In today's world, a significant amount of global energy is used in buildings. Unfortunately, a lot of this energy is wasted, because electrical appliances are not used properly or efficiently. One way to reduce this waste is by detecting, learning, and predicting when people are present in buildings. To do this, buildings need to become "smart" and "cognitive" and use modern technologies to sense when and how people are occupying the buildings. By leveraging this information, buildings can make smart decisions based on recently developed methods. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies that have been designed and used for the monitoring of indoor environmental conditions within buildings. Using these technologies is crucial to gathering data about the indoor environment and determining the number and presence of occupants. Furthermore, this paper critically examines both the strengths and limitations of each technology in predicting occupant behavior. In addition, it explores different methods for processing these data and making future occupancy predictions. Moreover, we highlight some challenges, such as determining the optimal number and location of sensors and radars, and provide a detailed explanation and insights into these challenges. Furthermore, the paper explores possible future directions, including the security of occupants' data and the promotion of energy-efficient practices such as localizing occupants and monitoring their activities within a building. With the continuous advancement of sensing technology, applying large amounts of sensor data to practical prediction processes using artificial intelligence methods has become a developmental direction. In sensing images and remote sensing meteorological data, the dynamic changes in the prediction targets relative to their background information often exhibit more significant dynamic characteristics. Previous prediction methods did not specifically analyze and study the dynamic change information of prediction targets at spatiotemporal multi-scale. Therefore, this paper proposes a neural prediction network based on perceptual multi-scale spatiotemporal dynamic changes (PMSTD-Net). By designing Multi-Scale Space Motion Change Attention Unit (MCAU) to perceive the local situation and spatial displacement dynamic features of prediction targets at different scales, attention is ensured on capturing the dynamic information in their spatial dimensions adequately. On this basis, this paper proposes Multi-Scale Spatiotemporal Evolution Attention (MSEA) unit, which further integrates the spatial change features perceived by MCAU units in higher channel dimensions, and learns the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics at different scales, effectively predicting the dynamic characteristics and regularities of targets in sensor information.Through experiments on spatiotemporal prediction standard datasets such as Moving MNIST, video prediction dataset KTH, and Human3.6m, PMSTD-Net demonstrates prediction performance surpassing previous methods. We construct the GPM satellite remote sensing precipitation dataset, demonstrating the network's advantages in perceiving multi-scale spatiotemporal dynamic changes in remote sensing meteorological data. Tool wear prediction is of great significance in industrial production. Current tool wear prediction methods mainly rely on the indirect estimation of machine learning, which focuses more on estimating the current tool wear state and lacks effective quantification of random uncertainty factors. To overcome these shortcomings, this paper proposes a novel method for predicting cutting tool wear. In the offline phase, the multiple degradation features were modeled using the Brownian motion stochastic process and a SVR model was trained for mapping the features and the tool wear values. In the online phase, the Bayesian inference was used to update the random parameters of the feature degradation model, and the future trend of the features was estimated using simulation samples. The estimation results were input into the SVR model to achieve in-advance prediction of the cutting tool wear in the form of distribution densities. Aiming at the problems of Uyghur oblique deformation, character adhesion and character similarity in scene images, this paper proposes a scene Uyghur recognition model with enhanced visual prediction. First, the content-aware correction network TPS++ is used to perform feature-level correction for skewed text. Then, ABINet is used as the basic recognition network, and the U-Net structure in the vision model is improved to aggregate horizontal features, suppress multiple activation phenomena, better describe the spatial characteristics of character positions, and alleviate the problem of character adhesion. Finally, a visual masking semantic awareness (VMSA) module is added to guide the vision model to consider the language information in the visual space by masking the corresponding visual features on the attention map to obtain more accurate visual prediction. This module can not only alleviate the correction load of the language model, but also distinguish similar characters using the language information. Aiming at the problem of poor prediction accuracy of Channel State Information (CSI) caused by fast time-varying channels in wireless communication systems, this paper proposes a gated recurrent network based on experience replay and Snake Optimizer for real-time prediction in real-world non-stationary channels. Firstly, a two-channel prediction model is constructed by gated recurrent unit, which adapts to the real and imaginary parts of CSI. Secondly, we use the Snake Optimizer to find the optimal learning rate and the number of hidden layer elements to build the model. Finally, we utilize the experience pool to store recent historical CSI data for fast learning and complete learning. The simulation results show that, compared with LSTM, BiLSTM, and BiGRU, the gated recurrent network based on experience replay and Snake Optimizer has better performance in the optimization ability and convergence speed. To address the challenges faced in the prediction of rolling bearing life, where temporal signals are affected by noise, making fault feature extraction difficult and resulting in low prediction accuracy, a method based on optimal time–frequency spectra and the DenseNet-ALSTM network is proposed. Firstly, a signal reconstruction method is introduced to enhance vibration signals. This involves using the CEEMDAN deconvolution method combined with the Teager energy operator for signal reconstruction, aiming to denoise the signals and highlight fault impacts. Subsequently, a method based on the snake optimizer (SO) is proposed to optimize the generalized S-transform (GST) time–frequency spectra of the enhanced signals, obtaining the optimal time–frequency spectra. Finally, all sample data are transformed into the optimal time–frequency spectrum set and input into the DenseNet-ALSTM network for life prediction. The comparison experiment and ablation experiment show that the proposed method has high prediction accuracy and ideal prediction performance. