Abstract The abscopal is a hypothesis for treating of non-irradiated tumors after localized radiation therapy. It is associated with the products of tumor-associated gene as autoantibodies (aTAAs) in reaction to the tumor-associated antigens (TAAs), with increasing of anti-MAGEA3 and an relationship between the abscopal effect and immune response. The hapten enhanced local chemotherapy (HELC) was studied to kills tumor and release tumor TAAs, then hapten modify the TAAs to neu-TAAs, to produce tumor autologous antibodies, called induced tumor-associated autoantibodies (iTAAs) that is different from natural TAAs. Since the iTAAs and complement (C) are associated with cancer therapy Immunofluorescence (IF) was applied to evaluate the expression of the iTAAs and C3, C5, C9. The carboxyl-functionalised task-specific ionic liquid of 1-carboxymethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethyl-sulfonyl)imide ([HOOCmim][NTf2]) was used as solvent and extractant for UO22+ extraction from aqueous solution. A homogeneous phase of [HOOCmim][NTf2]-H2O system could be achieved at 75 °C, and 86.8 ± 4.8% of UO22+ was separated from the aqueous solution after vibrating for only 1 min. Furthermore, nearly 97.3 ± 2.9% of UO22+ was stripped from [HOOCmim][NTf2] phase by 1 M HNO3 solution. K+, Na+, Mg2+, Dy3+, La3+, and Eu3+ have little influence on the homogeneous extraction of UO22+, and the extraction efficiency of UO22+ still remained at ca. 80%. Experimental and theoretical study on the selectivity of [HOOCmim][NTf2]-H2O system were performed for the first time. Density functional theory calculation indicates that the solvent effect plays a significant role on the selectivity of [HOOCmim][NTf2]-H2O. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The visual response to spatial frequency (SF), a characteristic of spatial structure across position in space, is of particular importance for animal survival. A natural challenge for rodents is to detect predators as early as possible while foraging. Whether neurons in mouse primary visual cortex (V1) are functionally organized to meet this challenge remains unclear. Combining intrinsic signal optical imaging and single-unit recording, we found that the cutoff SF was much greater for neurons whose receptive fields were located above the mouse. Specifically, we discovered that the cutoff SF increased in a gradient that was positively correlated with the elevation in the visual field. This organization was present at eye opening and persisted through adulthood. Dark rearing delayed the maturation of the cutoff SF globally, but had little impact on the topographical organization of the cutoff SF, suggesting that this regional distribution is innately determined. This form of cortical organization of different SFs may benefit the mouse for detection of airborne threats in the natural environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
