Luxury in the hotel industry has been present practically since its inception, it is evident in its different goods and services, however, over time it has evolved and has become more demanding, which has required innovation and creativity to meet the desires of customers. This article is a documentary and descriptive review through an analysis of information from primary and secondary sources on the variables that confirm compliance with luxury standards in terms of service quality in hotels belonging to international chains located in the city of Bogotá, Colombia. Whose purpose was to analyze its impact on the operations of these organizations that provide a luxury service in the country to understand the complexity that a luxury service and quality generates. It serves as a reference for consultation on critical points, collecting experiences and knowledge contributing to the hotel sector in different parts of the world. Concluding that compliance with standards is impacted by aspects such as local culture, training and education that promote technical and soft skills, adequate work environments and requires discipline on the part of all levels and functional areas that make up the hotel to meet and satisfy customer needs.
