To amplify the displacement of the radiation shell, a double-shell type-IV curved hydroacoustic transducer was proposed. Through Ansys finite element simulation, the vibration modes of the transducer in different stages and the harmonic response characteristics in air and water were studied, and the bandwidth emission of the hydroacoustic transducer was achieved. By optimizing the size of each component, the resonant frequency of the transducer is 740 Hz, the maximum conductivity was 0.66 mS, and the maximum transmitting voltage response was 130 dB. According to the optimized parameters, a longitudinal acoustic transducer prototype was manufactured, and a physical test was conducted in an anechoic pool. The obtained resonant frequency was 750 Hz, the maximum conductivity was 0.44 mS, the maximum transmitting voltage response was 129.25 dB, and the maximum linear dimension was 250 mm, which match the simulated value of the virtual prototype and meet the expected requirements.

Fourier Ptychographic Microscopy (FPM) is a microscopy imaging technique based on optical principles. It employs Fourier optics to separate and combine different optical information from a sample. However, noise introduced during the imaging process often results in poor resolution of the reconstructed image. This article has designed an approach based on a residual local mixture network to improve the quality of Fourier ptychographic reconstruction images. By incorporating channel attention and spatial attention into the FPM reconstruction process, the network enhances the efficiency of the network reconstruction and reduces the reconstruction time. Additionally, the introduction of the Gaussian diffusion model further reduces coherent artifacts and improves image reconstruction quality. Comparative experimental results indicate that this network achieves better reconstruction quality, and outperforming existing methods in both subjective observation and objective quantitative evaluation.

Fourier ptychographic microscopy, as a computational imaging method, can reconstruct high-resolution images but suffers optical aberration, which affects its imaging quality. For this reason, this paper proposes a network model for simulating the forward imaging process in the Tensorflow framework using samples and coherent transfer functions as the input. The proposed model improves the introduced Wirtinger flow algorithm, retains the central idea, simplifies the calculation process, and optimizes the update through back propagation. In addition, Zernike polynomials are used to accurately estimate aberration. The simulation and experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the accuracy of aberration correction, maintain good correction performance under complex scenes, and reduce the influence of optical aberration on imaging quality.

The cornea is an important refractive structure in the human eye. The corneal segmentation technique provides valuable information for clinical diagnoses, such as corneal thickness. Non-contact anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) is a prevalent ophthalmic imaging technique that can visualize the anterior and posterior surfaces of the cornea. Nonetheless, during the imaging process, saturation artifacts are commonly generated due to the tangent of the corneal surface at that point, which is normal to the incident light source. This stripe-shaped saturation artifact covers the corneal surface, causing blurring of the corneal edge, reducing the accuracy of corneal segmentation. To settle this matter, an inpainting method that introduces structural similarity and frequency loss is proposed to remove the saturation artifact in AS-OCT images. Specifically, the structural similarity loss reconstructs the corneal structure and restores corneal textural details. The frequency loss combines the spatial domain with the frequency domain to ensure the overall consistency of the image in both domains. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed method in corneal segmentation tasks is evaluated, and the results indicate a significant benefit for subsequent clinical analysis.

The combination of a blood cell analyzer and artificial microscopy to detect white blood cells is used in hospitals. Blood cell analyzers not only have large throughput, but they also cannot detect cell morphology; although artificial microscopy has high accuracy, it is inefficient and prone to missed detections. In view of the above problems, a method based on Fourier ptychographic microscopy (FPM) and deep learning to detect peripheral blood leukocytes is proposed in this paper. Firstly, high-resolution and wide-field microscopic images of human peripheral blood cells are obtained using the FPM system, and the cell image data are enhanced with DCGANs (deep convolution generative adversarial networks) to construct datasets for performance evaluation. Then, an improved DETR (detection transformer) algorithm is proposed to improve the detection accuracy of small white blood cell targets; that is, the residual module Conv Block in the feature extraction part of the DETR network is improved to reduce the problem of information loss caused by downsampling. Finally, CIOU (complete intersection over union) is introduced as the bounding box loss function, which avoids the problem that GIOU (generalized intersection over union) is difficult to optimize when the two boxes are far away and the convergence speed is faster. The experimental results show that the mAP of the improved DETR algorithm in the detection of human peripheral white blood cells is 0.936. In addition, this algorithm is compared with other convolutional neural networks in terms of average accuracy, parameters, and number of inference frames per second, which verifies the feasibility of this method in microscopic medical image detection.

Fourier ptychographic microscopy (FPM) is a novel technique for computing microimaging that allows imaging of samples such as pathology sections. However, due to the influence of systematic errors and noise, the quality of reconstructed images using FPM is often poor, and the reconstruction efficiency is low. In this paper, a hybrid attention network that combines spatial attention mechanisms with channel attention mechanisms into FPM reconstruction is introduced. Spatial attention can extract fine spatial features and reduce redundant features while, combined with residual channel attention, it adaptively readjusts the hierarchical features to achieve the conversion of low-resolution complex amplitude images to high-resolution ones. The high-resolution images generated by this method can be applied to medical cell recognition, segmentation, classification, and other related studies, providing a better foundation for relevant research.