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent form of arrhythmia, with a rising incidence and prevalence worldwide, posing significant implications for public health. In this paper, we introduce an approach that combines the Recurrence Plot (RP) technique and the ResNet architecture to predict AF. Our method involves three main steps: using wavelet filtering to remove noise interference; generating RPs through phase space reconstruction; and employing a multi-level chained residual network for AF prediction. To validate our approach, we established a comprehensive database consisting of electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings from 1008 AF patients and 48,292 Non-AF patients, with a total of 2067 and 93,129 ECGs, respectively. The experimental results demonstrated high levels of prediction precision (90.5%), recall (89.1%), F1 score (89.8%), accuracy (93.4%), and AUC (96%) on our dataset. Moreover, when tested on a publicly available AF dataset (AFPDB), our method achieved even higher prediction precision (94.8%), recall (99.4%), F1 score (97.0%), accuracy (97.0%), and AUC (99.7%). Bluetooth Low Energy Mesh (BLE Mesh) enables Bluetooth flexibility and coverage by introducing Low-Power Nodes (LPNs) and enhanced networking protocol. It is also a commonly used communication method in sensor networks. In BLE Mesh, LPNs are periodically woken to exchange messages in a stop-and-wait way, where the tradeoff between energy and efficiency is a hard problem. Related works have reduced the energy consumption of LPNs mainly in the direction of changing the bearer layer, improving time synchronization and broadcast channel utilization. These algorithms improve communication efficiency; however, they cause energy loss, especially for the LPNs. In this paper, we propose a constrained flooding algorithm based on time series prediction and lightweight GBN (Go-Back-N). On the one hand, the wake-up cycle of the LPNs is determined by the time series prediction of the surrounding load. On the other, LPNs exchange messages through lightweight GBN, which improves the window and ACK mechanisms. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the Time series Prediction and LlightWeight GBN (TP-LW) algorithm in energy consumption and throughput. In this paper, a practical discrete-time control method with adaptive image feature prediction for the image-based visual servoing (IBVS) scheme is presented. In the discrete-time IBVS inner-loop/outer-loop control architecture, the time delay caused by image capture and computation is noticed. Considering the dynamic characteristics of a 6-DOF manipulator velocity input system, we propose a linear dynamic model to describe the motion of a robot end effector. Furthermore, for better estimation of image features and smoothing of the robot's velocity input, we propose an adaptive image feature prediction method that employs past image feature data and real robot velocity data to adopt the prediction parameters. End-to-end disparity estimation algorithms based on cost volume deployed in edge-end neural network accelerators have the problem of structural adaptation and need to ensure accuracy under the condition of adaptation operator. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel disparity calculation algorithm that uses low-rank approximation to approximately replace 3D convolution and transposed 3D convolution, WReLU to reduce data compression caused by the activation function, and unimodal cost volume filtering and a confidence estimation network to regularize cost volume. It alleviates the problem of disparity-matching cost distribution being far away from the true distribution and greatly reduces the computational complexity and number of parameters of the algorithm while improving accuracy. Experimental results show that compared with a typical disparity estimation network, the absolute error of the proposed algorithm is reduced by 38.3%, the three-pixel error is reduced to 1.41%, and the number of parameters is reduced by 67.3%. Informed machine learning (IML), which strengthens machine learning (ML) models by incorporating external knowledge, can get around issues like prediction outputs that do not follow natural laws and models, hitting optimization limits. It is therefore of significant importance to investigate how domain knowledge of equipment degradation or failure can be incorporated into machine learning models to achieve more accurate and more interpretable predictions of the remaining useful life (RUL) of equipment. Based on the informed machine learning process, the model proposed in this paper is divided into the following three steps: (1) determine the sources of the two types of knowledge based on the device domain knowledge, (2) express the two forms of knowledge formally in Piecewise and Weibull, respectively, and (3) select different ways of integrating them into the machine learning pipeline based on the results of the formal expression of the two types of knowledge in the previous step. The experimental results show that the model has a simpler and more general structure than existing machine learning models and that it has higher accuracy and more stable performance in most datasets, particularly those with complex operational conditions, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the method in this paper on the C-MAPSS dataset and assists scholars in properly using domain knowledge to deal with the problem of insufficient training data. In general, judging the use/idle state of the wireless spectrum is the foundation for cognitive radio users (secondary users, SUs) to access limited spectrum resources efficiently. Rich information can be mined by the inherent correlation of electromagnetic spectrum data from SUs in time, frequency, space, and other dimensions. Therefore, how to efficiently use the spectrum status of each SU implementation of reception multidimensional combination forecasting is the core of this paper. In this paper, we propose a deep-learning hybrid model called TensorGCN-LSTM based on the tensor data structure. The model treats SUs deployed at different spatial locations under the same frequency, and the spectrum status of SUs themselves under different frequencies in the task area as nodes and constructs two types of graph structures. Graph convolutional operations are used to sequentially extract corresponding spatial-domain and frequency-domain features from the two types of graph structures. Then, the long short-term memory (LSTM) model is used to fuse the spatial, frequency, and temporal features of the cognitive radio environment data. Finally, the prediction task of the spectrum distribution situation is accomplished through fully connected layers. Specifically, the model constructs a tensor graph based on the spatial similarity of SUs' locations and the frequency correlation between different frequency signals received by SUs, which describes the electromagnetic wave's dependency relationship in spatial and frequency domains. LSTM is used to capture the electromagnetic wave's dependency relationship in the temporal domain. To evaluate the effectiveness of the model, we conducted ablation experiments on LSTM, GCN, GC-LSTM, and TensorGCN-LSTM models using simulated data. The experimental results showed that our model achieves better prediction performance in RMSE, and the correlation coefficient R2 of 0.8753 also confirms the feasibility of the model. Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a spectrum of motor and non-motor symptoms, prominently featuring the freezing of gait (FOG), which significantly impairs patients' quality of life. Despite extensive research, the precise mechanisms underlying FOG remain elusive, posing challenges for effective management and treatment. This paper presents a comprehensive meta-analysis of FOG prediction and detection methodologies, with a focus on the integration of wearable sensor technology and machine learning (ML) approaches. Through an exhaustive review of the literature, this study identifies key trends, datasets, preprocessing techniques, feature extraction methods, evaluation metrics, and comparative analyses between ML and non-ML approaches. The analysis also explores the utilization of cueing devices. The limited adoption of explainable AI (XAI) approaches in FOG prediction research represents a significant gap. Improving user acceptance and comprehension requires an understanding of the logic underlying algorithm predictions. Current FOG detection and prediction research has a number of limitations, which are identified in the discussion. These include issues with cueing devices, dataset constraints, ethical and privacy concerns, financial and accessibility restrictions, and the requirement for multidisciplinary collaboration. Future research avenues center on refining explainability, expanding and diversifying datasets, adhering to user requirements, and increasing detection and prediction accuracy. Predicting anomalies in manufacturing assembly lines