The article describes the antibacterial properties of a clay found in France which has been successfully used to treat the skin disease Mycobacterium ulcerans. After a series of tests, researchers found that the clay is high in iron, causing its green color, and is strongly alkaline. They tested the clay on other bacterias and found it to stop the growth of Escherichia coli, salmonella and staphylococcus.
