Abstract Controversy still exists regarding how much the inflow arterial percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) contributed to maintaining fistula function for hemodialysis. We aimed to analyze patency and risk factors after inflow arterial PTA. Hemodialysis patients with inflow arterial primary stenosis who were admitted to our institution from January 2017 to December 2022 were examined. One group had arterial-venous fistula with inflow artery stenosis alone (AVF + iAS) and another group had AVF with inflow artery stenosis and any vein stenosis (AVF + iAS + VS). The characteristics of patients, stenotic lesions, and PTA procedures were recorded. Kaplan–Meier analysis was used to compare primary patency, assisted primary patency, and secondary patency in the two groups. Cox proportional hazard analysis was used to identify risk factors associated with patency. We examined 213 patients, 53 in the AVF + iAS group (51 radial arterial stenosis and 2 ulnar arterial stenosis) and 160 in the AVF + iAS + VS group (159 radial arterial stenosis and 1 ulnar arterial stenosis). Abstract Gas curtain launch is an innovative method for underwater gun firing that enhances efficiency by creating a gas curtain. This gas curtain interacts with post-projectile gas and the surrounding water, resulting in a complex multiphase flow field at the muzzle, which significantly impacts projectile accuracy. To investigate the evolution of this flow field, a three-dimensional numerical model was developed, focusing on the distribution of shock waves, temperature, and pressure at the muzzle. The study’s findings reveal that after ignition, the gas curtain passes through the projectile and exits the muzzle, forming an initial bottle-shaped shock wave through repeated expansion and compression actions. As the projectile penetrates this shock wave and the post-projectile gas continues to exit, a radially expanding bottle-shaped shock wave is formed. The Mach disk diameter decreases exponentially over time. The gas temperature within the shock wave bottle rises sharply at the Mach disk and remains high in the downstream region, gradually expanding while the overall temperature decreases. The high-pressure region is located downstream of the Mach disk and, due to the swirling effect caused by projectile penetration, this region moves radially along the Mach disk towards the downstream, with the average pressure gradually decreasing.

Abstract Papillary carcinomas account for the largest proportion of thyroid cancers, with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) being prone to early lymph node metastasis. Some studies have confirmed that LPAR5 can promote the progression of PTC, but immune-related analyses of LPAR5 and PTC have not been widely discussed. This study aimed to determine the role of LPAR5 in PTC prognosis and immunity. We will further explore the role of LPAR5 in 33 different tumor types. Regarding PTC, we analyzed the effect of LPAR5 expression on overall survival (OS). Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses were performed. Immune-related analyses of immune checkpoints (ICPs) and immune cell infiltration were also performed. For pan-cancer, R packages were used to analyze prognosis, tumor mutational burden (TMB), microsatellite instability (MSI), and immune cell infiltration. Analysis of tumor microenvironment (TME) and ICPs was performed using Sangerbox ( http://vip.sangerbox.com/home.html ). The TISIDB database ( http://cis.hku.hk/TISIDB/index.php ) was used to identify immune and molecular subtypes. LPAR5 expression is associated with PTC prognosis and immunity as well as various human tumors. LPAR5 may be a potential biomarker for multiple malignancies and may provide a new target for cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract In situ consolidation is the most common treatment to conserve cultural relics, but materials for preserving fragile organic cultural relics in humid archaeological excavation sites are scarce. To solve the problem, a moisture-curable polyurethane (MCPU) prepolymer was synthesized by reacting isophorone diisocyanate with polyethylene glycol 600. The standard acetone–dibutylamine method, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, gel chromatography and thermogravimetric analysis were utilized to determine the change in isocyanate groups before and after the reaction, the prepolymer molecular weight, the thermal decomposition kinetic parameters and the MCPU film lifetime. The results showed that the number-average molecular weight of the prepolymer was 749, and the weight average molecular weight was 1684. Isophorone groups in the prepolymer react with moisture in the air to form colorless, transparent, flexible films. The thermal decomposition of the MCPU films was a first-order reaction, and the decomposition process consisted of two stages. The Dakin equation was used to obtain the thermal aging equation lg t = 4600.82/T − 8.07, meaning that at 15 °C, the sample has an approximately 150-year lifetime. A new conservation material was developed, and its thermal decomposition kinetics were studied, which are significant for the conservation of fragile organic cultural relics in humid environments.

Abstract Analysis of cloud cover and its diurnal variation over the Tibetan Plateau (TP) is highly reliant on satellite data; however, the accuracy of cloud detection from both polar-orbiting and geostationary satellites over this area remains unclear. The new-generation geostationary Himawari-8 satellites provide high-resolution spatial and temporal information about clouds over the Tibetan Plateau. In this study, the cloud detection of MODIS and AHI is investigated and validated against CALIPSO measurements. For AHI and MODIS, the false alarm rate of AHI and MODIS in cloud identification over the TP was 7.51% and 1.94%, respectively, and the cloud hit rate was 73.55% and 80.15%, respectively. Using hourly cloud-cover data from the Himawari-8 satellites, we found that at the monthly scale, the diurnal cycle in cloud cover over the TP tends to increase throughout the day, with the minimum and maximum cloud fractions occurring at 10:00 a.m. and 18:00 p.m. local time. Due to the limited time resolution of polar-orbiting satellites, the underestimation of MODIS daytime average cloud cover is approximately 4.00% at the annual scale, with larger biases during the spring (5.40%) and winter (5.90%).