is crucial for reducing time and labor costs and improving processes. For instance, in rocket assembly, premature part failures can lead to significant financial losses and labor inefficiencies. With the abundance of sensor data in the Industry 4.0 era, machine learning (ML) offers potential for early anomaly detection. However, current ML methods for anomaly prediction have limitations, with F1 measure scores of only 50% and 66% for prediction and detection, respectively. This is due to challenges like the rarity of anomalous events, scarcity of high-fidelity simulation data (actual data are expensive), and the complex relationships between anomalies not easily captured using traditional ML approaches. Specifically, these challenges relate to two dimensions of anomaly prediction: predicting when anomalies will occur and understanding the dependencies between them. This paper introduces a new method called Robust and Interpretable 2D Anomaly Prediction (RI2AP) designed to address both dimensions effectively. RI2AP is demonstrated on a rocket assembly simulation, showing up to a 30-point improvement in F1 measure compared to current ML methods. This highlights its potential to enhance automated anomaly prediction in manufacturing. Additionally, RI2AP includes a novel interpretation mechanism inspired by a causal-influence framework, providing domain experts with valuable insights into sensor readings and their impact on predictions. This paper presents a novel method for forecasting the impact of cloud cover on photovoltaic (PV) fields in the nowcasting term, utilizing PV panels as sensors in a combination of physical and persistence models and integrating energy storage system control. The proposed approach entails simulating a power network consisting of a 22 kV renewable energy source and energy storage, enabling the evaluation of network behavior in comparison to the national grid. Deep learning methodologies employed for biomass prediction often neglect the intricate relationships between labels and samples, resulting in suboptimal predictive performance. This paper introduces an advanced supervised contrastive learning technique, termed Improved Supervised Contrastive Deep Regression (SCDR), which is adept at effectively capturing the nuanced relationships between samples and labels in the feature space, thereby mitigating this limitation. Simultaneously, we propose the U-like Hierarchical Residual Fusion Network (BioUMixer), a bespoke biomass prediction network tailored for image data. BioUMixer enhances feature extraction from biomass image data, facilitating information exchange and fusion while considering both global and local features within the images. The efficacy of the proposed method is validated on the Pepper_Biomass dataset, which encompasses over 600 original images paired with corresponding biomass labels. The results demonstrate a noteworthy enhancement in deep regression tasks, as evidenced by performance metrics on the Pepper_Biomass dataset, including RMSE = 252.18, MAE = 201.98, and MAPE = 0.107. Additionally, assessment on the publicly accessible GrassClover dataset yields metrics of RMSE = 47.92, MAE = 31.74, and MAPE = 0.192. Rapid global urbanization has led to a growing urban population, posing challenges in transportation management. Persistent issues such as traffic congestion, environmental pollution, and safety risks persist despite attempts to mitigate them, hindering urban progress. This paper focuses on the critical need for accurate traffic flow forecasting, considered one of the main effective solutions for containing traffic congestion in urban scenarios. The challenge of predicting traffic flow is addressed by proposing a two-level machine learning approach. The first level uses an unsupervised clustering model to extract patterns from sensor-generated data, while the second level employs supervised machine learning models. For decades, soft sensors have been extensively renowned for their efficiency in real-time tracking of expensive variables for advanced process control. However, despite the diverse efforts lavished on enhancing their models, the issue of label sparsity when modeling the soft sensors has always posed challenges across various processes. In this paper, a fledgling technique, called co-training, is studied for leveraging only a small ratio of labeled data, to hone and formulate a more advantageous framework in soft sensor modeling. Dissimilar to the conventional routine where only two players are employed, we investigate the efficient number of players in batch processes, making a multiple-player learning scheme to assuage the sparsity issue. Meanwhile, a sliding window spanning across both time and batch direction is used to aggregate the samples for prediction, and account for the unique 2D correlations among the general batch process data. Altogether, the forged framework can outperform the other prevalent methods, especially when the ratio of unlabeled data is climbing up, and two case studies are showcased to demonstrate its effectiveness. Click-through rate prediction is a critical task for computational advertising and recommendation systems, where the key challenge is to model feature interactions between different feature domains. At present, the main click-through rate prediction models model feature interactions in an implicit way, which leads to poor interpretation of the model, and the interaction between each pair of features may introduce noise into the model, thus limiting the predictive ability of the model. In response to the above problems, this paper proposes a click-through rate prediction model (GAIAN) based on the graph attention interactive aggregation network, which explicitly obtains cross features on the graph structure. Our specific method is to design a feature interactive selection mechanism to select cross features that are beneficial to model prediction, reducing model noise and reducing the risk of model overfitting. On this basis, the bilinear interaction function is integrated into the aggregation strategy of the graph neural network, and the fine-grained intersection features are extracted in a flexible and explicit way, which makes graph neural networks more suitable for modeling feature interactions and enhances the interpretability of the model. Existing data-driven technology for prediction of state of health (SOH) has insufficient feature extraction capability and limited application scope. To deal with this challenge, this paper proposes a battery SOH prediction model based on multi-feature fusion. The model is based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) and a long short-term memory network (LSTM). The CNN can learn the cycle features in the battery data, the LSTM can learn the aging features of the battery over time, and regression prediction can be made through the full-connection layer (FC). In addition, for the aging differences caused by different battery operating conditions, this paper introduces transfer learning (TL) to improve the prediction effect. Across cycle data of the same battery under 12 different charging conditions, the fusion model in this paper shows higher prediction accuracy than with either LSTM and CNN in isolation, reducing RMSPE by 0.21% and 0.19%, respectively. Real-time computation tasks in vehicular edge computing (VEC) provide convenience for vehicle users. However, the efficiency of task offloading seriously affects the quality of service (QoS). The predictive-mode task offloading is limited by computation resources, storage resources and the timeliness of vehicle trajectory data. Meanwhile, machine learning is difficult to deploy on edge servers. In this paper, we propose a vehicle trajectory prediction method based on the vehicle frequent pattern for task offloading in VEC. First, in the initialization stage, a T-pattern prediction tree (TPPT) is constructed based on the historical vehicle trajectory data. Secondly, when predicting the vehicle trajectory, the vehicle frequent itemset with the largest vehicle trajectory support is found in the vehicle frequent