Abstract

Information about the meeting of Board of Directors of the Navy League of the United States from June 11-13, 2009 in Arlington, Virginia is presented. The meeting featured the Adm. Arleigh Burke Award for Exceptional Leadership given to Captain Richard Phillips of the MV Maersk Alabama ship. The event also included the election of Daniel B. Branch as Navy League president. The challenges and priorities of the fiscal 2010 budget of the U.S. Navy was also addressed at the meeting.
