From the qualitative analysis methodology, with bibliographic review procedures, documentary research and field research with semi-structured interviews, in this article, the mutations of the tenure system for the conformation of private land ownership in Piauí are discussed. Carried out by a continuous pact of the agribusiness economy surrounded by state interests, agrarian bourgeoisie and corporations, it was found that the legislation of land regularization in progress, is orchestrated / operationalized under a strictly mercantile / productive-financial perspective (intensified by transnationalization capital and capital market insertions) raising property as a legally secure commodity (asset) to capture the income of the most varied capitalist subjects. It is concluded that such architecture goes against the social function of the land and opposes all notions of ethnic land, land-environment, peasant land, among others, triggering deleterious impacts in the Brazilian field.