itemset of the TPPT. Finally, in the update stage, the TPPT is updated in real time with the predicted vehicle trajectory results. Meanwhile, based on the proposed prediction method, the strategies of task offloading and optimization algorithm are designed to minimize energy consumption with time constraints. The experiments are carried out on real-vehicle datasets and the Capital Bikeshare datasets. The results show that compared with the baseline T-pattern method, the accuracy of the prediction method is improved by more than 10% and the prediction efficiency is improved by more than 6.5 times. Accurate prediction of vehicle acceleration has significant practical applications. Deep learning, as one of the methods for acceleration prediction, has shown promising applications in acceleration prediction. However, due to the influence of multiple factors on acceleration, a single data model may not be suitable for various driving scenarios. Therefore, this paper proposes a hybrid approach for vehicle acceleration prediction by combining clustering and deep learning techniques. Based on historical data of vehicle speed, acceleration, and distance to the preceding vehicle, the proposed method first clusters the acceleration patterns of vehicles. Subsequently, different prediction models and parameters are applied to each cluster, aiming to improve the prediction accuracy. By considering the unique characteristics of each cluster, the proposed method can effectively capture the diverse acceleration patterns. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach in terms of prediction accuracy compared to benchmarks. During the rice quality testing process, the precise segmentation and extraction of grain pixels is a key technique for accurately determining the quality of each seed. Due to the similar physical characteristics, small particles and dense distributions of rice seeds, properly analysing rice is a difficult problem in the field of target segmentation. In this paper, a network called SY-net, which consists of a feature extractor module, a feature pyramid fusion module, a prediction head module and a prototype mask generation module, is proposed for rice seed instance segmentation. In the feature extraction module, a transformer backbone is used to improve the ability of the network to learn rice seed features; in the pyramid fusion module and the prediction head module, a six-layer feature fusion network and a parallel prediction head structure are employed to enhance the utilization of feature information; and in the prototype mask generation module, a large feature map is used to generate high-quality masks. Training and testing were performed on two public datasets and one private rice seed dataset. The results showed that SY-net achieved a mean average precision (mAP) of 90.71% for the private rice seed dataset and an average precision (AP) of 16.5% with small targets in COCO2017. To improve the monitoring of the electrical power grid, it is necessary to evaluate the influence of contamination in relation to leakage current and its progression to a disruptive discharge. In this paper, insulators were tested in a saline chamber to simulate the increase of salt contamination on their surface. From the time series forecasting of the leakage current, it is possible to evaluate the development of the fault before a flashover occurs. In this paper, for a complete evaluation, the long short-term memory (LSTM), group method of data handling (GMDH), adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), bootstrap aggregation (bagging), sequential learning (boosting), random subspace, and stacked generalization (stacking) ensemble learning models are analyzed. From the results of the best structure of the models, the hyperparameters are evaluated and the wavelet transform is used to obtain an enhanced model. The contribution of this paper is related to the improvement of well-established models using the wavelet transform, thus obtaining hybrid models that can be used for several applications. The results showed that using the wavelet transform leads to an improvement in all the used models, especially the wavelet ANFIS model, which had a mean RMSE of 1.58 × 10 − 3 , being the model that had the best result. Furthermore, the results for the standard deviation were 2.18 × 10 − 19 , showing that the model is stable and robust for the application under study. Spectrum prediction is a promising technique to release spectrum resources and plays an essential role in cognitive radio networks and spectrum situation generating. Traditional algorithms normally focus on one-dimensional or predict spectrum values in a slot-by-slot manner and thus cannot fully perceive the spectrum states in complex environments and lack timeliness. In this paper, a deep learning-based prediction method with a simple structure is developed for temporal–spectral and multi-slot spectrum prediction simultaneously. Specifically, we first analyze and construct spectrum data suitable for the model to simultaneously achieve long-term and multi-dimensional spectrum prediction. Then, a hierarchical spectrum prediction system is developed that takes advantage of the advanced Bi-ConvLSTM and the seq2seq framework. The Bi-ConvLSTM captures time–frequency characteristics of spectrum data, and the seq2seq framework is used for long-term spectrum prediction. Furthermore, the attention mechanism is used to address the limitations of the seq2seq framework that compresses all inputs into fixed-length vectors, resulting in information loss. Finally, the experimental results have shown that the proposed model has a significant advantage over the benchmark schemes. Especially, the proposed spectrum prediction model achieves 6.15%, 0.7749, 1.0978, and 0.9628 in MAPE, MAE, RMSE, and R 2 , respectively, which is better than all the baseline deep learning models. Car-sharing systems require accurate demand prediction to ensure efficient resource allocation and scheduling decisions. However, developing precise predictive models for vehicle demand remains a challenging problem due to the complex spatio-temporal relationships. This paper introduces USTIN, the Unified Spatio-Temporal Inference Prediction Network, a novel neural network architecture for demand prediction. The model consists of three key components: a temporal feature unit, a spatial feature unit, and a spatio-temporal feature unit. The temporal unit utilizes historical demand data and comprises four layers, each corresponding to a different time scale (hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly). Meanwhile, the spatial unit incorporates contextual points of interest data to capture geographic demand factors around parking stations. Additionally, the spatio-temporal unit incorporates weather data to model the meteorological impacts across locations and time. We conducted extensive experiments on real-world car-sharing data. The proposed USTIN model demonstrated its ability to effectively learn intricate temporal, spatial, and spatiotemporal relationships, and outperformed existing state-of-the-art approaches. Photovoltaic (PV) power prediction plays a critical role amid the accelerating adoption of renewable energy sources. This paper introduces a bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) deep learning (DL) model designed for forecasting photovoltaic power one hour ahead. The dataset under examination originates from a small PV installation located at the Polytechnic School of the University of Alcala. To improve the quality of historical data and optimize model performance, a robust data preprocessing algorithm is implemented. The BiLSTM model is synergistically combined with a Bayesian optimization algorithm (BOA) to fine-tune its primary hyperparameters, thereby enhancing its predictive efficacy. The performance of the proposed model is evaluated across diverse meteorological and seasonal conditions. In deterministic forecasting, the findings indicate its superiority over alternative models employed in this research domain, specifically a multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural