks than other benchmarks in the big data era and has many potential applications.