Most of the available divisible-load scheduling models assume that all servers in networked systems are idle before workloads arrive and that they can remain available online during workload computation. In fact, this assumption is not always valid. Different servers on networked systems may have heterogenous available times. If we ignore the availability constraints when dividing and distributing workloads among servers, some servers may not be able to start processing their assigned load fractions or deliver them on time. In view of this, we propose a new multi-installment scheduling model based on server availability time constraints. To solve this problem, we design an efficient heuristic algorithm consisting of a repair strategy and a local search strategy, by which an optimal load partitioning scheme is derived. The repair strategy guarantees time constraints, while the local search strategy achieves optimality. We evaluate the performance via rigorous simulation experiments and our results show that the proposed algorithm is suitable for solving large-scale scheduling problems employing heterogeneous servers with arbitrary available times. The proposed algorithm is shown to be superior to the existing algorithm in terms of achieving a shorter makespan of workloads.

Owing to the significant roles of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in diverse biological processes, ATP level is used to research and evaluate the physiological processes of organisms. Aptamer-based biosensors have been widely reported to achieve this purpose, which are superior in their flexible biosensing mechanism, with a high sensitivity and good biocompatibility; however, the aptamers currently used for ATP detection have a poor ability to discriminate ATP from adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine monophosphate (AMP). Herein, an ATP-specific aptamer was screened and applied to construct a fluorescent aptasensor for ATP by using graphene oxide (GO) and strand displacement amplification (SDA). The fluorescence intensity of the sensor is linearly related to the concentration of ATP within 0.1 μM to 25 μM under optimal experimental conditions, and the detection limit is 33.85 nM. The biosensor exhibits a satisfactory specificity for ATP. Moreover, the experimental results indicate that the biosensor can be applied to determine the ATP in human serum. In conclusion, the screened aptamer and the biosensor have promising applications in the determination of the real energy charge level and ATP content in a complex biological system.

Fourier ptychographic microscopy (FPM) is a potential imaging technique, which is used to achieve wide field-of-view (FOV), high-resolution and quantitative phase information. The LED array is used to irradiate the samples from different angles to obtain the corresponding low-resolution intensity images. However, the performance of reconstruction still suffers from noise and image data redundancy, which needs to be considered. In this paper, we present a novel Fourier ptychographic microscopy imaging reconstruction method based on a deep multi-feature transfer network, which can achieve good anti-noise performance and realize high-resolution reconstruction with reduced image data. First, in this paper, the image features are deeply extracted through transfer learning ResNet50, Xception and DenseNet121 networks, and utilize the complementarity of deep multiple features and adopt cascaded feature fusion strategy for channel merging to improve the quality of image reconstruction; then the pre-upsampling is used to reconstruct the network to improve the texture details of the high-resolution reconstructed image. We validate the performance of the reported method via both simulation and experiment. The model has good robustness to noise and blurred images. Better reconstruction results are obtained under the conditions of short time and low resolution. We hope that the end-to-end mapping method of neural network can provide a neural-network perspective to solve the FPM reconstruction.

With its increasing incidence, cancer has become one of the main causes of worldwide mortality. In this work, we mainly propose a novel attention-based neural network model named Gated Graph ATtention network (GGAT) for cancer prediction, where a gating mechanism (GM) is introduced to work with the attention mechanism (AM), to break through the previous work’s limitation of 1-hop neighbourhood reasoning. In this way, our GGAT is capable of fully mining the potential correlation between related samples, helping for improving the cancer prediction accuracy. Additionally, to simplify the datasets, we propose a hybrid feature selection algorithm to strictly select gene features, which significantly reduces training time without affecting prediction accuracy. To the best of our knowledge, our proposed GGAT achieves the state-of-the-art results in cancer prediction task on LIHC, LUAD, KIRC compared to other traditional machine learning methods and neural network models, and improves the accuracy by 1% to 2% on Cora dataset, compared to the state-of-the-art graph neural network methods.

In this paper, we propose a novel fuzzy expectation maximization (FEM) based Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy particle filtering (FEMTS-PF) algorithm for a passive sensor system. In order to incorporate target spatial-temporal information into particle filtering, we introduce a T-S fuzzy modeling algorithm, in which an improved FEM approach is proposed to adaptively identify the premise parameters, and the model probability is adjusted by the premise membership functions. In the proposed FEM, the fuzzy parameter is derived by the fuzzy C-regressive model clustering method based on entropy and spatial-temporal characteristics, which can avoid the subjective influence caused by the artificial setting of the initial value when compared to the traditional FEM. Furthermore, using the proposed T-S fuzzy model, the algorithm samples particles, which can effectively reduce the particle degradation phenomenon and the parallel filtering, can realize the real-time performance of the algorithm. Finally, the results of the proposed algorithm are evaluated and compared to several existing filtering algorithms through a series of Monte Carlo simulations. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is more precise, robust and that it even has a faster convergence rate than the interacting multiple model unscented Kalman filter (IMMUKF), interacting multiple model extended Kalman filter (IMMEKF) and interacting multiple model Rao-Blackwellized particle filter (IMMRBPF).

Oxygen plasma treatment has been reported as an effective way of improving the response of graphene gas sensors. In this work, a gas sensor based on a composite graphene channel with a layer of pristine graphene (G) at the bottom and an oxygen plasma-treated graphene (OP-G) as a covering layer was reported. The OP-G on top provided oxygen functional groups and serves as the gas molecule grippers, while the as-grown graphene beneath serves as a fast carrier transport path. Thus, the composite channel (OP-G/G) demonstrated significantly improved response in NH3 gas sensing tests compared with the pristine G channel. Moreover, the OP-G/G channel showed faster response and recovering process than the OP-G channel. Since this kind of composite channel is fabricated from chemical vapor deposited graphene and patterned with standard photolithography, the device dimension was much smaller than a gas sensor fabricated from reduced graphene oxide and it is favorable for the integration of a large number of sensing units.