network model and a random forest (RF) ensemble model. Compared with the MLP and RF reference models, the proposed model achieves reductions in the normalized mean absolute error (nMAE) of 75.03% and 77.01%, respectively, demonstrating its effectiveness in this type of prediction. In recent years, the global upswing in vessel-bridge collisions underscores the vital need for robust vessel track identification in accident prevention. Contemporary vessel trajectory identification strategies often integrate target detection with trajectory tracking algorithms, employing models like YOLO integrated with DeepSORT or Bytetrack algorithms. However, the accuracy of these methods relies on target detection outcomes and the imprecise boundary acquisition method results in erroneous vessel trajectory identification and tracking, leading to both false positives and missed detections. This paper introduces a novel vessel trajectory identification framework. The Co-tracker, a long-term sequence multi-feature-point tracking method, accurately tracks vessel trajectories by statistically calculating the translation and heading angle transformation of feature point clusters, mitigating the impact of inaccurate vessel target detection. Subsequently, vessel trajectories are predicted using a combination of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and a Graph Attention Neural Network (GAT) to facilitate anomaly vessel trajectory warnings, ensuring precise predictions for vessel groups. Compared to prevalent algorithms like YOLO integrated with DeepSORT, our proposed method exhibits superior accuracy and captures crucial heading angle features. Importantly, it effectively mitigates the common issues of false positives and false negatives in detection and tracking tasks. Applied in the Three Rivers area of Ningbo, this research provides real-time vessel group trajectories and trajectory predictions. Structural response prediction with desirable accuracy is considerably essential for the health monitoring of bridges. However, it appears to be difficult in accurately extracting structural response features on account of complex on-site environment and noise disturbance, resulting in poor prediction accuracy of the response values. To address this issue, a Transformer-based bridge structural response prediction framework was proposed in this paper. The framework contains multi-layer encoder modules and attention modules that can precisely capture the history-dependent features in time-series data. The effectiveness of the proposed method was validated with the use of six-month strain response data of a concrete bridge, and the results are also compared with those of the most commonly used Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM)-based structural response prediction framework. The analysis indicated that the proposed method was effective in predicting structural response, with the prediction error less than 50% of the LSTM-based framework. Indoor localization is used to locate objects and people within buildings where outdoor tracking tools and technologies cannot provide precise results. This paper aims to improve analytics research, focusing on data collected through indoor localization methods. Smart devices recurrently broadcast automatic connectivity requests. These packets are known as Wi-Fi probe requests and can encapsulate various types of spatiotemporal information from the device carrier. In addition, in this paper, we perform a comparison between the Prophet model and our implementation of the autoregressive moving average (ARMA) model. The Prophet model is an additive model that requires no manual effort and can easily detect and handle outliers or missing data. In contrast, the ARMA model may require more effort and deep statistical analysis but allows the user to tune it and reach a more personalized result. Second, we attempted to understand human behaviour. We used historical data from a live store in Dubai to forecast the use of two different models, which we conclude by comparing. Subsequently, we mapped each probe request to the section of our place of interest where it was captured. Intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs) have played an important role in improving the intelligence degree of transportation systems, and improving the trajectory prediction capability of ICVs is beneficial for traffic efficiency and safety. In this paper, a real-time trajectory prediction method based on vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication is proposed for ICVs to improve the accuracy of their trajectory prediction. Firstly, this paper applies a Gaussian mixture probability hypothesis density (GM-PHD) model to construct the multidimension dataset of ICV states. Secondly, this paper adopts vehicular microscopic data with more dimensions, which is output by GM-PHD as the input of LSTM to ensure the consistency of the prediction results. Then, the signal light factor and Q-Learning algorithm were applied to improve the LSTM model, adding features in the spatial dimension to complement the temporal features used in the LSTM. When compared with the previous models, more consideration was given to the dynamic spatial environment. Finally, an intersection at Fushi Road in Shijingshan District, Beijing, was selected as the field test scenario. The final experimental results show that the GM-PHD model achieved an average error of 0.1181 m, which is a 44.05% reduction compared to the LiDAR-based model. Meanwhile, the error of the proposed model can reach 0.501 m. When compared to the social LSTM model, the prediction error was reduced by 29.43% under the average displacement error (ADE) metric. Understanding users' visual attention on websites is paramount to enhance the browsing experience, such as providing emergent information or dynamically adapting Web interfaces. Existing approaches to accomplish these challenges are generally based on the computation of salience maps of static Web interfaces, while websites increasingly become more dynamic and interactive. This paper proposes a method and provides a proof-of-concept to predict user's visual attention on specific regions of a website with dynamic components. This method predicts the regions of a user's visual attention without requiring a constant recording of the current layout of the website, but rather by knowing the structure it presented in a past period. To address this challenge, the concept of visit intention is introduced in this paper, defined as the probability that a user, while browsing, will fixate their gaze on a specific region of the website in the next period. Our approach uses the gaze patterns of a population that browsed a specific website, captured via an eye-tracker device, to aid personalized prediction models built with individual visual kinetics features. We show experimentally that it is possible to conduct such a prediction through multilabel classification models using a small number of users, obtaining an average area under curve of 84.3%, and an average accuracy of 79%. In the food industry, quality and safety issues are associated with consumers' health condition. There is a growing interest in applying various noninvasive sensorial techniques to obtain quickly quality attributes. One of them, hyperspectral/multispectral imaging technique has been extensively used for inspection of various food products. In this paper, a stacking-based ensemble prediction system has been developed for the prediction of total viable counts of microorganisms in beef fillet samples, an essential cause to meat spoilage, utilizing multispectral imaging information. As the selection of important wavelengths from the multispectral imaging system is considered as an essential stage to the prediction scheme, a features fusion approach has been also explored, by combining wavelengths extracted from various feature selection techniques. Ensemble sub-components include two advanced clustering-based neuro-fuzzy network prediction models, one utilizing information from average reflectance values, while