Synthesis and study of the physicochemical properties of silsesquioxanes modified with 3-aminopropyl, 2-aminoethyl-3-aminopropyl, and dithiooxamide groups was carried out. The obtained sorbents were characterized by thermal stability, porosity, and a high degree of functionalization; the concentration of groups grafted to the particle surface reached 2.80 mmol g−1. Modified silsesquioxanes were used as an electroactive substance for the development of indicator carbon paste electrodes (CPEs). When using a CPE with a 5% dithiooxamidated silsesquioxane content, the conditions selected for potentiometric titration of aqueous solutions containing silveri were pH 3–4, the titrant was potassium iodide. The designed sensor was successfully tested by analyzing a standard sample and a drug for silver ion content.

In order to increase the affinity of the halloysite mineral to 3d-metal ions, its surface was functionalized with N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane. A significant influence of the nature of the solvent and silane concentration on the degree of functionalization of halloysite was revealed. According to the data of elemental analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetry, it was found that the most efficient solvents were tetrahydrofuran and acetonitrile at an equimolar silane to halloysite ratio. The functionalization of halloysite with N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropylsilyl groups significantly increases the sorption capacity of the material in comparison with both unmodified halloysite and halloysite functionalized with non-chelating 3-aminopropylsilyl groups.

Mesoporous carbon of lamellar morphology was synthesized by the thermal decomposition of zinc glycerolate in an inert atmosphere followed by the removal of zinc oxide from the ZnO/C composite. The obtained material was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and low-temperature adsorption of nitrogen. Mesoporous carbon is remarkable for a high adsorption rate of methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions with the maximum adsorption capacity toward the dye equal to 1680 mg g−1.

A platform containing three anticancer components is proposed. The components are a radioactive 69mZn isotope and zinc complexes, where both zinc and ligand exhibit anticancer properties. Two zinc-containing complexes, namely (2-AP)2ZnCl2 and (2-AP)2Zn(Sal)2 (AP is 2-aminopyrimidine, Sal is salicylate) were synthesized and characterized. Their cytotoxicity with respect to some leukemia cell lines is demonstrated. Their stability in physiological solution and percentage of apoptosis (by flow cytometry) are investigated. Stable complexes of compounds with the isotope 69mZn were characterized by TLC and autoradiography.

Circular dichroism spectra of the optically active (R)- and (S)-enantiomers of N,N-(dimethylamino)ethylferrocene (Ugi´s amine) were studied for a free form and for their diastereomeric salts with с l(+)-tartaric acid.

Regioselectivity of the HBF4-catalyzed ferrocenylalkylation of 2-mercaptobenzoxazole in two phase aqueous organic solvent mixture was studied. The reaction proceeds regioselectively at the heterocyclic nitrogen atom. Structures of the synthesized compounds were established by 2D NMR technique. Structure of 3-(1-ferrocenylbenzyl)benz[d]oxazol-2-thione was elucidated by X-ray diffraction.

Novel phenoxy-substituted subnaphthalocyanine and binuclear subphthalocyanine were synthesized. Structures of the target compounds were established by 1H NMR spectroscopy and high resolution MALDI-TOF/TOF mass spectrometry. Electronic absorption spectra of the synthesized complexes revealed the bathochromic shift of absorption maximum to the near IR spectral region as compared with subphthalocyanine.

Features of the electronic structure of adducts of transition metal hydride complexes (Cp*M(dppe)H, dppe is the 1,2-(diphenylphosphino)ethane, M = Fe, Ru, Os; CpM(CO)3H, M = Mo, W) with acids and bases were analyzed with the ADF2014 program using energy decomposition analysis (EDA) by the Ziegler-Rauk method combined with the natural orbitals for chemical valence theory (ETS-NOCV). The nature of orbital interactions in the complex determines the reaction pathway: σMH → σ*OH interaction leads to the proton transfer to hydride ligand, nM → σ*OH leads to the metal atom protonation, nN → σ*MH implies the metal hydride deprotonation, and σMH → n*B corresponds to the hydride transfer to Lewis acid. It was shown that M-H bond polarization change has the similar character upon the formation of complexes with Bronsted and Lewis acids. The ease of polarization of M-H bonds in complexes CpM(CO)3H determines their reactivity as proton and hydride ion donors.

The prospects of the action of different types of chelating agents capable of binding to zinc, and salicylate ion comprising compounds on leukemic cells are reviewed. Survival rates and therapeutic indexes were compared.

Carbonyl derivatives of N-ferrocenyl alkyl pyrazoles were synthesized. The techniques of analytical separation of racemates of the synthesized compounds were developed. The structures of three compounds were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.

Two new approaches to impact leukemia cells of different types are considered. The effect of heterocycles serving as NO synthase inhibitors or activators and the possibilities of the use of the zinc-related magnetic isotope effect are described.
