A pot experiment was performed in the open field of Ornamental Plants and Landscape Gardening Research Department Nursery, Horticulture Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Giza, Egypt, during 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons to improve the quality of Gladiolus grandiflorus ‘Peters Pears’ growth and flowering. To achieve this goal different planting dates (July, October and February) and various soil drench additions (yeast and garlic extracts) were employed, while different parameters i.e. plant height (cm), leaf number/plant, spike stem length (cm), spike fresh and dry weights (g), corms fresh and dry weights (g), and pigments content of the fresh leaves (chlorophyll a, b and carotenoids; mg/g f.w.) were measured. The obtained results showed that planting on 15th October in addition to soil drenching with yeast extract produced the highest values in most studied characters except for corms' fresh and dry weights (g) which were increased by planting on 15th February in addition to soil drenching with yeast extract. So, to obtain the best results it is recommended to plant Gladiolus grandiflorus ‘Peters Pears’ corms on 15th October in addition to soil drenching with yeast extract (2 g/l three times at 15-day intervals)

This work was performed in the two experimental seasons of 2020 and 2021 at the farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University, Egypt to study the effect of compost (0.0, 500, 1000 and 1500 g/container) and some stimulating substances (control, vitamin E at 100 ppm, bread yeast at 10 g/l and garlic extract at 10%) on leaves and some chemical composition of jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis, Link) plants. Data showed that all used levels of compost pronounced increased leaves traits (number, leaf area, leaves weights (fresh or dry) in addition to chemical composition (pigments content, NPK percentages and protein) compared with the control. The 1500 g compost/container was more active than other treatments. Also, sprayed plants with vitamin E, active yeast and garlic extract significantly improved all previous parameters compared with the control. In general, the treatment of active yeast was superior, followed by garlic extract than vitamin E treatment. Therefore, the best interaction treatment was recorded with the high level of compost (1500 g/container) plus bread active yeast (10 g/l) or garlic extract (10 %).

This work was done during the two experimental seasons of 2020 and 2021 at the farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University, Egypt to study the reaction of jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis, Link) plants to compost (0.0, 500, 1000 and 1500 g/container) and some stimulating substances (control, vitamin E at 100 ppm, active yeast at 10 g/l and garlic extract at 10%) treatments. Data revealed that increasing the level of compost led to a significantly increased in plant height, main stem thickness, number of branches/plant and aerial parts and root weights (fresh or dry) compared with control. While sprayed plants with all stimulating substances significantly enhanced all previous characters compared with the control. It can be concluded that the high level of compost (1500 g/container) plus yeast at 10 g/l or garlic extract at 10% led to the greatest growth parameters of jojoba plant

Two field experiments were conducted in 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 seasons, at Ras Sidr Experimental Station in south SinaiAffiliated to Desert Research Center, Mataria, Cairo Egypt in cooperation with the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Benha University, to study the effect of biogas fertilizer and natural extracts on vegetative characteristics and essential oil yield of Stevia rebaudiana L. plant. Results showed that biogas fertilizer along with different natural extracts exerted a significant influence on the growth characteristics and essential oil content of stevia. The highest values in most of the parameters in the first cut were found from T1 (recommended dose of chemical fertilizer) combining with (M4), (M5) or (M2). On the other hand, the second cut took the same line as the first cut but with T3 (50% NPK + biogas slurry at 5000 kg h-1) as (T3×M4) or (T3×M2) as drench addition registered the highest values of parameters mention before in most cases. Conclusively, the use of half (50%) of the recommended dose of chemical fertilizer with the equivalent of the recommended nitrogen content and replaced it with biogas fertilizer led to reducing the problem of the use of chemical fertilizers on the health and economic damages, in addition to the use of both extracts of Azolla and garlic as a drench addition with organic fertilization and half the dose of chemical fertilizer.

Two field experiments were conducted in 2019 and 2020 seasons at Desert Research Center, Mataria, Cairo, Egypt, and its experimental farm at Ras Sudr Experimental Station in South Sinai, in cooperation with the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture Benha University, to study the effect of biogas slurry fertilizer and natural extracts on biomass, chemical constituents, and quality of Stevia rebaudiana L. plant. Results showed that biogas fertilizer along with the different natural extracts exerted a significant influence on yield, chemical constituents, stevioside and rebaudioside A., of stevia. The highest values in most of the parameters i.e. shoot fresh and dry weights biomass, leaves fresh and dry weights biomass, N, P, K and pigments in the first cut by recommended dose of chemical fertilizer (T1) combining with garlic as drench addition, Yucca extract as a foliar spray or Azolla extract as drench addition (M4, M5 or M2,respectively). On the other hand, the second cut took the same line as the first cut but with 50% NPK + 5000 kg h-1 (T3) as either garlic extract or Azolla extract as drench addition (T3×M4 or T3×M2) as registered the highest values of parameters mention before in most cases. As for the highest values of stevioside and total stevioside content were recorded by 50% NPK + 3000 kg h-1 combining with Azolla aqueous extract as drench addition (T4×M2). Rebaudioside A., registered by combination of the recommended dose of biogas fertilizer and yucca aqueous extract as a foliar spray (T2×M5). Conclusively, the use of half (50%) of the recommended dose of chemical fertilizer with its equivalent of the recommended nitrogen dose and replaced with biogas fertilizer, in addition to the use of both extracts of Azolla and garlic as a drench addition, led to reducing nitrate accumulation as a problem of the use of chemical fertilizers on the human health and economic damages.

This experiment was conducted at Abo Qurkas district, Minia Governorate during the two successive seasons of 2014 and 2015 to study the effect of compost and biostimulant treatments on growth and yield of guar plants. The data indicated that the application of compost (2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 ton/fed) significantly increased plant height, number of branches/plant, leaf area, fresh and dry weights of shoot/plant and per fed, root system traits, number of pods/plant, seed yield/plant and /fed comparing with control. The plants treated with Vit. E and plant extracts (garlic, moringa, aloe and green tea) each at two concentrations showed significant increases in all investigated parameters, in both seasons, as compared with the control. Among the ten treatments either garlic extract (300 ppm) or green tea extract at (150 ppm) gave the best results in this concern. The interaction was significant and the highest values in all measurements were obtained with compost (5 ton/fed) plus garlic extract (300 ppm) or green tea (150 ppm).

This experiment was conducted at Abo Qurkas district, Minia Governorate during the two successive seasons of 2014 and 2015 to study the effect of compost and biostimulant treatments on chemical constituents and guaran productivity. The obtained results revealed that fertilizing guar plants with compost (2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 ton/fed) significantly increased guaran productivity (guaran % and guaran yield per plant and /fed), pigments (chl. a, b and carotenoids) and N, P , K, protein and total carbohydrates %. The medium level of compost (5.0 ton/fed) was much more effective than low and high level (2.5 and 7.5 ton/fed) in this concern. The plants treated with Vit. E or plant extracts (garlic, moringa, aloe, green tea) resulted significantly increases in guaran productivity and some chemical constituents (pigments and N, P and K %) in both seasons, except green tea extract (300 ppm) for guaran productivity. Among such treatments, either garlic extract (300 ppm) or green tea extract (150 ppm) gave the best results. It could be recommended to fertilize guar plants with compost (5.0 ton/fed) and spraying plants with garlic extract (300 ppm) or green tea extract (150 ppm) to achieve the maximum yield of guaran.