the other one from the standard deviation of the pixels' intensity per wavelength. The performances of neurofuzzy models were compared against established regression algorithms such as multilayer perceptron, support vector machines and partial least squares. Obtained results confirmed the validity of the proposed hypothesis to utilize a combination of feature selection methods with neurofuzzy models in order to assess the microbiological quality of meat products. Mobile traffic prediction enables the efficient utilization of network resources and enhances user experience. In this paper, we propose a state transition graph-based spatial–temporal attention network (STG-STAN) for cell-level mobile traffic prediction, which is designed to exploit the underlying spatial–temporal dynamic information hidden in the historical mobile traffic data. Specifically, we first identify the semantic context information over different segments of the historical data by constructing the state transition graphs, which may reveal different patterns of random fluctuation. Then, based on the state transition graphs, a spatial attention extraction module using graph convolutional networks (GCNs) is designed to aggregate the spatial information of different nodes in the state transition graph. Moreover, a temporal extraction module is employed to capture the dynamic evolution and temporal correlation of the state transition graphs over time. Such a spatial–temporal attention network can be further integrated with a parallel long short-term memory (LSTM) module to improve the accuracy of mobile traffic prediction. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the STG-STAN can better exploit the spatial–temporal information hidden in the state transition graphs, achieving superior performance compared with several baselines. Adaptive Optics (AO) technology is an effective means to compensate for wavefront distortion, but its inherent delay error will cause the compensation wavefront on the deformable mirror (DM) to lag behind the changes in the distorted wavefront. Especially when the change in the wavefront is higher than the Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensor (SHWS) sampling frequency, the multi-frame delay will seriously limit its correction performance. In this paper, a highly stable AO prediction network based on deep learning is proposed, which only uses 10 frames of prior wavefront information to obtain high-stability and high-precision open-loop predicted slopes for the next six frames. The simulation results under various distortion intensities show that the prediction accuracy of six frames decreases by no more than 15%, and the experimental results also verify that the open-loop correction accuracy of our proposed method under the sampling frequency of 500 Hz is better than that of the traditional non-predicted method under 1000 Hz. Degradation stage prediction, which is crucial to monitoring the health condition of rolling bearings, can improve safety and reduce maintenance costs. In this paper, a novel degradation stage prediction method based on hierarchical grey entropy (HGE) and a grey bootstrap Markov chain (GBMC) is presented. Firstly, HGE is proposed as a new entropy that measures complexity, considers the degradation information embedded in both lower- and higher-frequency components and extracts the degradation features of rolling bearings. Then, the HGE values containing degradation information are fed to the prediction model, based on the GBMC, to obtain degradation stage prediction results more accurately. Meanwhile, three parameter indicators, namely the dynamic estimated interval, the reliability of the prediction result and dynamic uncertainty, are employed to evaluate the prediction results from different perspectives. The estimated interval reflects the upper and lower boundaries of the prediction results, the reliability reflects the credibility of the prediction results and the uncertainty reflects the dynamic fluctuation range of the prediction results. Finally, three rolling bearing run-to-failure experiments were conducted consecutively to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, whose results indicate that HGE is superior to other entropies and the GBMC surpasses other existing rolling bearing degradation prediction methods; the prediction reliabilities are 90.91%, 90% and 83.87%, respectively. Theoretical stability analysis is a significant approach to predicting chatter-free machining parameters. Accurate milling stability predictions highly depend on the dynamic properties of the process system. Therefore, variations in tool and workpiece attributes will require repeated and time-consuming experiments or simulations to update the tool tip dynamics and cutting force coefficients. Considering this problem, this paper proposes a transfer learning framework to efficiently predict the milling stabilities for different tool–workpiece assemblies through reducing the experiments or simulations. First, a source tool is selected to obtain the tool tip frequency response functions (FRFs) under different overhang lengths through impact tests and milling experiments on different workpiece materials conducted to identify the related cutting force coefficients. Then, theoretical milling stability analyses are developed to obtain sufficient source data to pre-train a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) for predicting the limiting axial cutting depth (aplim). For a new tool, the number of overhang lengths and workpiece materials are reduced to design and perform fewer experiments. Then, insufficient stability limits are predicted and further utilized to fine-tune the pre-trained MLP. Finally, a new regression model to predict the aplim values is obtained for target tool–workpiece assemblies. A detailed case study is developed on different tool–workpiece assemblies, and the experimental results validate that the proposed approach requires fewer training samples for obtaining an acceptable prediction accuracy compared with other previously proposed methods. Accurate and reliable prediction of air pollutant concentrations is important for rational avoidance of air pollution events and government policy responses. However, due to the mobility and dynamics of pollution sources, meteorological conditions, and transformation processes, pollutant concentration predictions are characterized by great uncertainty and instability, making it difficult for existing prediction models to effectively extract spatial and temporal correlations. In this paper, a powerful pollutant prediction model (STA-ResConvLSTM) is proposed to achieve accurate prediction of pollutant concentrations. The model consists of a deep learning network model based on a residual neural network (ResNet), a spatial–temporal attention mechanism, and a convolutional long short-term memory neural network (ConvLSTM). The spatial–temporal attention mechanism is embedded in each residual unit of the ResNet to form a new residual neural network with the spatial–temporal attention mechanism (STA-ResNet). Deep extraction of spatial–temporal distribution features of pollutant concentrations and meteorological data from several cities is carried out using STA-ResNet. Its output is used as an input to the ConvLSTM, which is further analyzed to extract preliminary spatial–temporal distribution features extracted from the STA-ResNet. The model realizes the spatial–temporal correlation of the extracted feature sequences to accurately predict pollutant concentrations in the future. In addition, experimental studies on urban agglomerations around Long Beijing show that the prediction model outperforms various popular baseline models in terms of accuracy and stability. For the single-step prediction task, the proposed pollutant concentration prediction model performs well, exhibiting a root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 9.82. Furthermore, even for the pollutant prediction task of 1 to 48 h, we performed a multi-step prediction and achieved a satisfactory performance, being able to achieve