Features of the blades which were unique, including the damask surface and extremely sharp edge; Description of the microstructure, consisting of undulations in carbide bands which appear as a damascene pattern, of blades made from steel wootz ingots; Description of the process by which the author and master bladesmith Alfred H. Pendray replicated a Damascus sword.
