Three Gammarus species are reported from River Jumahe. Gammarus madidus sp. n. is characterized by antenna 2 with groups of long setae along the anterior and posterior margins, inner ramus of uropod 3 reaching about 40% of length of outer ramus and both rami fringed with long simple setae. G. lacustris Sars, 1863 is distinguished by epimeral plates 2 and 3 with sharp posterodistal comers, inner ramus of uropod 3 reaching about 75% of length of outer ramus and both rami armed with plumose setae. G. nekkensis Uchida, 1935 differs from congeneric species by pereopod 3 with long curled setae on the posterior margin and inner ramus of uropod 3 reaching 50% of outer ramus. Distribution data of these gammarids are presented.

According to Platnick's catalogue (2004) seven of the sixteen linyphiid spiders described from China by Dr E. Schenkel have not been re-examined since their original descriptions. This paper gives new information about them, except for Lepthyphantes kansuensis Schenkel, 1936, the type material of which could not be located. Erigone amdoensis Schenkel, 1963 and E. changchunensis Zhu & Wen, 1980 are herein regarded as junior synonyms of E. sinensis Schenkel, 1936. A new genus, Denisiphantes, is erected for Lepthyphantes denisi Schenkel, 1963. Lepthyphantes bonneti Schenkel, 1963, which was transferred to Incestophantes Tanasevitch, 1992 by Saaristo & Tanasevitch (2000), is here transferred to Tchatkalophantes Tanasevitch, 2001, and Lepthyphantes riyueshanensis Zhu & Li, 1983 is placed in its synonymy. Furthermore, Tmeticus yunnanensis Schenkel, 1963 is regarded as a junior synonym of Hylyphantes graminicola (Sundevall, 1830), while Perimonoides potanini Schenkel, 1963 is regarded as a nomen dubium. Besides Hylyphantes graminicola, all remaining valid species treated in this paper are redescribed and illustrated.

Two new Gammarus species from Benxi Water Cave, China (Crustacea, Amphipoda, Gammaridae). - Two new Gammarus species, Gammarus pexus sp. n. and Gammarus stalagmiticus sp. n., are described from Benxi Water Cave, Liaoning Province, China. Gammarus pexus sp. n. is characterized by the peduncular articles 4 and 5 with groups of long setae and outer margin of outer ramus of uropod 3 only with simple setae. Gammarus stalagmiticus sp. n. differs from the congeneric species in the accessory flagellum of antenna 1 with 6 articles and uropod 3 densely provided with plumose and simple setae.

The present paper gives a review of the Gnathonarium species known from China. A total of four species are recorded, including one new species G. biconcavum sp. n.. G. cornigerum Zhu & Wen, 1980, G. phragmigerum Gao & Zhu, 1988 and G. flavidum Gao & Zhu, 1993 are synonymized with G. cambridgei Schenkel, 1963. A description of the new species and redescriptions of the known species are given.

Three new species of the genus Gammarus are described on the base of specimens collected from Ili River, Xinjiang, China. Gammarus montanus sp. n. is characterized by uropod 3 armed with long simple setae and antenna 2 lacking calceoli; G. brevipodus sp. n. is distinguished by the peduncle of antenna 2 with long setae along both margins and inner ramus of uropod 3 about one-third of outer ramus. G. takesensis sp. n. differs from G. brevipodus sp. n. by inner ramus of uropod 3 reaching three-fourths of outer ramus. Distribution data on these gammarids are also presented.

41 species of Chinese jumping spiders described by Dr E. Schenkel as new species from 1936 to 1963 are reviewed in part and listed in the present paper. 13 of these species are still valid in their original combination, 17 were placed in synonymy, 9 were before transferred, and Menemerus yunnanensis Schenkel, 1963 is here transferred to Pseudicius. Illustrations of the body of Asianellus potanini (Schenkel, 1963), Heliophanus potanini (Schenkel, 1963) and Talavera trivittata (Schenkel, 1963) and of diagnostic structures of Pseudicius yunnanensis (Schenkel, 1963), Thiania cavaleriei Schenkel, 1963 and Thiania luteobrachialis Schenkel, 1963 are given.