an average RMSE value of 13.49. A battery's charging data include the timing information with respect to the charge. However, the existing State of Health (SOH) prediction methods rarely consider this information. This paper proposes a dilated convolution-based SOH prediction model to verify the influence of charging timing information on SOH prediction results. The model uses holes to fill in the standard convolutional kernel in order to expand the receptive field without adding parameters, thereby obtaining a wider range of charging timing information. Experimental data from six batteries of the same battery type were used to verify the model's effectiveness under different experimental conditions. The proposed method is able to accurately predict the battery SOH value in any range of voltage input through cross-validation, and the SDE (standard deviation of the error) is at least 0.28% lower than other methods. In addition, the influence of the position and length of the range of input voltage on the model's prediction ability is studied as well. The results of our analysis show that the proposed method is robust to different sampling positions and different sampling lengths of input data, which solves the problem of the original data being difficult to obtain due to the uncertainty of charging–discharging behaviour in actual operation. Accurate traffic prediction is significant in intelligent cities' safe and stable development. However, due to the complex spatiotemporal correlation of traffic flow data, establishing an accurate traffic prediction model is still challenging. Aiming to meet the challenge, this paper proposes SGGformer, an advanced traffic grade prediction model which combines a shifted window operation, a multi-channel graph convolution network, and a graph Transformer network. Firstly, the shifted window operation is used for coarsening the time series data, thus, the computational complexity can be reduced. Then, a multi-channel graph convolutional network is adopted to capture and aggregate the spatial correlations of the roads in multiple dimensions. Finally, the improved graph Transformer based on the advanced Transformer model is proposed to extract the long-term temporal correlation of traffic data effectively. With the rise of mobile edge computing (MEC), mobile services with the same or similar functions are gradually increasing. Usually, Quality of Service (QoS) has become an indicator to measure high-quality services. In the real MEC service invocation environment, due to time and network instability factors, users' QoS data feedback results are limited. Therefore, effectively predicting the Qos value to provide users with high-quality services has become a key issue. In this paper, we propose a truncated nuclear norm Low-rank Tensor Completion method for the QoS data prediction. This method represents complex multivariate QoS data by constructing tensors. Furthermore, the truncated nuclear norm is introduced in the QoS data tensor completion in order to mine the correlation between QoS data and improve the prediction accuracy. At the same time, the general rate parameter is introduced to control the truncation degree of tensor mode. Finally, the prediction approximate tensor is obtained by the Alternating Direction Multiplier Method iterative optimization algorithm. Numerical experiments are conducted based on the public QoS dataset WS-Dream. With the widespread adoption of service-oriented architectures (SOA), services with the same functionality but the different Quality of Service (QoS) are proliferating, which is challenging the ability of users to build high-quality services. It is often costly for users to evaluate the QoS of all feasible services; therefore, it is necessary to investigate QoS prediction algorithms to help users find services that meet their needs. In this paper, we propose a QoS prediction algorithm called the MFDK model, which is able to fill in historical sparse QoS values by a non-negative matrix decomposition algorithm and predict future QoS values by a deep neural network. In addition, this model uses a Kalman filter algorithm to correct the model prediction values with real-time QoS observations to reduce its prediction error. Through extensive simulation experiments on the WS-DREAM dataset, we analytically validate that the MFDK model has better prediction accuracy compared to the baseline model, and it can maintain good prediction results under different tensor densities and observation densities. Ensuring that intelligent vehicles do not cause fatal collisions remains a persistent challenge due to pedestrians' unpredictable movements and behavior. The potential for risky situations or collisions arising from even minor misunderstandings in vehicle–pedestrian interactions is a cause for great concern. Considerable research has been dedicated to the advancement of predictive models for pedestrian behavior through trajectory prediction, as well as the exploration of the intricate dynamics of vehicle–pedestrian interactions. However, it is important to note that these studies have certain limitations. In this paper, we propose a novel graph-based trajectory prediction model for vehicle–pedestrian interactions called Holistic Spatio-Temporal Graph Attention (HSTGA) to address these limitations. HSTGA first extracts vehicle–pedestrian interaction spatial features using a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) sub-network and max pooling. Then, the vehicle–pedestrian interaction features are aggregated with the spatial features of pedestrians and vehicles to be fed into the LSTM. The LSTM is modified to learn the vehicle–pedestrian interactions adaptively. Moreover, HSTGA models temporal interactions using an additional LSTM. Then, it models the spatial interactions among pedestrians and between pedestrians and vehicles using graph attention networks (GATs) to combine the hidden states of the LSTMs. We evaluate the performance of HSTGA on three different scenario datasets, including complex unsignalized roundabouts with no crosswalks and unsignalized intersections. The results show that HSTGA outperforms several state-of-the-art methods in predicting linear, curvilinear, and piece-wise linear trajectories of vehicles and pedestrians. Demand for spare parts, which is triggered by element failure, project schedule and reliability demand, etc., is a kind of sensing data to the aftermarket service of large manufacturing enterprises. Prediction of the demand for spare parts plays a crucial role in inventory management and lifecycle quality management for the aftermarket service of large-scale manufacturing enterprises. In real-life applications, however, demand for spare parts occurs randomly and fluctuates greatly, and the demand sequence shows obvious intermittent distribution characteristics. Additionally, due to factors such as reporting mistakes made by personnel or environmental changes, the actual data of the demand for spare parts are prone to abnormal variations. It is thus hard to capture the evolutional pattern of the demand for spare parts by traditional time series forecasting methods. The reliability of prediction results is also reduced. To address these concerns, this paper proposes a tensor optimization-based robust interval prediction method of intermittent time series for the aftersales demand for spare parts. First, using the advantages of tensor decomposition to effectively mine intrinsic information from raw data, a sequence-smoothing network based on tensor decomposition and a stacked autoencoder is proposed. Tucker decomposition is applied to the hidden features of the encoder, and the obtained core tensor is reconstructed through the decoder, thus allowing us to smooth outliers in the original demand sequence. An alternating optimization algorithm is further designed to find the optimal sequence feature representation and tensor decomposition factors for the extraction of the evolutionary trend of the intermittent series. Second, an adaptive interval prediction algorithm with a dynamic update mechanism is designed to obtain point prediction values and prediction intervals for the demand sequence, thereby improving the reliability of the forecast. The proposed method is validated using the actual aftersales data from a large engineering manufacturing enterprise in China. The experimental results demonstrate that, compared with typical time series prediction methods, the proposed method can effectively grab the evolutionary trend of various intermittent series and improve the accuracy of predictions made with small-sample intermittent series. With the popularity of ChatGPT, there has been increasing attention towards dialogue systems. Researchers are dedicated to designing a knowledgeable model that can engage in conversations like humans. Traditional seq2seq dialogue models often suffer from limited performance and the issue of generating safe responses. In recent years, large-scale pretrained language models have demonstrated their powerful capabilities across various domains. Many studies have leveraged these pretrained models for dialogue tasks to address concerns such as safe response generation. Pretrained models can enhance responses by carrying certain knowledge information after being pre-trained on large-scale data. However, when specific knowledge is required in a particular domain, the model may still generate bland or inappropriate responses, and the interpretability of such models is poor. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the KRP-DS model. We design a knowledge module that incorporates a knowledge graph as external knowledge in the dialogue system. The module utilizes contextual information for path reasoning and guides knowledge prediction. Finally, the predicted knowledge is used to enhance response generation. Experimental results show that our proposed model can effectively improve the quality and diversity of responses while having better interpretability, and outperforms baseline models in both automatic and human evaluations. Accurate equipment operation trend prediction plays an important role in ensuring the safe operation of equipment and reducing maintenance costs. Therefore, monitoring the equipment vibration and predicting the time series of the vibration trend is one of the effective means to prevent equipment failures. In order to reduce the error of equipment operation trend prediction, this paper proposes a method for equipment operation trend prediction based on a combination of signal decomposition and an Informer prediction model. Aiming at the problem of high noise in vibration signals, which makes it difficult to obtain intrinsic characteristics when directly using raw data for prediction, the original signal is decomposed once using the variational mode decomposition (VMD) algorithm optimized by the improved sparrow search algorithm (ISSA) to obtain the intrinsic mode function (IMF) for different frequencies and calculate the fuzzy entropy. The improved adaptive white noise complete set empirical mode decomposition (ICEEMDAN) is used to decompose the components with the largest fuzzy entropy to obtain a series of intrinsic mode components, fully combining the advantages of the Informer model in processing long time series, and predict equipment operation trend data. Input all subsequences into the Informer model and reconstruct the results to obtain the predicted results. To reduce the economic losses caused by bearing failures and prevent safety accidents, it is necessary to develop an effective method to predict the remaining useful life (RUL) of the rolling bearing. However, the degradation inside the bearing is difficult to monitor in real-time. Meanwhile, external uncertainties significantly impact bearing degradation. Therefore, this paper proposes a new bearing RUL prediction method based on long-short term memory (LSTM) with uncertainty quantification. First, a fusion metric related to runtime (or degradation) is proposed to reflect the latent degradation process. Then, an improved dropout method based on nonparametric kernel density is developed to improve estimation accuracy of RUL. The PHM2012 dataset is adopted to verify the proposed method, and comparison results illustrate that the proposed prediction model can accurately obtain the point estimation and probability distribution of the bearing RUL. Vehicle-infrastructure cooperative perception is an ingenious way to eliminate environmental perception blind areas of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs). However, if the infrastructure transmits all environmental information to the nearby CAVs, the transmission load is so heavy that it causes a waste of network resources, such as time and bandwidth, because parts of the information are redundant for the CAVs. It is an efficient manner for the infrastructure to merely transmit the information about objects which cannot be perceived by the CAVs. Therefore, the infrastructure needs to predict whether an object is perceptible for a CAV. In this paper, a machine-leaning-based model is established to settle this problem, and a data filter is also designed to enhance the prediction accuracy in various scenarios. Based on the proposed model, the infrastructure transmits the environmental information selectively, which significantly reduces the transmission load. Accurate and timely occupancy prediction has the potential to improve the efficiency of energy management systems in smart buildings. Occupancy prediction heavily depends on historical occupancy-related data collected from various sensor sources. Unfortunately, a major problem in that context is the difficulty to collect training data. This situation inspired us to rethink the occupancy prediction problem, proposing the use of an original principled approach based on occupancy estimation via interactive learning to collect the needed training data. Following that, the collected data, along with various features, were fed into several algorithms to predict future occupancy. This paper mainly proposes a weakly supervised occupancy prediction framework based on office sensor readings and occupancy estimations derived from an interactive learning approach. Two studies are the main emphasis of this paper. The first is the prediction of three occupancy states, referred to as discrete states: absence, presence of one occupant, and presence of more than one occupant. The purpose of the second study is to anticipate the future number of occupants, i.e., continuous states. Extensive simulations were run to demonstrate the merits of the proposed prediction framework's performance and to validate the interactive learning-based approach's ability to contribute to the achievement of effective occupancy prediction. The results reveal that LightGBM, a machine learning model, is a better fit for short-term predictions than known recursive neural networks when dealing with a limited dataset. Lithium-ion batteries have become an important power source in low-carbon transportation energy, and the safe operation and remaining useful life prediction are of great significance. Aiming at the shortcomings of existing methods, such as low prediction accuracy and a short prediction period, this paper proposes a real-time update high-order extended Kalman filter method based on fixed-step life prediction for vehicle lithium batteries based on the principle of combining models and data. First, the state model describing the parameters in the dynamic energy attenuation model is established, and the energy attenuation model is regarded as the observation model of the system to meet the requirements of establishing the Kalman filter. Secondly, the multi-step prediction equation of the state model is established by iterative recursion. At the same time, the multi-step prediction equation between the existing energy output value and the future output value is established based on the multi-dimensional Taylor network (MTN). The multiplicative noise term introduced in the dynamic modeling process is regarded as the hidden variable of the system to meet the requirements of establishing the multi-step linear predictive Kalman filter.
